shitty days all round it seems . Hope you get the potty training back on track fairy. I remember DS went backwards for what seemed ages as well, but was in reality probably only a few weeks.

This is a horrible time of year, the DCs are knackered from being back at school/preschool and this is a really long term. All the teachers I know are beyond themselves as well.

sorry DS isn't well sputnik; it's horrible when they won't eat and are grumpy.

Bumper, there's all sorts of bugs rife here at the minute and the chances are she would have caught it whether she was still being BF or not. Don't beat yourself up about it young lady ; you have done a bloody good job given the troubles you had in the beginning

foxy, your changer will be nestled up beside my downloading cable I'm sure...now if only we can find them.

DS has just been up and was mucking about. I got cross and he stormed upstairs slamming the stairgates and his bedroom door and woke DD up who has been howling....aaargh.

FiendishFairyFay · 23/10/2008 20:44

Daisy/Foxy, if you find your downloading cable and charger, please can you send my charger home too, as it's been awol for months, the embarrassing thing is that I only bought it 6 months ago to replace the original one which I also misplaced and still haven't found

Sputnik · 23/10/2008 20:52

So thats where our draws full of unidentified cables, transformers, chargers etc come from

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 21:24

What about a charger/transformer/cable reunited service? There's a toys reunited on here; why not electrical cables? We have drawers full of old phone and camera chargers going back years

Should I suggest it to MNHQ?

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 21:49

bumper....you need to post on THIS THREAD before tomorrow for the halloween competition. I think yours is the clear winner this year.

HollyWeen · 23/10/2008 22:02

I just entered my name! Might as well!

Bless trace, hope she is ok. I didn't realise she has to stay up with chloe. She must be exhausted . I wish I lived closer.

Sorry for the shitty days everyone. I think we have all got to the stage where our small people know what they want, but know quite know how to get it! Resulting in pissed off babies and pissed off mums! I have had a bad one too. Dd is playing up atm and she is driving me potty!

Have fun on the IOW foxy. If you have any spare time on the way back (not that you will I'm sure) gimme a call!

I had a lovely surprise when I got back from toddlers this morning. A big box of Organix goodies for my group was waiting for me on the doorstep! The lovely lady has sent me loads of goodies! There is about 7 boxes of cereal bars, 7 boxes of biscuits, raisins, loads of bags of those crisp snack thingys and more! It is wonderful! I did have to stop my dd from tucking in! She would have eaten the whole box full if I'd have let her!

I'm off to have my bedtime snack and it's off to bed with my sleepy self!

Love you all xxx

Hi everyone! i've been a lurker and its about time i say hello to all you "hairy truckers!". I'm a June 07 mom and now an Oct 08 mom as well. I like your thread very much with all the lovely, funny and unique ppl in it. I've also found it very helpful as my dd is the same age as your dcs. Hope y'all and your dcs are doing fine.

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 08:06

hi mammajullah

Bloodystumperlicious · 24/10/2008 08:20

Hello mamajullah, what made you decide to post, did you finally find you can get a word in edgeways?! Have you had your october baby yet? Give us the details! Glad you've joined us anyway.

I entered the competition but I may have been too late . Only did it this morning. Thanks for the vote of confidence though daisy

Morning all. And Helllooooo Maamajullah! Nice to meet you.

OMG, the state of jamlet's nappy this morning (bleurh, not envy)! Her first poop was a bit hard and difficult, but then the "blockage" well and truly cleared! I've never seen so much poo in one go Guess it was that curry and all the fibre in the core of the pear she munched through last night.

Just had a quick visit up to her new nursery to drop off the forms, introduce DH to the manager, and arrange intro visits for next week. Then the week after that she starts there properly! So that's just 2 days left for her at her current nursery. I'm going to make a card to send in on her last day to thank them all and say goodbye and was thinking of making a cake or biscuits too. Or is that likely to be frowned upon by the baby food police? I'm sure they said she'd had birthday cake the other week, so it shoule be ok I reckon.

Bloodystumperlicious · 24/10/2008 09:45

How about sugar free banana bread I make this regularly and it's yummy!

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 09:53

Oooh, that looks good Bumper. I knew you'd have something up your sleeve! Must be feeling a bit dim this morning though. I looked at the ingredients "8oz Nana" and first thought "what's Nana?" then "Nooooo, you can't put your nanna in!"

Btw, talking of goodies, agree that that pack of Organix stuff sounds fab Holly.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 10:03

morning all

hi mamajullah . What's it like with a toddler and a newborn then? I'll be joining you in, oh......a few days weeks and am very nervous about how DD will be with the baby . it'll be interesting to hear your experiences.

congratulations on your LO as well

yuk on the ole poo front jammy; we had one like that last week...nasty nasty nasty. hope the nursery visit goes well. I'm sure the jamlet will love it. Cakes perfectly acceptable for the occasional treat.

bumper I think the comp was open till the end of today. shortlist will be announced on Monday and I hope you're on it. You'll have my vote (sorry jammy and holly)

Is there any significance in the fact that after a fair few weeks of insomnia and sleeplessness I'm suddenly sleeping much much better? . I feel like a nervous first time mum with all this "am I, aren't I in labour?" nonsense.

