Lilyloo · 01/11/2008 08:46

Morning all well Martha still in bed with dp and i up with 2 dc's who are eating there halloween sweets already
They went trick or treating last night with dp and i went over to neighbours with wine and sweets and we ran out of both
It was manic on here last night but dc's love it think Martha was overwhelmed!
Hopefully she will be better today so i can get on with my revision.

MrsMc i was def more sick with the girls than ds!

Lat hope the cc went ok the first night is def the worst!

JKS have lovely night out tom you deserve it!

Lucky that sounds really painful don't think eating the halloween sweets will help

MM he sounds to be making up for his lack of appetite these last few days

Simpson actually think long sleeve vests aren't that easy to find. about the nighbours grandad.

Gingeme how did trick or treating go with your ds ? LOL at your disproval of MrsM theory

Have good day all!!!

LaTrucha · 01/11/2008 09:32

orry - just dancing in to say she went to sleep within 40 minutes And she slept until.....

FIVE FIFTEEN IN THE MORNING!!!!!!!!!!

Of course I woke at 2, 3, 4 etc. She did wake a couple of times but she settled herself in about a minute. At 5.15 I rocked her for 10 minutes and she went back into the cot until 6.30 when I fed her and she fell asleep in my bed until 7.30. Totally amazing. Even though I was awake for most of it!

I can't believe it will be so easy tonight but we are dancing this morning.

will do a proper catch up in a mo.

Gingeme · 01/11/2008 09:34

LaT - fab news

Have got boy from next door again and his gran came round and said great grand father has got hours

So am mum of 3 today again!!

simpson · 01/11/2008 11:32

Old guy has just passed away I have a 5yr old boy v upset whom I don't know that well asking questions about death etc.

Have to keep him in the back of the house as the front has got ambulances/police etc.

Have let them eat the remainders of Halloween sweets.

At least DD is sleeping....

LaTrucha · 01/11/2008 13:40

Tough one Simpson but I think you have to answer honestly. I was told lots of fancy stuff about a 'special place' at that age and was well confused. I DID actually understand he was dead.

simpson · 01/11/2008 13:56

LaT - Have tried to be honest. But he seems to think people come back after a while

Have had to keep Dcs in back room as they are about to bring out body

Have had long chat about how people get to Heaven etc....Don't really know if its my place to say much but he is very upset, bless him

My mum is coming round in a bit so she will help out as DD not great today usual whinging etc...

Have got little boy busy drawing pictures to each member of his family because they are sad.

LaTrucha · 01/11/2008 14:40

I'm sure his parents will be very grateful to you for looking after him and will understand that you had to say something.

madmouse · 01/11/2008 21:30

Hi all

Gaah the weather is nasty, cold and pouring with rain brrrr.

hope you are all well

simpson bit puzzled about the goings on in your street, first this guy having a few hours then police and ambulance turning up? Little boy gone home now?

still getting used to someone having swapped my baby son for a baby bird. tonight i had overheated his food so he had to wait while I stirred and blew. He blew too, his gasket to be precise , a flying raging hissy fit. i ended up taking him out of his high chair and he kept shouting between mouthfuls until it was almost all finished, and it was a lot. and he has just drank so much milk that he was wriggling on my lap, this way and that to make space for all the milk

He has however also spent brief periods on ALL FOURS rocking back and foreward. He needs help to get there of course, but he seems to be making leaps.

Cassiebabe are you lurking out there? How is your darling?

Bfeeders have you seen the thread on strange places to bf on the bf/ff topic? Some insane ones there, like a toddler standing on a stool drinking while mum is chopping veggies

all quiet here...early night. period heavy, bored with it already.

simpson · 01/11/2008 21:57

Madmouse - Bless Nathan wanting to make up for lost time food wise Have to say DD blows a gasket every meal if she thinks I am being too slow But won't drink her milk though... But she managed big lumps of mince tonight in shepherds pie (with no teeth) and REALLY LOVED it. Think her gums are sore and she likes to chew iyswim.

Little boy from next door went home about 3ish very upset bless him. Said his house was very big without his (great) Grandad in it Guess he will probably be round tomorrow.

Think ambulance are called to pronounce him dead. They stayed for AGES don't know why police were there only stayed a few mins though. But ambulance would not remove body had to get phone no. for funeral directors to come.

Had to keep kids in back room in case they saw something they shouldn't. DD had a great time though as both boys play with her etc.

Gingeme · 02/11/2008 10:41

Morning ladies.
Simpson good for you helping these people out Oh poor little love losing his great grandad. So sad.
Madmouse George does the same when he's eating now. Seem to feed him in a matter of seconds so he's not wailing in between mouthfulls then he usualy has a try of whatever we are eting too [hhmm]
Dh currently picking up a buggy board from a freecycler. We are giving my friend our double buggy in January and want to see if ds4 will stand on a buggy board. If not It will be a Phil and Teds which must admit I've always wanted one [hgrin] but its alot of pounds.
George has a terrible cough. Very loose and snotty [hsad] He woke loas last night just coughing but settled himself back again.

