Hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 09:46

try pouring it onto a spoon norty and you'll see just what I mean

Jammy, sorry your sister has been a bit insensitive about money. she probably just didn't even think that it might be an issue for you. Hopefully she will be able to repay the favours at some time.

Still no effing baby. I go to bed everynight hopeful that it'll all kick off, and then wake at 4:30 needing a wee and that's it.

We have another 3 women in labour on the thread today; so nine babies before we even hit November!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 10:38

We have another November baby on the way .....blardy queue jumpers!!

Now I know how foxy et al felt last year when others were having babies ahead of them

JammyOLantern · 31/10/2008 10:57

Thanks Daisy. I just thought it was a bit rude. OK, I asked if she was OK for going out for lunch as I had a 2 for 1 voucher for a local restaurant, so that could have been read as an offer for me to take her out. But I thought she might have offered to at least pay for her own flipping ice cream. She's got enough money for lunch and dinner out in London today and a trip to the aquarium there (which I don't - I was invited along too but had to decline) so she's not absolutely penniless.

Sorry, I started ranting again

And hope Virgil doesn't keep you waiting too much longer Daisy. Must be frustrating.

Jamlet is having her 2nd trial session at her new nursery today (seeing as we couldn't go to London). She had an hour there on Weds, with me there too. She was happy to go in today, but got upset when I put her down after she's sat on my knee for about 10-15 minutes. So a member of staff took her for a cuddle while I left. She was howling as I went out, you could hear her all along the corridoor . They're having her for the rest of the morning and she's having her lunch there too. I hope she settles down OK.

LittleMissNorty · 31/10/2008 11:16

Aww Jammy...I'm sure she'll be OK. K went back to nursery today, not having been in since last Friday, and DH said she was a bit bewildered, even just having a few days off. Is this nursery a bit closer to you?

Any news on DHs work front yet? Really hope its sorted quickly.

And for your sister....that would've annoyed me as well....but I would have dropped a heavy hint! A bit insensitive of her really considering the work situation atm.

Daisy, my sister is in same position as you....but 8 days to go and is wavering about VBAC as she just wants it OUT!

JammyOLantern · 31/10/2008 11:22

Well, I told nursery to ring me if she was inconsolable, and they haven't. So my guess is that she'll have settled a bit after I left. It is often the way that if I'm there she'll be all clingy but will just get on if I'm gone. She should be having lunch soon anyway, so that should take her mind off things.

FiendishFairyFay · 31/10/2008 12:12

Hi everyone. Not been around much recently as DD has been poorly so we are my parents' which rather curtails my internet addiction . Have taken her to the doc this morning who said her chest is very rattly so she has ABs, and fingers crossed will perk up. DS is also beginning to cough so am keeping him in and warm in the hope that it won't develop further.

Dh and I ahve also decided that we are going to move! We are going to come and live in the next village along from where my parents live. The schools are better, we can have a much bigger house, etc, etc. I am very that I'll be leaving my friends, DD's great pre-school, etc but it's the right time to move, before the DCs get settled into schools, etc. It is only about a 40 min drive from where we live now, so I can at least go and visit fairly easily. It is a hige decision though and I do keep having big wobbles.

Right better go, have good weekends everyone

RiallyEeRiaee · 31/10/2008 12:22

Hope you DCs are ok faiy. I like being close to my parents (most of the time)[sile]

I think I would have been a bit annoyed by your sis too jammy.

hi norty.

RiallyEeRiaee · 31/10/2008 12:22

and hi to you too daisy, but I kind of thought that wet without saying

JammyOLantern · 31/10/2008 13:09

Exciting Fairy! Hope it works well for you and the DC - I'm sure it will.

Jamlet survived OK. She needed pretty much 1-to-1 attention apparently, but was OK and ate her lunch well.

JammyOLantern · 31/10/2008 15:43

We've just been to the park. Jamlet had a fab time in her new waterproofs (Photos on FB). She is asleep on my lap now though, having worn herself out.

RiallyEeRiaee · 31/10/2008 16:02

we're just back from the supermarket, having been to vote in the pumpkin comp and taken DS1 to the hairdressers (they didn't mention his nits!)

Have to bake chocolate cake for tea now.

