lol holly . I had a few run-ins with her, but equally she came up trumps for me a couple of times as well.......she could be harsh but it was never ever personal. a few posters are sporting misspelled names in solidarity....fraeks

I noticed andie's name on LLs chinese whispers thread.

Andie...if you are lurking, come and talk to us or we'll think we've done something to offend you

Yes, I saw andie the other day on another thread...come here and talk to us please

Come to think of it where's norty? And badzelda and catkin and whatever happened to mytwocents and doggus? Oh and where oh where is annobal? Actually I forgive annobal, she is prob moving house. Marylou/catsuitgirl , I worry about her! Has derlor flounced?

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 08:57

Morning. I have given in. I am not going in to work today. I am officially sick. GP opens in a few minutes so am going to try to get an appointment. Not convinced they can do anything, but everyone has been nagging me to go.

Good luck with sorting out a name for your site Holly. Not much inspiration here I'm afraid. Best I could think of was to use a well known song title that includes Baby or Babe. BabyILoveYou?

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 10:37

Ahhh, my home is my own again

Off to catch up

RiallyEeRiaee · 13/10/2008 10:42

morning. sorry you feel poo jammy. good luck with GPs.

Holly, what about a foreign translation of one of the names you liked but are already used.

silly fecking bank, didn't open til 9.30 and still not pro-active enough for my liking. There is nothing obviously on my statement though Might move back to Abbey, but they're in the big town, not the little local one. ARSE.

Sputnik · 13/10/2008 10:53

I spotted Lilkel out there too rthe other day.

Norty is on holiday, she has an excuse.

Shocked about the cod business too, she can be abrasive at times but this place will be boring without her.

You survived Foxy

HollyWeen · 13/10/2008 11:03

Oh yes, and lilkel, she needs to get her arse back here pronto and say hello!

Jammy, hope you ok and it goes well at the gp.

Glad you survived foxy!!

Thanks ria, that is a good idea. I've just done a little search and jolibebe.co.uk (pretty baby, I know it should be bebejoli if I was actually being French, but I'm not!) is free. I like it! It is stylish and chic!

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 12:25

I like jolibebe

I officially have a viral throat infection and an ear infection. Getting my throat sweets and ear drops from the pharmacy I heard the staff talking about the flu jab and saying how everyone who's had it this year has felt really ill a few days afterwards. Mmmm, I had it last Wednesday, and felt really poorly from Friday onwards. Coincidence?

HollyWeen · 13/10/2008 13:06

Arse jammy! I completely sympathise, sore throats are nasty. Hope you feel better soon.

I have just written an essay! Only 600 words, but it is the first one I have written for years. I am feeling all scholarly now!

LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 13:09

jolibebe is good holly, I like it.

blardy nother night from hell here. DD disn;t settle till after midnight and grizzled all night. DS wet the bed twice, so ended up in beside me as I couldn't be bothered changing his sheets again, and then he wet our bed too. the I had the usual up every 45 minutes for a wee or change of position. DD is still having tummy issues and has gone from diahorrea to vomiting to now being so badly constipated that she was screaming trying to have a poo earlier. I have been filling her up with OJ and satsumas in the hope that it gets things moving for her.

jammy, hope you feel better soon. I need to go and see the doc due to some "intimate itching" issues; every cream I looked at in the chemist said either not suitable for use or consult doctor if pregnant.....

amniotic fluid making funny creaking and gurgling noises as well; very disconcerting. And trying to change hospitals is proving easier said than done. Apparently it needs to be done by my CMW who is on holiday this week . I have left messages in three dofferent places explaining that as time is of the essence I can't really wait until next week. Why is nothing ever straightforward?

foxy, glad you came out of the PIL visit unscathed.

Off for an afternoon nap now

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 13:20

Caught up, immediately forgotten everything sorry if I miss anything

Jammy, sounds like a double whammy hot toddy with whisky best thing for that though

Holly, you clever thing! Like that - have you thought about contacting all the companies who advertise or offer discount on Mumsnet? The White Company, GLTC, etc. I know its a bit of a tenuous link, but might be worth exploiting.

SmilingKiwi was another. Nice to see Pumpkinhead popping back. Fury, are you still in contact with Derlor?

Do other peoples ILs burp and fart constantly without an 'excuse me'? I suppose it means they must feel very comfortable here. Which should be good. Shouldn't it?