LaTrucha · 02/11/2008 11:05

Gingeme - I looked at the P+T too. But very expensive! Hope George is better.

MM - must be kind of nice to have such a hungry young man! Is your sleep any better?

Simpson - Well done you. Not an easy situation to handle. Are you back living with DH now or still with your folks?

Same amount of crying to sleep last night - 40 minutes but again instantly was calm when I went in. Trying to suck my elbow which made me a bit . She woke at 2.15 and we did the CC agfain. She was actually trying to put herself to sleep but then realised I was in bed in the room and started crying. Again took 45 minutes. She woke up again at about 4 but got herself to sleep. At 5.30 she woke and I couldn't get her back in the cot so I fed her and took her into bed. She fed for 15 minutes and then slept another two hours.

She's as bright as a button this morning, though only a short nap. I'm not really obssessed with sleep - (yes I am! yes I am!).

Gingeme · 02/11/2008 11:44

La Trucha our double buggy is the side to side one and is a bit cumbersome now the boys are a bit bigger but Edward still likes to have a sit down while were out and about so need another double buggy. Dh couldn't find the address for the buggy board and came home with right hump . Think I'll have to start saving my pennies for a P&T !

simpson · 02/11/2008 12:17

I have a side by side buggy too which I still use sometimes as I don't drive and wouldn't expect DS to walk as far as I do. Have a buggy board too which I am starting to use more and more.

Would have loved a P & T but too pricey for the short time I would use it and shopping basket not big enough. I have an urban detour (3 wheeler) from mothercare.

Well DS has just fallen down the stairs DD was having nap and I was upstairs drying my hair DS came in to see what I was doing then decided to go back downstairs. Then heard big crash and shriek. My heart was in my mouth as I went to see what happened!! He is ok though thank God but had a nose bleed. Why did it happen the second DH left for work?!! Not good with blood!!

AngeChica · 02/11/2008 14:04

Afternoon all. Haven't much time to catch up but hope you are all OK.

I had a pang in Boots yesterday looking at the little baby stuff. Since my little giant is now 9 months and going in to 12-18 month clothes, I just feel like his "little baby" days are over! Don't even want to think about TTC til next spring/summer though.

Am settling back to work, drop to half day in Weds from this week on. Bit scared about the loss of earnings but we'll get by, am frequenting Ebay / car boots / charity shops / Aldi to save the pennies!

DH been off this week but has cracked on and finished his dissertation for his MA which should all be over by Christmas. It'll be here before we know it .

Gingeme · 02/11/2008 14:24

Oh dear Simpson yes these things always happen when your on your own don't they? Usualy seconds after dh has left for owrk
Well done to your dh Ange. I think its all marvelous all the studying people do. I can just about manage a shopping list these days
Ooh sounds like were in for some spring babys then ? I'm pleased to say my broody days are well and truly gone now though I do still ooh and aah over diddy babys.

madmouse · 02/11/2008 15:59

ginge nathan is still coughing. the cough seems rather big for such a small boy

the night? least said the better , no idea what that is all about.

feeling slightly smug and very happy with my P&T pushchair. It was my one and only pregnancy must have and I am glad I forked out as I do love it to bits. I can't see myself swapping it for a mclaren at any time. In fact I do hope to need to buy the double kit at some point

I would say if you still need to use a pushchair for a year+ and you walk loads do try to get your hands on one. people who handle it for me keep on making surprised sounds. it turns on a penny so is great in small shops and the like, also managed to manouvre it all the way to the back of a busy whetherspoons without hitting any ankles. sorry, end of advert

simpson · 02/11/2008 16:51

Gingeme - Think I might stay in tomorrow so nothing else can go wrong

Can't remember who asked me but yes am back home DH doing well and is at work but he is finding work and meds very very tiring.

Going to try BLW tea for DD. Having turkey and veg with couscous....

Gingeme · 02/11/2008 16:59

madmouse do you reckon the P&T would be any good for two toddlers? I want to go to Mothercare World and put the boys in one and see how it handles. I'm going to sell my other two buggys as soon as I have a P&T then thats it

madmouse · 02/11/2008 19:06

ginge not sure. I have a few friends who have done it though and i recently had my mate's (very light but very long) 5 year old in it when she hurt her foot.

I would check two things:
access to the shopping basket (due to the shape of the handlebar you cannot easily hang supermarket style bags off it)

lifting the nosewheel off the floor as if boarding a bus, as the p and t is quite light and I can really feel it when I have a lot of shopping in it and board the bus.

and don't buy it at Mothercare, it is the most expensive place. If buying new try Oxford pram centre (you can buy online).
