hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsMcJnr · 17/10/2008 22:16

I think I'll get myself to Liddl then

Nicky6 - how annoying about your HV, that kind of meal is probably more healthy than a lot of dinners other children get.

I feel guilty if I eat anything in front of DS now that I can't have as he just looks at me and munches

LuckySalem · 17/10/2008 22:16

I forgot to say - DP is taking a demotion in work tonight. He'll lose £10 a day but I think it'll be better on the family as it'll mean we see him more. Apparently he can still go for the manager's promotion from a standard staff member so we've agreed that we want some family time before he becomes a manager.

MrsMcJnr · 17/10/2008 22:40

Hey finally added some recent photos to my profile

LuckySalem · 17/10/2008 22:42

Awww gorgeous!!

MrsMcJnr · 17/10/2008 23:05

Thanks hon that's great news about DH's job, it'll make a big difference to your family life

LuckySalem · 17/10/2008 23:11

We're hoping so cos the week off he's just had was lovely and I think DD loved spending time with her daddy. In fact I got ignored A LOT!! So him working less hours will hopefully mean that he sees her more.

JustKeepSwimming · 18/10/2008 06:17

god i'm tired

9.30 light off - good girl!
12 - wake up no dh yet
1.30 - H crying, pat and settle him
2.30 - ditto
3.30 - ditto
4.30 - ditto, dh stirred so i asked him to do it
5.10 - H still crying, i go in, and feed him
5.15 - T up, dh settles him
5.30 - T up again (H still muttering), I settle him
5.55 - T up, I bring him downstairs and tv on

Dh said he got in just after midnight so think he had 4 hours decent sleep. i was determined not to feed at night anymore, but sod that! if i'd fed at 1.30, we could all have slept better
and i was thinking 'well i'll deal with H all night, then dh can get up with them both in the morning' once i realised at 5 that wasn't going to happen i cried

i hate this stage, hate being sleep-deprived, hate feeling so awful, hate that i know i'll be grumpy all day and feel sorry for poor dh.

sorry, not sure sharing any of that helps anyone....

lucky - good news re dp job

mrsmc - cute photos

nicky nuff said!

lily - hope you all have a good weekend

madmouse - HAPPY BIRTHDAY
can i have some cake????yum!

AngeChica · 18/10/2008 09:27

hi all thanks for tip HM, the whiff is abating a little now. more work on house today, bonding and plasterboarding over the bare brick, hopefully not as messy as last weekend and the bonding will seal everything so no more brick dust everywhere. will take DS out of the way again though and leave them to it.

we actually went out for tea at the pub last night, trying out a babysitter for the first time (a 6th former from DH school). only stayed out a couple of hours. DS was then up at 11, 1 and 4, then 5.30, we brought him in to bed til 7....

DS suffering with teeth, rivers of snot and intermittent whinging. He has also been screaming when trying to eat meals, very unlike the little scoffer, and I presume this is teeth related? Oddly though he seems to manage his toast OK .

AngeChica · 18/10/2008 09:28

oh, happy birthday madmouse, hope you have a lovely day x

simpson · 18/10/2008 10:51

Happy birthday Madmouse!!!

simpson · 18/10/2008 12:34

Angechica - we have rivers of snot here too with both Dcs!!

Lucky - Great that DP will be able to spend more time with you and DD

JKS - sorry you had a rough night lack of sleep in torture...

Mrs Mcjnr - Lovely pics!! How recent are they? Xavier looks so grown up sitting, much bigger than my DD!

Nicky - 19lbs 4ozs!! Charlie sounds a great weight. We have no teeth here either. DS has always only had one hot meal a day even now at 3yrs old will do the same for DD. Good for you challenging the HV

Lilyloo - hope things are better for you today and you manage to get feet up

Madmouse - Happy birthday, have a good one!!

Gingeme - Where are you?? Hope all ok...

