Hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ohforfoxsake · 05/11/2008 09:08

Oh OK then Annobal. You've twisted my arm. Shall we come and stay with you?

Lovely to have you back

NattyTomAndEllen · 05/11/2008 09:11

thanks annobal, was a nice surprise this morning had convinced myself it was gonna be negative lol

annobal · 05/11/2008 09:11

Hi Foxy. You know you're always welcome

Ohforfoxsake · 05/11/2008 09:20

Ahh, nice to 'see' you again Natty. I've been chasing you and poking you on FB Congratulations! Bloody hell, you are one determined lady!

Ellen in a bed?! Blimey! How is that going?

Did you move house?

That's shit about the money. And you too Ria. Jump up and down and make a hell of a lot of noise. There's no way you should lose out if their security is lacking.

What bank are you with Ria? Can't believe they've said theres no way you'll get the money back! for you!

Ohforfoxsake · 05/11/2008 09:22

Annobal, we must be due a trip soon! Am thinking Canada next year, if I can do a house-swap.

Anytime you are thinking about coming to London, you are welcome here. And anytime you want to house-swap let me know.

annobal · 05/11/2008 09:41

Ooh sounds good Foxy. If we can afford it we may come back for a few weeks at the end of March (but will probably be in Manc most of the time).

Ria, sorry, didn't read properly. I hate banks .

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/11/2008 10:00

Morning all. Hi Annobal, good to see you. I'm a bit odd in that I don't have the desire to go to Oz that most people do. I'm sure it's lovely and all, but there are many places I'd like to see that are a lot easier to get to, so I think I'll see them first! Having said that we did go to Japan before I got pregnant, and that was AMAZING, despite being a PITA to get to. And anyway, my BIL is in Oz, so a good reason to stay away

Sorry folks are still ill. I coughed so much last night I literally PMSC . And DH had "loose digestion" shall we say (trying to be polite) But he is off doing day 1 of his 3 day contract today for ridiculously large £££ And the thing of setting up a company with 7 of his ex-colleagues is going ahead - might be based in our house for a few months so could be interesting. Luckily moast can work from home on their own, but when a few of them need to get together, it might be here, and we might have stacks of computers set up in the spare room to run it all!

Jamlet is napping Took her ages to settle, so I just got on with a few light chores to help me ignore her . And you know how you do one thing and then realise that the next bit looks a right state in comparison so you do that as well? Well I ended up washing the kitchen floor!

Ohforfoxsake · 05/11/2008 10:09

Glad things are going well for your DH Jammy. Seems to have really turned it round to his advantage.

Annobal, year after next we'll be in Manc, so same will apply as of 2010!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/11/2008 11:25

Yay! The new nursery supplies disposable nappies, and charges you for them whether you use them or not (though you can of course supply your own washables). And after some deliberation we decided to use their nappies, even though I felt guilty about it, as it meant less washing at home and DH particularly did fell that we were paying for them so we might as well use them. Anyway as I said I was feeling guilty, but have just found out that the brand they use is an "eco friendly" one, so now I don't have to feel quite so bad

LackaDAISYcal · 05/11/2008 11:50

Oh, natty

congratulations for you, and fingers crossed all will be well this time around.

glad things are looking up for dh jammy; you sound much happier now that he is happier

good to have you back annobal

where's bumper? she's not been around this week.

milk well and truly in here and DS2 (still feels weird typng that) fed all bloody night (finally settled at 5am!!); but good news is latch is much much better and the soreness is going

my bottom is still very sore and my pelvic floor not happy......still got very little bladder control (like none at all ) and I can't even feel anything when I do my pelvic floors). Is this normal for a forceps delivery? and when can i expect it to return?......need more pads and don't know whether to get sanitary towels or tena lady

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/11/2008 12:14

Jamlet loves eating an apple or pear, but eats the whole thing, core, pips and all. Now I know I've done this as an adult, but I presume it'll be ok for her too? She turns her nose up at cut up apple pieces, loves munching on a whole one like a big girl

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/11/2008 12:15

And just realised I didn't add my congrats to Natty Sorry - congratulations!!!