RiallyEeRiaee · 31/10/2008 16:16

aargh, I don't know what to entertain them with. This was a silly idea. DH has got a shift at the hotel so they can't do the bat boxes with him not here to supervise. Leaf pictures I think (oh so not suitable for 11 yos) and star gazing after tea...

HELP!

LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 16:44

Afternoon all

rant on jammy; it does seem off that because you paid for stuff for her you couldn't afford to go to the Aquarium with them; I'd be a bit pissed off too.

Hope the pumpkins win you some prizes Ria.

Laboury vibes for your sister Norty; it'll be really nice the two of you having babies of a similar age.

I've had a nice day; friends over this morning and then went to the park with DH and the DCs. After feeding the ducks for a bit, they went off for a walk round the big lake, and I went for lunch to the lakeside cafe and sat in the sunshine reading my book for an hour and a half till they got back, drinking tea and chilling with my pains!!! I've now got pains coming roughly every five minutes and every third or fourth one is taking ym breath away and making me stop and hang onto something. I was worried about a UTI but now am worried that it might be scar adhesions causing all the pain. Am in two minds whether to call someone or nnot . IF it is a UTI, I need some ABS, but if not, I don't want them telling me that nothing is happening and all this pain is for fuck all

sorry for me post....apologies

LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 16:48

sorry fairy, missed you out there

Moving is a huge decision, but it'll be good to have family close. I really miss mine being a five minute car ride away. And as you say, you're not a million miles, in London terms, away from your friends so can probably still visit all the same baby groups etc.

CAn we help at all with looking at property porn? I love looking at property and all those relocation type shows on daytime TV!

RiallyEeRiaee · 31/10/2008 16:54

bugger, I'm making the Tana Ramsey cake off another thread, but there is no method. Anyone know how I make the icing? It's 5oz double cream and 5oz plain chocolate. Presumably I melt the chocolate, but do I melt it with the cream or whisk the cream and fold it in??? Any thoughts would be good. Now I remember why I don't cook. The bloody lasagne is still frozen too.

FiendishFairyFay · 31/10/2008 17:05

Oooooo er Daisy, that doesn't sound pleasant. No property porn I'm afraid as we are going to buy a house that my Dad has recently been renovating, so it's not on the market.

Ria - I would ahve thought that you would put the cream in a saucepan with broken up choc and gently heat together.

SputnikonaBroomstick · 31/10/2008 17:05

Poor you Daisy. If it goes on I think I'd get seen by someone, ask your doula maybe in the meantime.

Sorry Ria, I rarely make cakes.

RiallyEeRiaee · 31/10/2008 17:14

that is what I'll try FF, thanks. It can always be fancy chocolate pudding if it goes wrong!

JammyOLantern · 31/10/2008 17:16

Daisy, get some advice, every 5 mins must be worth checking?

Ria, good luck with the pumpkins. I just remembered we got a diddy one in last weeks veg box, so I have scooped it out to give us some pumpkin for dinner and carved out a face and put a mini torch in . Jamlet got bored watching me scoop but loved the effect once the torch went in.

LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 17:28

ria, I would imagine that you should melt the chocolate and then whisk the double cream and fold into teh chocolate. Depends whether it's a frosting or a drizzle I suppose.

I'm sure this is TMI , but knowing you lovely lot as well as I do, I have just had the biggest outpouring from my bowels ever......I didn;t know it was possoble to have that amount of poo in me

Do you think this might be it??????

LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 17:30

fairy at least you don;t have to worry about being gazumped or battling it out with others to get to the property.

will you rent yours out or sell? what's the marekt like down there at the minute?

JammyOLantern · 31/10/2008 17:30

Could be Daisy....

FiendishFairyFay · 31/10/2008 17:53

Sounds 'promising' Daisy..........

We will sell, the market's not great but a low market also means we can legitimately buy the other one from my Dad for a reasonably low price, and not pay too much stamp duty, etc. My Dad isn't interested in a profit, just getting the money back that he has spent. Apparently while he was renovating it he was hoping that we would want to move in one day and be nearer them. I had no idea, and am really touched.

RiallyEeRiaee · 31/10/2008 17:54

I don't think I ever had a big pre-labour poo, especially not with baggins

RiallyEeRiaee · 31/10/2008 17:56

aww, bless your Dad fairy.

according to google, ganache is made with cream and chocolate (sorry to those who knew that) I'm feeling all Juliet Bino-whatsit