All good here DD had a great nap of an hour and a half this morning

Bought soya yogurts for her yesterday but HV said something about if she is intolerant to the sugar in dairy products she won't tolerate soya either or if she is intolerant to the protein soya will be ok....

madmouse · 18/10/2008 13:00

Hi all

Thanks for all the wishes. Am an old mum now - 34

Dh gave me a much wished for tomtom (have become lots better driver over recent years but have no sense of direction so reluctant to go new places without dh)and Nathan gave me only one wakeup call between 12 and 8 and some chocolates and a card that says to a special mummy from your little boy aaaah

joy of motherhood is that I was still outside hanging washing this morning . Dh writing sermon (I hope! If he is playing games and not ready to go out later there will be noise!)

All peaceful now, Nathan on the floor watching teletubbies and I have just been wrapping some pressies. A toy for a colleague and his wife who are finally having a baby after six years of miscarriage misery and a cute little play suit for friends in N Ireland who had a teenie tiny girl (4lb3 at 37 weeks now 5lb10 a month later). It is form next and says up to one month 10 lb. She is so dinky!

Ginge is fine I think simpson, she has been busy on facebook.

sorry for rivers of snot ange, they are just about drying up here now.

decided that I am not sure i give nathan enough food, so experimented this morning. he ate a whole weetabix and a jar of frutapura then chucked up so i guess he needs more but not in one go !

nicky6 · 18/10/2008 15:11

hi all. all well dh so tired out not even gone to the arsenal game, me doing some work and chalrie has obliged by having a massive lunctime sleep so a peaceful hour or so anyway back to work - good weekend all

simpson · 18/10/2008 17:27

Well it doesn't look like DD can have soya either as a couple of hours after having a soya yogurt she was screaming and straining again....

Oh well

JustKeepSwimming · 18/10/2008 20:30

Ange - don't know how you are coping with bad sleep/teething AND builders in and wiffy carpet too

madmouse - gosh you are old

hope you have had a good day.

nicky - your HV sounds really sensible, not
why was your dh tired?
ds2 had a lovely long nap this afternoon and ds1 was playing nicely in the garden/reading books/eating snack/etc. and i asked dh 'did ds1 nap like this? and did we appreciate the quiet times????'

simpson - your poor dd at least you knew to look out for it, i would have thought soya would be fine...
and now it's ruled out, what's next?
i know a lady at bf group who has rice milk in her tea??
so what formula can she have then? is she ok on whatever she's having at the mo? i remember you tried the hipp organic was it and it didn't suit here - was there soya/milk in that that she was reacting to?
and isn't all formula made from milk??

good day here after awful start, dh took ds1 shopping while ds2 napped, i started, & nearly finished sorting out kids photos - been 4 months since i've done it - on dh's pc. got lots of ds2 loaded onto Snapfish, need to load ds1's tomorrow, then order loads to put into their albums. plus there are special offers on montage things that will make good christmas presents for grandparents.
and dh did loads of cooking so there's loads in the freezer for me to do kids teas midweek when he's away
planning yet another early night any minute and have no idea what my strategy is for tonight - will i feed H the first time he wakes? will i hold out but have another crap night? will i wing it?

back tomorrow with the answer...

simpson · 18/10/2008 21:49

JKS - have been sorting out photos here too. Have not undated DD's baby book for AGES either so have been doing that...

DD can have normal ff but it has taken 3 brands to find one that is ok for her. My gut instinct is that it is not a total dairy intolerance but something in yogurt Going to try a splash of cows milk in her morning porridge and see what happens. Might leave it till Mon/tues though and let her little system recover from the soya yogurt first!!

Lilyloo · 18/10/2008 21:53

Hey all
much better day as i was mummy alone dp tooks dc's pff to his mums so i could do some revision for my maths exam (less than 4 weeks ) managed to do few hours then did some cleaning much easier without any dc!
Then was going to have nap but my dad came up 'ironed out some issues' which have been bubbling since my mum died pre ds 6 but feel better for it!

MM hope you had lovely birthday!

Simpson poor dd she really sounds to be struggling what happens next if she can't have soya ? At least you getting to bottom of it ?

JKS yawn poor you it's a nightmare we not quite as bad only every two hours and luckily dp got up with dd at 6 am this morn! Why do some dc not need to sleep

MrsMc aahhhh cute what a little love

Lucky family time def means a lot if you can mange without money def for you and dd!

