Drama, me and DH are always laughing when the BBC economics editor comes on - can't remember his name, but he is on ALL the time now with the downturn! I hope is on good overtime rates .
Deb that really sucks, it is horrid being in an industry that suffers in a downturn, very worrying. I can rest easy cos there is always a rise in criminal activity in a recession so DH keeps busy . But they are shedding lots of jobs where I work - newspapers/mags sales also suffer in downturn. I am hoping that will be good for me tho cos hopefully they'll agree to me coming back one day a week cos it is cheaper for them.
Sponge, that sounds really encouraging with the water... does that mean that he is not waking out of hunger? If it is not hunger then weaning wouldn't help.
Maybe it's just habit. I really hope he sleeps better tonight after taking more milk this morn (and hopefully for rest of day).
Re sharing childcare LOL at 'only at weekends when he is home' . Yeah it really naffs me off that I have to do EVERYTHING when DH is at work . When he is at home he is happy to change nappies etc (I do one, he does the other usually) and fun stuff like playing with them while I get on with other things (that's a godsend actually). He has even made them breakfast and fed them so he is good. The key is showing him how to do stuff eg make their food, it is easier just to do it myself but in the long term it helps if he can do it without me needing to show him.
Weaning is going so much better for us now. I am mixing everything with loads of milk and baby rice. They even had cod again the other day. Going to try cannelini beans today cos Esther is still waking for a feed at 10pm and 5.30am (Theo is sleeping from 8-8). She doesn;t eat as well as him so got to try to get something substantial down her! Unless her waking is habit too .
I have found these great fruit things called Nature's Finest. They are fruit pieces (peach, papaya) in juice with no added anything (only antioxidant which I assume is fine ). I use them for breakfasts, get two days' worth of breakfast out of them (for both babs). I was shocked to find peaches (not even organic) were £2.99 for four in Tesco . These nature's finest were about £1.20 a tub. They were in the tinned fruit aisle. I should get commission!