Riallybigbangandflash · 05/11/2008 12:59

congratulations natty

fecknig awful night here with unsettled baggins and upset DS2, and had to be out , dressed smartly for great aunts internment by 9.15, and of course realised I didn't have a poppy at 9.10. It was ok and we had 2 hour coffee afterwards (no kids)

Obviously home now and really unmotivated as I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go. And DH is out tonight so I will have firework stress to deal with on my own

and I'm starving and there's nothing to eat.

sounds good for you DH jammy

Ohforfoxsake · 05/11/2008 14:22

Jammy, have you got an apple corer? Sorts the problem and makes the apple easier to hold in their pudgy wee hands

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/11/2008 14:48

fab idea foxy! Thanks

Have set up a plant pot of soil half way down garden ready for fireworks tonight. Hope this drizzle stops though. We tried going out to the playground but it was a bit too wet so we didn't stay long.

Riallybigbangandflash · 05/11/2008 15:52

It's horrible here again, and can't take they boys to my mums in this weather

my eyes are really annoyingly itchy too.

I did an hour of OU stuff, just getting started really, but I've started

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/11/2008 16:15

Well done on the OU start Ria

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/11/2008 16:52

deep breaths - I nearly lost it giving jamlet her tea. She was having right little paddies with every forkful. Wouldn't be fed, couldn't feed herself Couldn't even let her finger feed as it was jacket spud & beans (good bonfire night tucker!) and potato was too hot for her to pick up, but she wouldn't let me cut it up to cool as she thought I was going to feed it to her.

Bumperlicious · 05/11/2008 18:04

DH got a job!!! In a library working 2 days a week

OP posts:
HollyWeen · 05/11/2008 18:23

Well done to the DHs of Bumper and Jammy. Daisy I've posted your cocoon, should be with you tomorrow or Fri

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/11/2008 19:11

exhaustedly. Congrats to Natty and to Bumper's Dh

I hate packing. I've only done a day's worth, which turned out to be 12 boxes and I'm bored and fed up with it already . The problem is the house doesn't even really look as if I've touched it. I'm also quite depressed by how badly it needs decorating. It's all done neutally but a few years with kids has really taken its toll and there are grubby marks and chipped paint everywhere. We are in 2 minds about whether we shell out money for a decorator or hope that someone wants it as it is and, if necessary, knock a bit off teh price to compensate.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/11/2008 19:19

thanks holly

we might even be up to going out by then.

fairy, I would give it all a good wash down once you have decluttered enough and then take a view on it then. I think all these TV shows where people stage their homes give buyers a pretty unrealistic view of things but ime most buyers have the sense to see past this and will want to put their own stamp on it anyway .

yay for your DH bumper; I'd love to work in a library but thought you needed quite onerous librarian qualifications so have never pursuesd it.

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/11/2008 19:52

Thanks Daisy, that's the decision I've more or less come to - that together with some stategically placed vases/plant pots in front of the places where DS has peeled away the wallpaper

Riallybigbangandflash · 05/11/2008 20:30

fecking well done Mr Bumper, and even better he'll be able to hide your best-selling novel so no-one can borrow it and they all go out and buy it instead

pah to bonfire night, though baggins and DS2 are asleep just now.

pah to packing too, I would go with a good wash down too as many people want to put their own stamp on places rather than waste your money on decorating that might only be there a week after you go.

hi everyone

Ohforfoxsake · 05/11/2008 21:15

bloody well done Ria!

Well done Mr Bumper!

Agree Fairy, a wash down (one of those special Pledge sponges - you know the ones, gets everything off the walls) will do the job. Set the children onto the paintwork with baby wipes (comes up a treat).

Just got back from nice neighbourhood fireworks. Better put kids to bed I suppose.
