its the heathrow one - feel bit sorry for him as seems like pointless day as well as a long one.

Jollyjoseyjinglebells · 02/12/2008 18:14

Very festive with me a good foot of snow, had to get pushed up the hill(serves me right for laughing the other night at others) my driving skills were much better and I made it(smugness)

Loving the Xmas names, starting to get excited and worried I havent done enough!

Re the Ex I did email back, and got a very fast response, all very odd, he has split from his wife, that hmm has the same name as me!!!

hollyivypoppy34 · 02/12/2008 18:16

oooh. midlife crisis alert (on his part) josey... dh had similar thing with an ex when he split from his ex wife.

all very festive with baby einstein santa here - truly is a godsend for the witching hour

bitofadramaqueen · 02/12/2008 19:05

Thanks for the suggestion of bitofanavityqueen alipalli. The only other thing I can think of is *bitofafestivefairy' or 'bitofachristmaspudding'. Votes please? Or other suggestions.

Amber it's fair to say my lateral thigh trainer has had limited use in the past . I take it it's just me on the wierd foot pain post childbirth?

hollyivypoppy34 · 02/12/2008 19:14

meant to say re footpain i had cramp quite badly a few tims (which I've never had) - could be related to weight when you were pregnant/fact you're carrying baby around a lot

Amberc · 02/12/2008 19:48

I cannot think of any way to Christmasify my name

Neenztwinz · 02/12/2008 19:51

at your boys Rolf - and at your DH getting the high chair out of storage (or not).

Ooh Josey, that sounds very weird. I had a similar thing when I joined Facebook, an old flame who totally broke my heart and who was a complete a*ehole started messaging me, but never asked me to be added as a friend and then would sometimes say nasty things like 'I hope your writing has improved since we knew each other' (I am a journalist). Cheeky git. I only replied once to him and just ignored him after that. But he still sometimes messages me out of the blue. Tsser!

hollyivypoppy34 · 02/12/2008 19:56

amberc.. amberchristmascandles or amberchristmas or somethign like that.

forgot to say rolf your post did make me giggle... I really want a boy next time (did I mention that I am qutie broody having got over my initial fears about having more than one -mainly due to ah and rolf)

mulledwhinegums · 02/12/2008 20:16

BDQ - what about BitofaSnowQueen?

Amber (I think you asked) - yes I do have a Scootababy, and I love it - it was nearly £70 but worth every penny. I got it from Big Mama Slings online, and you can return stuff if it's not suitable. I have said (whined!) a million times before I'm sure, we live in a top floor flat, and the stairs are a bugger, so it makes such a difference to me. I still want an easy fold lightweight buggy though - trying to force myself to wait until Jan for a sale bargain.

Josey, your consultant deserves a rollicking for what he said to you, and I hope he gets it.

Katyjo, lovely to see you and Mia again today at Waterbabies, just wish we had a chance for a proper chat and catch up.

Well ladies, I am going to be left on my own AGAIN! DP is off to St Petersburg for 2 weeks from Monday, and then another 2 weeks from beginning of January. I am torn between being pleased and proud, as he is off to direct at the Mariinsky (Kirov) theatre, and being super pissed off. I am expecting an amazing Russian Christmas present, and much making up for it.

I didn't get the freelance work I applied for - but feel ok about it, because it was a price thing really. And I could have reduced my fee, but I didn't want to - not worth missing out on time with B, childcare costs, etc etc. I do have some other jobs to apply for, and should be doing that instead of mumsnetting! Oh well....

Oooh look, we're almost at the end of the thread - anyone got any suggestions for a suitably festive new title?

hollyivypoppy34 · 02/12/2008 20:20

how aboout june 2008 - all I want for christmas is a good nights sleep?

hollyivypoppy34 · 02/12/2008 20:21

good name though - and exciting re your dh (and you so desereve a good present) -shame about the freelance work though.
am sat here waiting for dh to walk through door so I can wolf my dinner...

mulledwhinegums · 02/12/2008 20:24

Poppy, enjoy dinner!!!!!

abdnhikinginawinterwonderland · 02/12/2008 20:32

Amber - what about using the fact that amber is a precious substance? AmberFrankinsenceandMyrrh? hmm, sounded better in my head...

Love BitofaSnowQueen and mulledwhinegums - oooh! all these are so great.

poppy - glad you're a bit broody I was at playgroup today and someone brought their two week old. I was relieved to find out that I'm not broody - not sure we can afford three.

whinegums - You should hang out with josey and I sometime (seriously - we're not too far away I think) (and Essie - you're on your own a bunch too aren't you?) Who else is in the "hold the fort" club?

debinaustria · 02/12/2008 20:33

Love the Christmas names, and the new thread title!

Help me out with mine - I have no inspiration

Whinegums that sounds exciting for your dh - what's he directing?

debinaustria · 02/12/2008 20:35

ah - too much quality family time here!!!!dh is here alllll the time!Luckily we get on very well otherwise it would be a disaster

Rolf · 02/12/2008 20:54

ooh Whinegums - how exciting. What's he directing?

I'm holding the fort at the moment - DH is in London although he's back later on tonight. It's so much easier now that he has his lovely study at home - he's around much more and we get to see each other during the day, not just late when we're both tired.

Glad you're broody Poppy

bitofasnowqueen · 02/12/2008 21:13

Ooh, I love bitofasnowqueen!

mulledwhinegums · 02/12/2008 21:18

He's directing Lucia di Lammermoor with Anna Netrebko in title role, and I think Gerghiev conducting. So very exciting - and it certainly would be if I could go.

Aberdeen - you and Josey are actually in Aberdeen aren't you? Or do you mean cyberspace hanging out?! I'm in Glasgow - used to get to Aberdeen quite a lot for work, but haven't been for ages.

It is sooooo cold tonight! Have heating on full blast and still freezing so off for hot bath and into jammies!

abdnhikinginawinterwonderland · 02/12/2008 21:27

deb I'm not having too much luck with names for you, sorry!

whinegums Josey and I are pretty close to Aberdeen (I'm in it currently, but moving out of town in 2.5 weeks!) I guess Glasgow is far from here, but since everything is far from here, it doesn't sound too bad!

I'm off on vacation tomorrow - five days in Germany for my godson's christening. I'll catch up when I get back!

faireyqueenwithsnow · 02/12/2008 21:36

debinaustria · 02/12/2008 22:08

Hi Fairy Queen

AH - have a great time

Whinegums - my Dh Nigel is very impressed, he is a composer and would do anything to get into musical theatre.I really hope he gets a break soon but it is such a competitive area.

Surely someone can think of a Christmas name for me????

DingDongAlipalisOnaAHigh · 02/12/2008 22:12

Welcome FaireyQueen. What is your DD called?

Scrabbled around and came up with a new name, best I could manage.

Amber have a great birthday and a lovely holiday with your two men.

Peter is really into rolling: today he has gone in the other direction and just about managed tummy to back. He seems very annoyed with the whole experience so far.

NoRoomAtThePenguin · 02/12/2008 22:19

I haven't read any posts yet, just wanted to share my new name!

debinaustria · 02/12/2008 22:23

OMG I am racking my brains, at the moment i am "can'tthinkofanythingchristmassyinaustria" !!!