Ange couldn't imagine building work on top of lo's we did that pre dc and wouldn't EVER do it again! Our second house was a new build

Well anyone watching x factor ? Am loving Laura , JSL , Alexandra and OWEN that was dp fave song as a lo tonight awwww!

Housemum · 18/10/2008 21:53

Only skim read so spologies. Was helping at local NCT sale from 8.30am - 6.30 pm. Was v good, didn't need anything, bought 2 toys for Amelie for £5.50. Sold a lot as far as Ican tell. The Moses basket went which I was really pleased about, didn't sell the swing and vibrating chair but there were a lot of them. Sold the Bumbo.

JKS - I have just done the latest batch with Snapfish - was about £150 photos, have to sort them out now... (one day)

Anthea book - OK, but I'd borrow rather than buy (try reserving at a library, ours can get most titles for 50p) As an inspiration to get moving, I like "No More Clutter" by Sue Kay (except I think my copy is buried somewhere...)

madmouse · 18/10/2008 21:55

ricemilk is a nono because it is extremely low in just about all nutrients. The doctor can prescribe special formula which is extensively hydrolised and does not give the same reactions.

soy is not that great for babies either as it contains oestrogens and not enough iron

sorry to hear of all the trouble simpson, it is a tricky business and not what you are waiting for. Hoping that she is intolerant and not allergic, that way it is not necessarily for life.

anyone else braved beetroot yet? Will put on new profile pick shortly

Lilyloo · 18/10/2008 21:56

Also anyones dc have eczema ? I remember someone did but she not on here anymore! DD really suffering with it on face it seems ok when she wakes but get's worse through the day!
Has been going on for few weeks and shows as lot's of little dried out spots!
Do you think this eczema or allergic reaction ?
It seems fine am but get's worse through the day although can completely go and then reappear in minutes

MrsMcJnr · 18/10/2008 22:06

Happy birthday Madmouse! I wonder if the oestrogen in soya is the reason pg women should limit their intake.

JKS ? no wonder poor you! No wonder you cried, no sleep is absolutely the worst. I don?t know what to suggest, I am sorry, I hope someone comes up with a magic plan for you x I must get onto snapfish soon

Angechica ? hope you had a nice time out Your poor DS, toast is always a good option here when teething, maybe they just like the feel of it on their gums.

Simpson ? thanks I think all those pics are in the last 6 weeks, the one in the walker is the most recent. Sorry to hear about the reaction to the soy I need to spend some time on the baby book too

Hey Nicky, missing football? DH must be tired!

Lilyloo ? wow, you must be feeling pleased to have cleared the air with your Dad! sorry to hear about the eczema

Housemum ? I?m in Spain so library won?t have that book sadly. I like the sound of the ?No Clutter? one might put that on my Xmas list

madmouse · 18/10/2008 22:27

lily, that is a bit suspect and maybe an allergy. try keeping a diary everytime they flare up remember what you have just fed her, or washed her with.

eczema does not appear that quickly

Nathan has flarups of eczema, at the moment under his chin/his neck although it is getting better. it was lower immune levels due to teething combined with all the drooling I suspect.

Hi all,

Just popping in to say hi. Bad news for DP at work, they've told him if he drops down he prob won't get his main promotion that he's after. They're promised him less strain and that he'll get to go home on time but I think they're just trying to placate him so am feeling bummed out.

2 out of 4 kittens have homes... no interest in the little black one which is my fave.... really want to keep him but i've promised DP I wouldn't. No interest in Mum either!

Lilyloo · 18/10/2008 22:34

That's what i thought MM !
She seems fine when she wakes , well she always has had poor skin but her whole face can become covered in spots through the day!
Today we did no toast am she had banana for breakfast but it still flared up as thought it may be wheat ? Looks like we in for a guessing game! Haven't gone to the docs as not sure it will be there when we get apt!
And am abs hoping it isn't our old dog

simpson · 18/10/2008 22:38

lilyloo - have you changed your washing powder lately? Last winter we had a bit of a mare with DS and rashes and it was the washing powder although it took AGES to get out of his system

X factor - think girl band's days are numbered!!

Madmouse - have got doc's appt for DD in 2 weeks and have to keep food diary for her too. She will probably be referred
