Thought as the messages were coming in thick & fast I´d start new thread. Don´t know if it´ll work though. Fingers crossed.

Hehehe Denny. Glad to hear you're still in one piece!

I'm rather excited, as I'm going for afternoon tea at the Dorchester with my best friend tomorrow afternoon. Have no idea whatsoever as to what I should wear.

Gave R some of those Babylicious frozen cubes tonight, and he loves it! It is SO convenient, I'm not going to bother using Plum at home ever again (and is obviously a lot cheaper).

MommyHasaHeadache · 24/10/2008 21:49

Ooooh very nice Sal! Enjoy!

Where do you get your Bablicious cubes from?

Sorry to hear about Jack, but good to hear he is responding well to his medication.

Denny - eeek! And ow! And poor you! Thank goodness she is taking the bottle now!

SalLikesCoffee · 24/10/2008 21:59

Hi MommyHasaHeadache, and thanks! Wondered where you are. (And where's Ladybee and the others? I'm obviously way too addicted! ).

Anyway - Babylicious: Waitrose does it (I order through Ocado). I hate the taste of bottled purees, but this is actually quite nice for a puree. And it is great that you can use as many (or little) cubes as you like (and can mix tastes as well obv). Oh, and it only takes a minute in the microwave. Highly recommended. (Reminder to self - collect commission from Babylicious )

I'm here! Been a little busy the last few days as DH has had the week off, which has been soooo nice! Shame, Gigi started getting very clingy with me come feeding time/bedtime/waking up in the night time, making DH feel a little sad thinking his little girl doesn't want him. So this week has been all about bonding big time with her. He has done pretty much all her feeds, nappies, dressing her, undressing her, bathing her, putting her to bed, waking up for her, and the difference it has made is wonderful! Really well worth the effort! Am SO with him - he really makes me love him more and more everyday!

We have just watched the scariest movie - 'Black Water' - hectic!!!

MommyHasaHeadache · 24/10/2008 22:11

BTW Sal - when do you leave for SA? So !!

scorpio1 · 24/10/2008 22:14

Thats lovely about your dh

When my dh comes home Mimi ignores me, lol

My tummy hurts

SalLikesCoffee · 24/10/2008 22:29

Oh that's wonderful, MHH! It's so wonderful when our husbands are so close to the babies! I love my dad dearly, but he was definitely not involved with any nappy changes, I can promise you that! It's really nice that your dh wants to be that involved with her life, and I guess it'll also make it easier if you ever have to be away over bed time.

Hehehe Scorpio, had to laugh at Mimi switching alliances when your dh is home! Quite the traitors they can be - except R is so bad, usually when he sees the babysitter he gets all excited and seems to be impatiently waiting for dh and i to go out on our date so that the fun can begin! Gmpf!

Try a nice hot bath for your tummy. My knees have also started aching again. There's a lot to be said for pregnancy!

SalLikesCoffee · 24/10/2008 22:33

Oh MommyHasaH, re SA: R and I are flying out next Saturday night. Then we're sleeping at my aunt's in Pretoria on Sunday night, flying to Port Elizabeth on Monday morning, where my parents pick us up just before 2pm. I can imagine it being quite exhausting! But it'll be worth it once we're there! And at least the coming back will mean dh with us, and we're driving down to Cape Town over a couple of days and flying directly to London.

ThePFJ · 25/10/2008 10:58

Morning all...

Jack seems better but his poo is very weird... must be the antibiotics. He woke me up at 4am for a bottle, he had one at 9pm night before...so not bad I guess.

When I stepped out of the room a minute ago i think I heard amidst all his burbling a ba ba/ma ma/da da noise... could he be ready for his first word?? Did I miss his first word... or is my insomnia just driving me mad... hmm.

Have put pot of tea on and some toast for you morning people. Help yourselves.

SalLikesCoffee · 25/10/2008 11:46

Thanks for the tea and toast, much appreciated!

Great news re Jack. You're probably right re poo/meds combination, so I guess as everything else seems good no need to worry.

on his burbling! How cute. It must be so weird once they start talking, I still think they're tiny babies most of the time! Here I've been trying to persuade Roelof to do the Mamma / Pappa (Afrikaans) thing, but he laughs in my face, the little bugger!

