I'm very impressed with pumpkin creativeness. I'm afraid Halloween doesn't happen here.

Am also very impressed at avoiding temptation to buy more plastic tat toys

JammyOLantern · 25/10/2008 19:37

Sorry you didn't get to the farm shop Ria, and that your boys are playing up. Hope you have a better day tomorrow. In fact, hope we ALL have a better day tomorrow.

Didn't feel like restraint Norty. Just common sense: we haven't got the money at the moment (well we have but we are trying to keep our savings intact). And Xmas isn't so far away and we know she'll get loads then. And it wasn't like she was hassling us to buy her things. She would get excited by something and enjoy holding/playing with it, but then be quite happy to put it back on the shelf - it was all just a big game to her

JammyOLantern · 25/10/2008 19:39

Hi Fairy. Feeling any better?

We don't "do" halloween as such, a local shop runs a competition for the kids, and as there's bugger all else happens here it's just a nice activity for them and nice to support the shop for running it.

DS1 is pissed off with me because I won't let him go out on Friday night. I am hoping to find something to do to take his mind off it. There is a night walk with spooky stories at the forestry, but it's a bit expensive for a non-special occasion. We usually just go to my mums and hide in the back room

I got to watch a bit of strictly tonight. baggins won't go to sleep though and is trashing the living room.

Don't feel guilty Elvira.
We like lego too. Well we have Duplo at the moment. That was one of the other things jamlet got excited about this afternoon - the boxes of Duplo on the shelves.

Changing the subject, I did an audit of our freezer this afternoon, and we have about 50+ meals (each for 2 people) stashed away. All bought at reduced price (apart from some lamb heart which was cheap enough anyway )

FiendishFairyFay · 25/10/2008 20:26

Blimey Jammy, that's impressive. That should keep you going for a while

I am feeling a bit better, thanks. DD was actually very well behaved today, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Bloodystumperlicious · 25/10/2008 20:29

Bloody hell, how big is your freezer !

Elvira, don't feel guilty. Sounds like Dh bought it on himself! You deserve a break. We all bloody deserve a break!

I'm going to look for duplo at the next NCT sale. I'm helping out on the friday then hopefully Lcy is coming down on the saturday and well go along together.

DD seems ok, but DH forgot to give her calpol when he put her to bed hopefully she will be ok. She looks like she has got bucked teeth with her big fat lip .

JammyOLantern · 25/10/2008 20:35

Hope your DD is fine Bumper, and you get a good night despite the lack of calpol. I just had to go settle jamlet. Quite unusual for her ( hope this isn't an omen for the rest of the night).

We have a full height upright freezer. You can fit a LOT of stuff in it . Trouble is it's easy to lose track of what we have got stashed away; hence the need to audit from time to time. I found some fish from January .

Oh Bumper, I have just put all the info together for my DH to do the Secret Santa stuff in the morning and I realise I don't know your surname either. Can you email it to me please (or don't bother if you don't mind getting a parcel that's addressed to XXX )

JammyOLantern · 25/10/2008 20:41

I just won an auction on ebay for some fabric skittles for jamlet for Xmas.

Bloodystumperlicious · 25/10/2008 20:43

Done Jammy. Great news on the skittles!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 20:44

does anyone know of any BFCs or peer support groups who are local to King's in London?

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 20:47

jammy, we defrosted our freezer in the week and found some puree cubes from last December and a bag of EBM from last October ....as well as some fish and chicken that had registered to vote it was so old and some tupperwares full of something indescribable....it all went in the bin.

Must try harder to keep it in check.

RiallyEeRiaee · 25/10/2008 20:48

is he really going to use his chosen method of matching us up jammy??

OP posts:
Sputnik · 25/10/2008 20:56

I was wondering that too Ria.

Sorry to hear of everyone's plans going wrong today. I did get to the hairdresser but I have a stinking cold.

Just took DH to the station so he can go to the airport, he is off on his travels for a week so I'll probably be boring you all even more than usual this week.

JammyOLantern · 25/10/2008 20:57

Ria. I don't know. But I doubt it.

So the money we made from the NCT sale the other week has paid for the stair gate, a couple of new drinking cups for jamlet, the skittles, and an all in one waterproof thing for her

Thanks Bumper.

JammyOLantern · 25/10/2008 20:58

So what did you have done Sputnik?

RiallyEeRiaee · 25/10/2008 21:01

I'm starving. Am off to visit my mum. hope she has wine.

Sputnik · 25/10/2008 21:04

cputnik, I like!
I do feel a bit cputnik tonight.

FiendishFairyFay · 25/10/2008 21:05

Good news on skittles, Jammy.

Can't help on the King's BF support but I think Andiem used to work there, so maybe she can help, if she's lurking?

Come back Andiem, we miss you

Bloodystumperlicious · 25/10/2008 21:05

oooh, do you perm? How does it look? What's your hair like usually

FiendishFairyFay · 25/10/2008 21:06

[Grin] for new hair Sputnik, new hair always makes me feel better

JammyOLantern · 25/10/2008 21:07

I have an appointment for 3 weeks time to have it cut and coloured. Am unsure what to do about the colour. Part of me thinks I should just cancel it and let the grey natural me shine through, but half the hair is still redd-ish from previous colouring and it does look a bit odd. So part of me thinks, well get it coloured, but nearer my natural colour, so I can let it go more easily in the future if I wish. But another part of me thinks sod it, get a load more colour plastered on and the brighter the better!!

FiendishFairyFay · 25/10/2008 21:09

the brighter the better Jammy
