Biggest babies show is car crash tv and is making me ! It is pretty much saying that if you have a big baby you are a big fatty and eat junk food! I am not a big fatty and rarely eat junk food. Grrrr.....

Daisy, do you think you are immanent? How exciting!

Evening everyone else!

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:13

Yep Sputnik, thanks. There is a multiples thread I've posted on that's more for those pg with twins but has a couple of posters there who already have their babies so is helpful & Mars always in & out too . Looked @ the 'd'ye ever...' thread but it moves at such a pace I can't hope to keep up. Prob should do some research through the archives.

night lovely

I can understand that tallulah. One of our women is expecting twins and twin 1 is head down and twin 2 transverse and they have said she can have a natural delivery. I assumed from that that once twin 1 is delivered, twin 2 will turn themselves?

hi sputnik....I found your email from the other day; it was in my spam folder!

HollyWeen · 18/10/2008 22:15

I think I would do the same tallulah. Imagine going through a vaginal birth and then having a cs as well. It would be awful. Hopefully they are both behaving and you can have a lovely VB! Sorry if I've missed it, but do you know the sexes?

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:18

Yeah Daisy I read that they will let you labour naturally then they will try to turn 2nd twin after you have given birth to first.OUCH. If that fails then it's section time. I just thought no way. Unless both head down I don't want to go for it.

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:21

Hosp policy not to tell the sex. But I will keep looking carefully at each scan. Yeah, imagine how painful to have to recover from both type of birth at once. I think I can only cope with pain in one part of my body at a time.

HollyWeen · 18/10/2008 22:22

Tummy pain and fanjo pain would not be good! So lots of white baby grows in your house then?!

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:27

Haven't bought a thing yet. Still got all DD's stuff, & the early baby stuff is pretty much unisex though probably don't enough for 2. Can't face shopping though.

Bloodystumperlicious · 18/10/2008 22:27

Sounds like a lot to think about T. Have you spoken to your MW about the birth? Hope you are feeling ok.

Daisy you need to stop teasing us!

JBM I haven't got engorged at all yet, but it has only been a couple of weeks since I have been FT and she has been feeding on and off. Jammy said that when she stopped it was a couple of weeks before she got engorged, was that right?

HollyWeen · 18/10/2008 22:29

I didn't get engorged at all when I stopped feeding dd at about 14 months. I was down to 1 feed a day anyway and stopping didn't affect me at all (well apart from the fact that I felt reasonably human again after over a year of monthly tonsillitis!)

HollyWeen · 18/10/2008 22:30

Yes daisy, we don't want to know about any twingey pains until they are 30 secs long and 5 mins apart, ok?!

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:33

Hi Bumper. Haven't spoken to m/w - last hosp appt was supposed to have antenatal check, & had list of qusts. Appt @ 1:30, still hadn't been seen when was time for scan appt elsewhere in hosp @ 3pm. By the time that was over was 4pm, had a very grumpy DD with me & my poor mum so gave up & went home. So feeling pretty much in the dark. Hopefully this week's appt goes better & I get a clearer picture of what they expect to happen.

BTW, when DD decided to go cold turkey from 2-3 feeds a day I didn't get engorged at all. Think was only making milk as and when she suckled.

HollyWeen · 18/10/2008 22:38

Tallulah, that is rubbish making you wait for so long. I'm not surprised you gave up.

Sputnik · 18/10/2008 22:40

That's crap Tallulah

LackaDAISYcal · 18/10/2008 22:41

tallulah, I have some unisex newborn stuff that will probably be too small for virgil, including some white terry babygros and a stack of vests. I'll send some stuff up for you

Have they talked about possible CS dates with you yet?

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:42

It'scos it's the hosp clinic. I would really rather go to my community m/w team or just see my GP. But I am under consultant led care cos of the twin thing & all the scans. Is a PITA - feel am getting worse care in a way. I haven't seen a m/w yet.

HollyWeen · 18/10/2008 22:45

Really tallulah? That would terrify me. I would trust a mw with my life, not so much doctors! Is there any way you can request to be under mw care?

LackaDAISYcal · 18/10/2008 22:45

what crap service tallulah . I would've thought they would have done shared care?....and i thought glasgow were quite good for maternity services?

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:48

Thanks Daisy - would appreciate, but wait & see, you forget how small they are really.

No one has discussed anything with me yet. Closest was this conv. with consultant:

Her - did you have normal, trouble-free delivery last time?
Me- Yes, no problems.
Her - Well be a bit of a different story this time around.

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:50

Have to have scan at each appt afaik so m/w team don't have facilities & hosp run twin clinic so see all multiples on same afternoon. Everyone needing scans, extra monitoring etc, it's chaos.

HollyWeen · 18/10/2008 22:50

That doesn't fill you with confidence does it tallulah? Blimey! Surely twins is a normal occurrence and not some sort of unusual medical condition?!

LackaDAISYcal · 18/10/2008 22:54

I should be finished with newborn stuff before you give birth though, and according to the registrar I saw, baby is a "good size"

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:56

Yep - doesn't really fill with confidence to be treated as high risk from outset. Still it does mean I get scans galore whilst everyone else gets one 12 week booking scan and that's that so some perks.

HollyWeen · 18/10/2008 22:58

It must be lovely to get to say hello to your babies so often! Are they ID?

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/10/2008 22:59

Thanks Daisy - yep sure do hope I don't need any newborn stuff for a least a couple of months. And sounds like Virgil keen to make an appearance
