aw thanks Ria..problem is all our friends have kids of their own and/or work full time. We could ask our neighbour and she would jump at the chance we think, but it's a big ask. We were kind of relying on the PILs.

We did ask of they would help out with DS during the hols (as it's close to my date) and that's when they said they were going away so No. Part of me thinks...well you could take him with you.........but they haven't offered and I'm buggered if I'm going to ask.

They live 10 miles away but may as well be a 100 miles for all that we see of them really.

i would try your neighbour if you trust her. It's only a maybe/on standby anyway and if DS & DD like her? (and it would be a big "screw you" to PILs. I am terrible but that would swing it for me)

IamRiallyindisguise · 27/09/2008 22:55

I am virtual boot shopping again. I got DS2 some purple DM yesterday for £2 in our local hospice shop. DH on his way home now though.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/09/2008 22:55

that thought had crossed my mind Ria .....ask her to step in whether the PILs are away or not.

fingers crossed my waters will go after DS has been deposited at school and it will be all over in time for him to pick him up; neighbour can look after DD in the meantime

you need to chant that to virgil whilst rubbing your bump anti clockwise or something! so long as you have some sort of lan you'll be fine, it's if you haven't planned ahead it'l all go tits up (oh that is so easy for "non-PG me just round the corner from my parents and my aunt" to say)

Must go - sore eyes. Night all.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/09/2008 08:37

Phew, it was lovely to be in my own bed last night. And Jamlet must have thought so too as she slept right through Going away is great, but there is something about your own bed. I've put some holiday pics on FB if anyone is interested. And yes, Jamlet really has learned to climb. She started getting the hang of it on holiday and this morning while I was loading the washing machine she started going up the stairs . Thankfully she is currently very slow so had only got two steps up by the time I came back, but I'm sure she'll get faster!

LackaDAISYcal · 28/09/2008 10:32

Glad you feel rested Jammy

Photos are lovely, especially some of the aquarium ones. I wanted to post on your FB wall, but couldn't find how to do it. FB is bloody confusing since they changed it around.

Had a not bad sleep here. DD is still bothered with her innards and we had another massive explosive one this morning. She isn't eating a lot so that is probably explaining the lack of poo.

AAARRRGGGGHHHHHH this baby is driving me mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wassup foxy?

Ohforfoxsake · 28/09/2008 11:17

You'd think with all these siblings and toys she'd be a bit better occupied, but no, she's clambering on me constantly, pulling at my clothes, wanting "MAAAMAAAA". She fishes my nipples out of my clothing, by grabbing them in her pudgy fists and trying to wrestle them off me to stuff in her gob.

Anyway, its a lovely day here. Nothing like sleeping in your own bed, eh, Jammy?

How many weeks left Daisy? I think the more babies you have, the worse the BHs are. My theory is your body 'remembers' and has to work a bit harder each time. As far as going into labour at a convenient time goes, I don't think you can really put off when it starts, but I do think you can control it to some extent (IME anyway). Bit of mind over matter.

Have you thought about hypnotheraphy for pain relief. Bumper might still have a 'back-up' CD. It is very relaxing to listen to, and I thought it was really helpful.

Ohforfoxsake · 28/09/2008 11:19

Reading that, 'body remembers'. Thats a lot of tosh isn't it/ Of course it changes, its never the same again!

LackaDAISYcal · 28/09/2008 11:23

I've got a VBAC hypnobirthing tape......somewhere in the mess and clutter that is my house.......EDD is five weeks on Thursday

I take it the stopping BFing isn't going as well as you'd like then? As much as I am very pro BFing, I don't think I'd like my DCs to be like that with me. Mind you if she is fretting over something (teething?) she probably just needs the comfort.

DD has been put to bed. she had a stone and kept putting it in her mouth and refused to hand it over. I said "I'll count to three and if you don;t give me it, you're going to bed" I started counting, at two she reached over to put it in my hand (good girl), and then on three she put it back in her mouth . So she got put to bed! She is far too clever for her own good.

OP posts:
Ohforfoxsake · 28/09/2008 11:27

LOL at your tricky DD.

Well, giving up BF was going well, until I decided I needed to have her MMR done as a matter of urgency and didn't think I could do it without this particular form of comfort. The news scared me, as apparently london has an epidemic happening at the moment.

I know I'm messing her around, and if I'm honest I feel a bit mean, because she loves bf. So I'm depriving her (which I'm not really).

So I'm just doing it to suit me really and then complaining about it

Blimey! 5 weeks! How exciting! I can't wait. Don't kow about you, but I can't wait!

