Bumper, what a nice man! It always baffles me that people seem to think these things are funny. Maybe appropriate for down the pub with the lads, but not at the workplace. Hope work is ok apart from that.

I have made my blog, well bought the domain and hosting. I can't for the life of me fathom how to use Wordpress though! I have followed the instructions for downloading a new theme, but it doesn't work! If it is because I am on a Mac I am going to shoot myself! I really do heart this computer, but it's not sodding compatible with anything, it's driving me nuts!

HollyWeen · 13/10/2008 20:27

Oooo, daisy, are you ok? My BHs weren't painful, but were so strong sometimes that I couldn't breathe! I have a friend whose BHs were really painful from about 30 weeks and her dcs were both born on their edds. I do suspect she is a bit of a wimp though, she drove herself to hospital after one contraction and demanded an epidural there and then! She got one as well! Keep an eye on them and make sure they aren't becoming regular. Have any of the Nov ladies popped yet?

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 20:27

BTW I just want to boast - DH brought me two bunches of roses home from the supermarket!!

(Before anyone gets too I only got them because they were reduced price! )

HollyWeen · 13/10/2008 20:31

PMSL at your dh jammy! How lovely of him! It must be nice to have a man with an eye for a bargain!

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 20:31

Daisy, mine were painful. Huffing and puffing painful IYKWIM. And twingy.

Jammy - you are a lucky lady

Bloodystumperlicious · 13/10/2008 20:33

I am serious about getting someone to come up and have a talk with him. He will have to sit through an hour's lecture on the problems that women face in society if I have my way. It's tough though, it's one of those teams where there is a lot of banter, which is mostly nice and fun, but there are limits. I don't want to be all PC an prim as I can join in at the best of times, but some people just do not get that language if not shapes, is certainly a reflection of society's attitudes.

Anyway, apart from that things are ok. Working FT is mostly shit, but I'm getting used to it. Just feel a bit like I am existing at the moment though, and not achieving anything. DH is doing ok, no job yet. If there is no sign of a job at the end of this month we are going to be in trouble...Well, we aren't going to get evicted or anything, and there won't be any bailiffs (yet), but we will have to get ourselves into even more debt, which as we all know is more expensive than it used to be.

How are you foxy? Things any better with DP? Where is norty, she's been away for ages?

JBM, Natty, hope you are both doing ok.

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 20:37

Dh certainly does have an eye for a bargain. Tonight, as well as the flowers, he brought home chicken kebabs, 2 packs of raspberries, 3 salmon en croutes, a fish dish, 3 packs beefburgers, some key lime pie, some roast beef for sandwiches, and some cakes, all reduced price

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 20:38

Oh and 2 packs of ready to roast sweet potato wedges in chilli dressing

Bloodystumperlicious · 13/10/2008 20:40

What time does her go Jammy? I never seem to get there at the right time, despite the reduced section being the first aisle I head for!

LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 20:42

We have one baby already ....four weeks early but doing really well. We also have twins that will probably be delivered within the next two weeks (she isn't due till mid november though). It's all getting to the tired and miserable stage over there. We need some babies to start arriving to bolster everyone......not that I would like mine right this minute, but I'm hoping it won;t be too long!

Talking of which,i need to sort out our text buddies, or the babies will all be here and I still won;t have done it!

Another feeling I keep getting is a sort of gentle tingling/pins and needles in my fanjo...very odd indeed.

Bumper, things are usually reduced by 50% at about 4.30-5ish, by 7 they will take even more money off and they keep taking it off through the night! There is a whole topic on it on the MSE site! That is the only time I buy dp meat, is if it is reduced or on special offer! I am a meanie!

LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 20:44

And what can I do with a DD who is refusing to eat? she has only eaten half a toasted teacake and a satsuma today. Lunch was refused as was tea. she has been funny with lunch for a couple of weeks now, and it looks like it's happening at teatime now too. She can't survive on one meal a day can she?

HollyWeen · 13/10/2008 20:44

Oh lovely daisy, the early Nov babies should start coming thick and fast soon!

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 20:48

He goes on a Sunday afternoon at about 3pm, and/or on a Monday or Tuesday night at about 6. He currently goes to Waitrose, but the after work trips to Waitrose will have to stop once his job finishes. The Sunday afternoon trips may continue though, as it's a good way to get him to take Jamlet out for an hour and give me a break.

HollyWeen · 13/10/2008 20:48

My ds does daisy. He never eats breakfast, rarely eats lunch, sometimes some fruit or a yoghurt. I usually get at least some dinner down him, but it really is minimal. He is still mostly surviving on bmilk! Today he has eaten two Cheddars crackers, half an Organix gingerbread man, two cherry toms and about 2 mouthfuls of jacket potato and sweetcorn! That is it. He looks fine on it, but it is quite a shock feeding him after dd the human dustbin!