HollyWeen · 13/10/2008 13:23

Sorry for your shitty night daisy. That is a bit shit about the hospital, do they not realise that you can't really wait much longer? Hope you get it sorted in time.

Have a lovely nap!

I've just had a package from Mam. Loads of goodies! A breast pump, some bottles, some dummies, some breast pads and lots of weaning stuff. The weaning stuff is really nice, a bowl, a lovely neoprene bib and some spoons. I might put the nice bits together to use as part of my raffle prize collection and use the breastfeeding stuff in my group. Hurrah for Mam!

HollyWeen · 13/10/2008 13:26

Hi foxy, good idea about the MN link. I didn't even think about that tbh. Thanks.

I think I would be a bit uncomfortable if dp's dad farted in my presence! Especially if it smelt! That is odd squad! Burping is a bit different, ie not offensive really, but farting...ewwww!!

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 13:35

Daisy, why are you changing hospital (sorry, I must have missed it)? I'd put money on someone not being arsed to do their job, and the CMW being the only person able to do it is bollocks.

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 16:09

And another thought on the name Holly, you might want to think about its Googleability. So if someone googles 'baby stuff' its there.

HollyWeen · 13/10/2008 16:25

Fuck me! I posted on Sat that I'd lost my car keys...well we just went to the police station and they were there! Bloody miracle! I'm so happy!

LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 16:58

great news on the car keys holly

foxy, I'm changing because I've just found out that t'other lot will let me labour naturally without CFM as the consultant there is a bit more enlightened than your average OB. She had two water births herself apparently. they also said that they would draw up a care plan for me based on my wishes and not what the trust says will be. the hospital I'm at now just said "this is what will happen, like it or lump it" (am paraphrasing, obviously )

I spoke to someone from my CMWs team and she was a bit snippy, telling me "it's a bit late in the day for this as it can take 2 weeks" but has filled in the form and will set the ball rolling. I asked if there was any merit in her talking to the MW who knows about me......"not really" came the enthusiastic response. So at least the ball is rolling. I just have to hope that virgil stays in there until I've seen the other hospital and got my care plan drawn up. I can see me getting there and being turned away, then going to the first hospital and being turned away there as well as my paperwork will have been lost in the ether somewhere.

You'd think two hospitals, half a mile from each other and in the same NHS trust would be able to communicate a bit more readily than this!

right, kiddies tea time.

Back later.

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 19:49

Glad you got your keys back Holly

Daisy, if the worst happens and you turn up in advanced labour at a hospital and they don't have your records, they're not going to turf you out to give birth in the car park are they? (Bloomin' hope not!) When we looked round our local MW led maternity unit they said that they like to know who they're expecting to see etc, but that if you'd planned to go to another hospital (further away) but things were too advanced you could just turn up there and they would deliver. So just make sure that you turn up sufficiently late at your preferred hospital that they don't have a choice! Mind, don't leave it as late as a woman did some months back at the hospital near where my parents live - they were pushing her in a chair down to delivery but she couldn't make it, she just felt compelled to just get out of the chair and lie down and give birth in the coridoor

Bloodystumperlicious · 13/10/2008 20:02

Hi all, great news about your keys Holly.

This is a joke that one of my work colleagues told today:

"What's the difference between rape and football? Women like rape."

Seriously. I work with some nice people.

Next time he offers to tell a joke I'm going to tell him that if I hear one more joke about rape or paedos I will get a rep from the Gender Difference Network to come and give our team a talk on the issues women face.

Mothers are apparently the most discriminated against group in the work place apparently.

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 20:06

Next time he tells a joke, Bumper, report him.

That's disgusting.

Bloodystumperlicious · 13/10/2008 20:11

The thing is it's someone who I like, I just lost a bit of respect for him though. I'm always telling him off for distinctly un-PC jokes. I really will punish him if he does it again though, I won't report him, but I will make him pay.

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 20:13

How? He'll tell his sick jokes to the wrong person one day, and really cause some offence. What an arsehole.

Anyway, how the heck are you honey?

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 20:16

Yes, do report him, Bumper!

LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 20:16

bumper, I would report him anyway...tosser!

lol jammy......my concern is that I have the venerable words from the first hospital in my hand held notes......."no to trial of labour" and "CFM".

I could always spill coffee on that page or summat though.

Braxton Hicks aren't meant to be painful right? They are meant to stop when you move around right? Mine aren't stopping and they are most definately painful (as is the small of my back and the tops of my thighs).....but I'm pretty sure it isn't the start of anything