LackaDAISYcal · 28/09/2008 11:32

can't wait to smell his wee toast like head ansd snuggle him into that wee space under my chin

but shitting bricks about labour! Have a pathilogical fear of a) pooing myself and b) it being full or worms. (this obsession since DSs recent infestation, even though I'm pretty sure I don't have worms!!)

gotta shoot.......we are off out to friends for lunch and DH is champing at the bit for me to get ready.

Not sure what to suggest about the Bfing.

later xx

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/09/2008 12:54

Thanks Daisy. I especially like some of the aquarium ones too.

Trying to persuade DH that we should go out this afternoon as it's such a nice day, but grumpy git just wants to stay in

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/09/2008 12:55

And how is it only 5 weeks left for you? Where has the time gone????

IamRiallyindisguise · 28/09/2008 13:51

can someone tell me that just because I have sucesfully cooked hotdogs and chips for DS1 who invited his friend for lunch on a whim, I do NOT want to even give another thought to my silly idea that I might like to do a Myth and Magic party for halloween!

yet another Sunday where we haven't made it to the boot sale with our stuff, so I'm going to start putting the better bits on ebay. I am going to start with my much-loved vintage biker jacket that I can't get on any more fingers crossed I am going to increase the xmas fund...

Ohforfoxsake · 28/09/2008 14:02

I love the idea of a Myth and Magic party at Halloween Sorry Ria, I'm all for you doing it!

Daisy, don't give a second thought to pooing yourself. I have done it every time. It means you are pushing from the right place - so you are doing it properly.

TMI I wonder?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/09/2008 14:57

I also think you should do the party Ria! I bought jamlet a witches hat from Sainsburys today. She can play with it and we might be going into London with my sister on Oct 31st so I thought it might be fun for her to wear it (as much as I can get her to wear a hat) then?

justbeme · 28/09/2008 16:53

I screamed out my back window at a neighbour an hour ago - as they were having a really smokey bonfire and it totally engulfed our garden and came inside - I was like a banshee - and they ignored me and carried on for another hour.
Can you believe DH - he sat out on a deckchair with the smoke whirrling round him and said - nothing!!!!!!

Sorry had to get that off my chest
welcome back Jammy
and Daisy - 5 weeks!!!!!! I worked out last night I would have had about 15 weeks left. Ive been sad ever since. Mind you dont know if I could have coped!

IamRiallyindisguise · 28/09/2008 17:23

jbm.

I think DH is pretty keen, we don't "do" halloween really but get a few knockers - one year DH made buckets of slime with the treats inside which went down quite well. I don't want ds1 going out doing big kids trick or treating, and i don't want him picked on for not doing it... they could watch Labyrith?

am waiting for DH to stop his soak in the bath so he can make boiled eggs for ds2.

LackaDAISYcal · 28/09/2008 18:19

jbm. I still think of the ages my miscarried babies would be if they had lived, and wonder what they would be like. I don't think that ever leaves you.

myth and magic party sounds lovely Ria....g'wan you know you want to!

Had a lovely afternoon at our friends, just chilling and chatting while the DCs all played happily on the floor or in the garden. Friend is a teacher and she has given me some pointers on DSs incident. She suggested a meeting with the head to express our concerns (re this situation and the other boy threatening and kicking toilet doors in), then follow that up with a letter stating what was discussed in the meeting which we should copy to the school governors. That way if any other incidents ensue, then our concerns are in the record. I will do a letter to the head requesting a meeting tonight. She's also going to have a word with a colleague who is ex primary teacher as she has only ever taught secondary school.

DD never had a sleep today at all, refused lunch, grumbled her way through tea and fell asleep drinking some milk at quarter to six. She has been put to bed in the tshirt she has had on all day, plus some leggings that we managed to wriggle her into when she was still half awake....bless her.

And I have a stinking cold that has been brewing all day

JBM and daisy. Can't imagine how that must feel.

Daisy that sounds like a sensible way forward. Hope DD's early night doesn't mean an early morning!

I'm holing myself up in the bedroom for half an hour, haven't had a moment to myself all weekend. I took DD out for a about 3 hours yesterday to give DH some peace after a whole week with her. This morning we went to recce the boot sale for doing our own and then went to sainsbos. After lunch DH went off for a sleep so took DD out again then rushed around trying to make dinner as we were supposed to be having friends over tonight but DH hadn't checked his phone and they had cancelled. Made some oat cookies, spent ages making a butternut squash and cheese tart which tasted crap as I didn't soften the squash enough so that was a frigging waste of ingredients plus I have 3 extra portions - urrghhh! So I told DH I needed half an hour to myself in the bedroom. Bliss...

LackaDAISYcal · 28/09/2008 18:43

Ah well, we need to be up for school anyway. I'm also having an early night due to this bloody cold, so it won't be too bad if she is.

Weekends when you work full time are such a blur really.