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 20:56

Jamlet is getting a little fussier about her eating, but eats a fair amount. Typically she'll have either some toast or a weetabix for breakfast, a bit of fruit or some organix snacks mid morning, half a slice of bread with some ham or cheese at lunch, and some fruit, maybe a little snack in the afternoon, then dinner, then milk before bed. In some ways she seems really chunky, especially round the waist and I worry she's too chubby, especailly as some trousers have had to go as they don't pull up over her nappies (would fit round waist if could get them on I think though.) But she's still wearing quite a few 9-12 months clothes, and her coat is 6-9 months even. Some tops we have discarded as too small were just that we couldn't get them over her head without almost ripping her face off!

Bloodystumperlicious · 13/10/2008 20:58

I had a momentary panic there as I thought Daisy was talking about her own baby

I must go to the supermarket too late to get any bargains.

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 20:58

It's veg she's got a bit fussy over. She'll eat root veg, but has started turning down tomatos which she used to love, and threw all her courgette and pepper away the other night. Peas and sweetcorn are OK though, and she loves cauliflower cheese. Might try dicing courgettes, peppers etc up instead of in strips and see if she'll take spoonfuls of them like that.

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 21:00

What time do you go Bumper? Seriously I think DH might actually have a problem with bargains. Our freezer is chock-a-clock full of stuff he's picked up reduced. We hardly ever, almost never, buy meat or fish at full price. If the bargains ever dry up I'm not sure our finances will cope!

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 21:07

Daisy, LO seems to graze almost constantly. Satsumas, raisins, teeny-weeny cheese and tomato sarnies, toast, raisin toast, apples. She eats meals as well though. I'd just keep offering but up the snacks. I usually have a little bowl with a lid of rice cakes, raisins, cheese chunks on my person. I have read that grazing is the natural, preferred way for toddlers to eat. Its only convention and routine that dictates 3 meals a day apparently.

Bumper, you are remarkably tolerant!

My friend had her 4th baby on Friday - I got to meet him on the day which was a priviledge (took her and her family dinner round, so bought my way in ). Lots of baby boys being born at the moment. And I'm not getting broody after one! Result!

Ekka · 13/10/2008 21:10

Hi all, sorry its been a while, I've sort of lost track with this thread - the Oct ante-natal thread is getting really busy with births and I'm struggling to keep up with everything.... Daisy please, please, don't have your baby before me - I might cry!!! Mind you, I got a bit nervous today with some painful BH's - the birth pool doesn't arrive till Wed evening, and as its cost us £300 to rent it I'd quite like it to arrive before baby does

Glad to hear other people's dcs are fussy about food. Dd is just starting to get less fussy, but is teething at the moment so I resorted to a pot of heinz baby food this lunchtime to get something down her [bad mother emoticon]. Haven't used them in ages, but I was too knackered to want the stress of actually making some food and then her refusing it (though I was surprised she ate it given her track record with food this week).

Holly I like the sound of the reduced food - I should get dh more organised . We nearly had heart failure at our recent costco bill (though to be fair we had stocked up on wine for Xmas and also bought a car seat for dd).... Still, we are supposed to be saving money

Bloodystumperlicious · 13/10/2008 21:11

About 6 or 7ish? Earlier at the weekend.

DD isn't a huge eater of veg, but I am resolved that food will not be a battleground for us. I think nearly a whole year of BLW has gotten me used to DD just eating what she wants when she wants, so we just let her get on with it. I wouldn't say she eats anything, but she's not too fussy. I have spent hours baking lovely foods for her that she just isn't interested in! Her lunches are usually picnicky, bits of cheese, bread, tomato, boiled egg, ham. For breakfast, if I give her toast I just put it on a mat on the floor for her and she takes her time but usually eats the lot over the course of the day, and I try not to cringe as she climbs all over the sofa with marmitey hands!

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 21:13

Like Foxy said, you are very tolerant Bumper (thinking about marmitey hands)

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 21:13

Hey Ekka Nice to 'see' you again! How is it going and where have you been?! Having a real life??

Soprana went on holiday didn't she? Wonder if she's back yet

LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 21:16

I'll try letting her snack more tomorrow, thanks foxy . She was letting me know that she was hungry as I was cooking tea, but she just wouldn't eat it. I wonder if she gets too much milk; she has a tommee tippee cup before brekkie, then more on her ceral when we get back from the school run and then about an 7oz bottle before bed. Maybe she is holding out for her milk?

Maybe I'll drop the brekkie milk and just give her brekkie instead. DS was so much easier to feed by comparison.

Am of all the bargains; sainsbos are crap for their reductions and even things that are actually on their sell by date are only reduced by a few pennies at 7pm. I'm sure they end up throwing it away.

Maybe we all need to become Free-gans?
