Pistachio. This may make you feel better.
When I went for my first smear post DD2, I heard the nurse say to the doctor, ooooo she has very slack vaginal walls! I was mortified. It took me months to get over it. The worse thing is due to a very fast labour I think my darling son has ruined me again. It certainly doesnt feel particularly pleasant down there! I really want to resume relations with DH but am worried in case he thinks it is all a bit baggy

And I do my pelvic floor all the time. I think I shall have to invest in some of those cone things from Boots

Nicewarmslippers. I have loads of sympathy for you. I too feel like I am hallucinating during the day. Driving is interesting!! Dont worry about what everyone else has to say. Do what you feel is best. If you want to lay down, then lay down.
Please stay here with us, we are a great friendly bunch. You are garanteed tea and sympathy in buckets here

Tried swaddling... he fights to get his hands free!
csws - thanks for the song I hope registration went well. Our registration was nice and quick

myjob - we are using bambino mio and some cute shaped ones I got from ebay from thailand.

nicewarmslippers · 29/10/2008 12:41

how many of you actually manage to put baby down not quite alseep and let them 'settle themselves'......

My 2 week old ds only ever goes to sleep on boob or after lots of rocking in arms. Is this setting myself up for a problem sleeper or should I just chill (he is only 2 weeks old)

SmudgeyDoodle · 29/10/2008 14:12

Hi all
Am coming over to this thread now then!
All ok here, been to M&S today as was desperate for new bras, am sooo big and achey and buldging out my bras and never slept well with it last night. Mum treated me to 2 feeding bras so that was nice.

Phoebe doing well. MW came today and she happy with us both. Phoebe now 8 10 so dropped few ounces. MW said she does not look like a 9 pounder and said it was more to do with her length.

Ok well hope you are all doing well and babies are all ok.

star6 · 29/10/2008 16:33

yeah jenwa! Nice to see you on post-natal.
4 weeks tomorrow and my nipples are still cracked and SO SORE! SOrry for the whinge. I think it's thrush as they are itchy and feeling shooting pains sometimes. Dr on phone today said she'd call in prescription cream to the chemist but I went and it's NOT THERE.
Whenever he latches on it hurts... particularly at night when more sensitive.

jenwa · 29/10/2008 16:38

I have just put 2 pics on profile of Phoebe (one with DD1)

star Ouch that sounds painful and how annoying the prescription was not there! Have you got the lansone cream? Thats quite good? Mine are sore when she latches on but then its ok.

star6 · 29/10/2008 16:56

oh jenwa she is beautiful love the hair! yes have lansinoh but doesnt help much

Lovely photos ladies .

Star - make sure that ds is treated for thrush too, or he will just keep passing it back to you when he feeds.

Welcome nws. Do you want to give me some stats to include on our list?
I don't put ds down to sleep at all, let alone still awake! He will only sleep when held.

I don't sleep in the day nws, but I did need to when dd was a baby, as she was also up for hours after each of her many night feeds.

Smudgey - that you have your car back (but also for you). The air suspension pump on ours broke yesterday, so we are without it for a few days. We have a courtesy car, but I love my own car and everything else is pants by comparison!

pistachio -Lovely pics

phoebe is still sleeping bathed and fed at 6:30 and prob will be awake soon for a feed. Hoping she sleeps well tonight

I have huge boobs! I am not sure if there is actually a problem as one looks bigger and has gone a bit red! Will keep an eye on it (cant miss it really!)

star6 · 29/10/2008 22:23

jenwa is the red part sore or hot? When I had mastitis they said it was good i caught it straight away so could be treated. Otherwise can get really serious - so dont leave it too long!

star6 · 30/10/2008 09:06

loulou just curious... we just got the monitor. So what do you do if alarm goes off and baby has stopped breathing? just call 999?
DH is hooking it all up now. What a find! Thank you SO much loulou for finding that! Now I wont have to put my finger under his nose or poke at him while he's sleeping every few minutes!

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/10/2008 09:35

You could ask your hv whether your area offers any infant resuscitation courses star, so that you know what to do whilst waiting for an ambulance, in the unlikely event of ds needing one.

star yo uknow what, i have never thought about that!1 The alarm went off a few times with ds1 and i raced in to his room to find he had wriggled up the cot and off the pad...i guess you would call 999 and do first aid til they got there.

Its freezing here too myjob and our heating is being temperamental - typical

I'm going to say the next bit really quietly so no one really hears me but.....Joe slept all night last night from 8pm til 7.30 ....loulou now creeps away before others start throwing things at her...it won't last i know...

star6 · 30/10/2008 10:26

not throwing anything.... but please share with us exactly what you did with joe before putting him down last night

jenwa · 30/10/2008 12:59

star boobs better this am, think it may have been the fact my bra was too tight!!!

loulou thats fab, do you feel better for it? I rememebr dd1 sleeping through for the first time and I felt worse after having a long sleep!
Feel pants today as Phoebe did not sleep well between 11-3 this am

purpleflower · 30/10/2008 13:15

Hi all, I know I joined late but I don't get much chance to post so I hope you don't mind me dropping in occasionaly.

I can't believe DD is 4 weeks old tomorrow. I'm finding the newborn stage much easier this time around, I'm just struggling with a 2 year old.

Is anyone else having night sweats? I had them for a couple of days with DS but this time I'm still waking up dripping wet and its disgusting. I'm not brave enough to shower while I'm on my own with the DCs as I don't trust DS with DD so I'm sat here stinking

I'm very very loulou33 thats not fair. DS decided to drop his afternoon nap the week DD was born so I can't even catch up on sleep during the day. I'm shattered, the house is a mess and DS is watching far too much CBeebies. I really hope DD sleeps through soon although she did do a four hour stretch last night which is her best so far

Now she wants feeding again.

I am still having occasional night sweats purpleflower I read they can carry on for 6 weeks or so and are more common if you are BF, metabolisim (sp) working harder etc. Not comfortable though

loulou another one here v, v, I'm just pleased Sander managed 3 hours between feeds for the last 2 nights. Even feeling slightly human today

Finally got our floor laid downstairs today, hurrah!! It's been 3 months in the planning and excecution. Procrastination central here not helped by sprog arrival