ThePFJ · 25/10/2008 11:58

hehe... same here most of the time.. Jack giggles at me and spends most of his time blowing raspberries (getting spit all over his face o.o) and making eek EEK noises. As I said though, lastely his noises have been getting more and more varied. Everyday I do the 'say Mama' 'say Dada' bit... hope something happens soon.

Peachy · 25/10/2008 16:16

PFJ glad he's a bit better . BAs has ahd that bug (assume its the ame anyway) and ahsnt yet shaken it so definitely worth giving Jack the ab's- (am avoiding giving Bas ab's because his risk factors are so different of course, but its been almost 2 weeks now so may have to!).

We also get Ma / Pa / Ba too- its fab isn't it? Lovely to see them growiing (but I found his little newborn aht yesterday and was so close to tears LOL )

ok gotta go- wakey baby- on my own with bas this evening as the rest out- bliss now but i will be bored soon!

scorpio1 · 25/10/2008 16:19

Peachy - i looked in co-op today and they have small cartons, but choc & strawberry, not plain.

scorpio1 · 25/10/2008 16:19

My tummy hurts so very much

Peachy · 25/10/2008 18:15

Aw poor scorpio - hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks for lookin- good to know that I am not blind!> I am having it put in his statement I think, then they can go pole dance

scorpio1 · 25/10/2008 19:48

thats a good idea. Can you not decount some into a suitable container for the day?

I am pissed off; though i don't know why i'm wasting my energy. Dss is staying at my MIL house for the whole of half term - errrrr, i have 3 children here, 1 of whom you have never even met, they are dh's children too.....obviously being a parent of one NT 6 year old is very hard compared to my 3 - one who has SEN and one whom is still a baby. Obviously i have it easier.....i have sooooooo much RL support and help dontcha know

ARRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Every fucking holiday this happens. I am getting seriously cheesed off.

And...breathe.

scorpio1 · 25/10/2008 19:50

sorry I do realise some people do find it hard.....

oh you all know what i mean.

Peachy · 25/10/2008 20:44

LOL Scorpio

Mil's dontcha love them?

Actualy I rarel y criicise my Mummy but it gets my goat that she'd move the earth for my sister who has 1 (and pnd for five years I know i'm cruel) but had to go to babysit for her when I called distressed when we were told the extents of ds3's isssues ('i'll call you back'- yeah in 2 bloody days!). But I found out why at the Baptism- Dad and my oldest mate eulogisng about how capable I am! So I tidy up before visitors and don't tell people when I can't cope- big deal! (--and breathe lol)

What I mean is,
does she think that you are so capable she's not needed? You are capable but we all crack if we don't get a break I think

Or maybe she's like my MIL and needs a slap?

Peachy · 25/10/2008 20:46

that was meant to be

Disclaimer: Peachy does not endorse the battery of MIL's no matter how much of a pita they are

scorpio1 · 25/10/2008 20:47

Yes, Peachy, its exactly that. I don't need her, so......

but its not all about 'need' surely? She lives in Bridgwater - you know the distance, its not so far to meet Mimi is it??

Peachy · 25/10/2008 20:52

Does she?????? Do I know her? I bet I do! I now almost everyone back in Bridgy!

Maybe it's a Bridgy thing? We're not by nature the most perceptive of peoples? Have you asked her why?

scorpio1 · 25/10/2008 20:53

she is relative 'newby', about 4 years there now. You know my married name (on FB) - same surname.

DH is there now poor boy

scorpio1 · 25/10/2008 20:54

ooooh we should up there one time if you go there for some reason too and i could dump kids on MIL and we could go out, yeah!

scorpio1 · 25/10/2008 20:55

DH asked her why and she jsut skirts round it! Something about her DH working and not havin a favourite. oh i dunno.

Peachy · 25/10/2008 21:12

gawd poor your dh- I lived there (by the dcks mainly) 32 years

both my sisters still there

now you know which carnivals we do anyway!

actually if you do ever get there let me know- as my Mum lives there its the only babysitting I can get
