we're like that after our efforts at the weekend. the crib is built up and looking lovely and snuggly for Virgil, but I can't get into my drawers or wardrobes (my excuse for still being in my jammies)

I really need to clean up a bit too, I've got my parents coming next week.
I decided to tackle the fridge, it had formed an iceberg around a bag of stringbeans that have been there since july, I couldn't get them out without defrosting. Can I claim my domestic slattern award?

RiallyEeRiaee · 07/10/2008 10:59

I have filled in aome forms this morning (including the OU one) and we have no fecking envelopes.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/10/2008 11:19

nope, I have things in my freezer that are lost under several inches of ice.......the British Antarctic Survey are coming next week to start excavating

DH got his verbal offer from the new job this morning . We are very happy with it as there is a pretty good pay increase with it, so added to the fact he isn't shelling out £1500 a year in diesel, it should make life a wee bit less uncomfortable for us. We also get a staff discount card, so will be shopping there from now on as every little helps (oops, wrong supermarket ).

We are thanking our lucky stars that budget supermarkets are actually doing well at the moment.

'lo ladies

all postponing the housework too? I have been to Lidl. And eaten toast. Phew. Need a lie down now

LackaDAISYcal · 07/10/2008 11:40

h.o.u.s.e.w.o.r.k....nope sorry foxy, doesn't mean anything to me

what's on offer at LIDL this week? surfboards, saddles, yachts?

OP posts:
Ohforfoxsake · 07/10/2008 11:42

I saw motorcycle jackets, gym wear, roasting tins, acrylic paints and easels, and lots of gingerbread and marzipan.

Ohforfoxsake · 07/10/2008 11:44

I got a washing basket and some grass seed. As well as nappies and my weekly fruit and veg - for £50 and saw an arguement between two blokes (which didn't come to fisticuffs thankfully). All of the staff, every single one of them, including the manager completely ignored them kicking off. I reckon Lidl staff are either so used to it, or trained to ignore it

LackaDAISYcal · 07/10/2008 12:03

i love the randomness of their offers; much more interesting than ALDI!

Hello
Love the Halloween names Bumper and Holly.
I feel pretty rough, but am in at work anyway. But trying to take it easy.
I am going to have a push at getting some more decluttering done later in the week though. I got the "how to declutter" book out of the library and have read the how to get things in order chapters, so now need to read the how to keep things in order bits so that my efforts don't get wasted.

When Jamlet is feeling hard done by she will put her head down in front of her. This is pretty funny when she is sitting on the floor, she leans right forward so her head is face down on the floor between her legs with her hands stretched out as far as she can reach. I am learning to ignore this as I now know it is for show.

JammyOLantern · 07/10/2008 12:06

We are getting a LIDL near us soon. Am looking forward to that.

HellHathNoFury · 07/10/2008 13:06

I have a lidl just down the road but I stopped going when some dude pulled a knife on the guy in front in the checkout queue. I was in front of him. I scarpered pretty quick (well as quick as you can when you are 8 months PG)

Sputnik · 07/10/2008 13:11

Gosh that just doesn't happen in Waitrose, does it?

justbeme · 07/10/2008 13:32

Hello!
Im back -4 nights early from my "holiday" - Torture more like!!
Havent caught up yet - and am going out for a nice chinese buffet soon as DPs birthday.
Catch up later xx

HellHathNoFury · 07/10/2008 13:33

I think it might do - yummy mummys fighting over that last packet of organic edimame beans!

I can see the claws coming out.

I am the person in a tracksuit hanging around the reduced bit in sainsbos, pushing the old people out the way.

RiallyEeRiaee · 07/10/2008 13:42

just had the phone engineer and now have shit hot fast broadband but only one phone as he said we had too many extension cables. So will have to buy a new multi-handset phone as I am too fat/have too many stairgates to hurdle, to cope with just one phone.

Have even started putting away the clean laundry

daisy, would your prefer the bits for Virgil in one biggish bag or 2 smaller ones?

LackaDAISYcal · 07/10/2008 13:53

Whatever is easier for you Ria! Are you walking down from the hospital or will you have the car/is DH dropping you off? @I'm aiming to park as close as I can so I don't have to waddle up the hill from the car park!

Ohforfoxsake · 07/10/2008 13:59

Blimey Ria, you're on fire! Putting washing away! that's why I bought another washing basket - the other 3 are full. (Of clean washing waiting to be put away).

Sorry to hear you are feeling unwell again Jammy

Ohforfoxsake · 07/10/2008 14:01

Hi JBM! So what was up with the 'holiday'?

I'm the one shoving you in the shin with my trolley Fury

LackaDAISYcal · 07/10/2008 14:04

foxy......I have three words for you...IKEA BLUE BAGS. I have several full of clean washing lying around.....in fact it's them that are stopping me from getting into my wardrobe or chest of drawers!!!

oh the irony...

...or to be honest the lack of it

OP posts:
Ohforfoxsake · 07/10/2008 14:11

LOL Daisy. I can't - I use them for swimming and hate lugging those bastard things around.

DD1 has one of the small ones 'to be like mummy'

LackaDAISYcal · 07/10/2008 14:44

bless her foxy

we use bags for life for swimming (currently sporting my tesco Cath Kidston one) but I appreciate that you have a lot more swimming kit to carry with you than I do

Daisy, Sainsburys are doing Wiis for £149, but you'd have to be quick. They are also doing Xbox 360s for £99, hmmm, I think I'd get bollocked by DP but DS2 really wants one