Any lidl shoopers or lidl sceptics even; they are doing lovely seafood specials from Monday; lobsters for £4.99, crab, nice fish etc. It looks lovely.

DH went to sainsbos last night and has stocked up on some big ready meals like lasagne and pasta bakes for when the baby is here, but also got me lots of yummy food for the weekend so I don't have to think about going out to the shops whilst he and DS are away. He is a star; he also made me laugh lots last night and we had a really good evening together. Reminded me why I fell in love with him in the first place . (I actually think he is just demob happy, but no matter, whatever the reason, I like it!)

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 10:06

and hi holly....forgot about you there!

I love the apple and cinnamon rice cakes. when I buy them for DD, she has about four out of the packet and I eat the rst, but they are sooo flippin expensive it's only an occasional treat.

My cold has come back as well and I feel really chesty this morning (and not in a good way )

HollyWeen · 24/10/2008 10:14

Me too daisy, I love to go into town and buy rice cakes in Boots for "the kids"! There aren't any of them in the box atch, but there is lots of cereal bars and those corn rings I must stop myself eating them!

Hi mamajullah! We are quite funny aren't we?! Well, maybe not funny haha, more funny weird! Welcome and hope you stick around!

Bleugh for dd's nappy jammy! Nasty! Hope she was wearing a disp!

Ds has been really poorly all night. He woke up in the middle of the night and was boiling hot. So hot in fact that it was actually unpleasant to touch his skin! I gave him some Nurofen and that got his temp down. He has been awake on and off since about 2 this morning and has been feeding all night! He seems fine now though, but has a wheezy chest and a bit of a hacking cough. It always happens on a friday! I don't want to take him to the dr now because he seems fine, but it is sod's law that he will be worse tomorrow and I'll end up having to go to the bloody drop in clinic!

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 10:29

poor DS holly; get him to the docs as you know he will only get worse over the weekend and then you will have the hassle of the out of hours doc!

and pmsl, DH came up with a great idea for the secret santa.........so, I will be sending everyone a shoebox full of crap from my house as a Wnacky box for the DCs Christmas . Pressies that the littlies will love and clears our house of more crap at the same time......the man is a comedic genius sometimes, love it

HollyWeen · 24/10/2008 10:31

Bless your dh daisy. I love that bit on your previous post where you said you remembered why you fell in love with him the the first place! Awwww, you softy!

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 10:54

it's just blardy hormones holly; it'll pass

HollyWeen · 24/10/2008 11:00

!!

When I was at my group yesterday the HV came over to me and said that there was a few new mums nearby that she had suggested come along to the group, but none of them had. I said to her to give them my number and get them to ring me if they wanted me to meet them outside and come into the group with them to make it less daunting for them. She went off and got a pad and a pen and asked me to write my number down. I took one look at the stationary and said "Yuk, I'm not using them"! The pad was an Aptimil one and the pen was SMA! I couldn't fucking believe it! Sometimes I just feel like I'm bashing my head against a brick wall! I think the HV felt suitably chastised and got me a plain piece of paper and a plain black pen! Honestly!

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 11:03

Yes, bless your DH Daisy. And do we have any more takers for the Secret Santa? Holly??

No, jamlet was NOT wearing a disposable earlier! So while today would not normally be a nappy washing day, it might just have to be now.

Hope your DS is OK Holly. I'd take him to the doc what with it being Friday and all. I'm still coughing and croaking. Two weeks now Plus a few days of a cold before that. Hope no one else or their LOs get anything like this.

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 11:05

ISWYM about the pen and paper Holly. Maybe you need to work on equivalent promo items for breast feeding? But who would fund them?

HollyWeen · 24/10/2008 11:17

We do have some jammy, the NHS ones, but the formula companies seem to be straight in the back door giving their promotional gear to all and sundry! They are much craftier and much quicker than us!

Hope you are ok jammy, that is a mammoth cold you have! Hopefully it'll clear up soon. Ds is ok I think. He is still a bit chesty, but has found to organix box and is rifling through it, so he can't be that bad! I'll leave it til after lunch I think and if he is not better I'll phone the dr.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 11:20

do the NCT do pens and stuff?

we got some breastfeeding awareness week pens and stuff during awareness week in May, but I realise that that is a big national campaign.

I'm sure you would be able to get funding for them and there are loads of promo type companies about.

I think it's disgusting that the targetting of HVs by formula companies isn't banned

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 11:21

and they have a much bigger budget holly, don't forget that!!
