Just thought I'd better set up another thread as the old one is just about to run out.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

libra - I actually have less time. On a school day I get up at 6:30am so I can get dressed and do my make up and hair before the dc get up at 7am.

Libra1975 · 12/09/2008 16:03

oh in that case I would be up at 6:50am

pigleychez · 12/09/2008 16:45

HUGE thunder storm kicking of here! Im shitting myself but Abigails fast asleep inher swing!

Abigail had her 6 week check today (at 7 weeks)
and did mummy proud Nurse fell in love with her and wanted to take her home. Abigail was wide awake, very alert and smiling her head off at the nurse. Glad to say all is good and she is in fine health.

Now weighs 10lb 5ozs and is on the 98th percentile for her height and head circumfence... so a big headed giant!

Pleased with myself now as the house is very tidy, completely hoovered and looking good! - Only cause the In-laws are coming to visit tonight on their way back from holiday in Cornwall

Hi all, just popping to say I'm still alive. Logan had a hellish couple of days where I've realised he DOES have reflux like DS1 and DS2 had. So, am sadly giving up bfing so i can get control over the situation fast. He had his DTP yesterday and broke his heart. So did I, sobbing away in the corner.

Peanut, DS1 was 6 months old when I got pregnant with DS2. I was 34 and 36 when born - so same as you really. They are so close now, it's lovely. And they fight a lot too.

It's getting good here - meeting some folks now and learning how to drive everywhere. Getting my hair done tomoroow but have been warned that they'll blow dry my hair "Lebanese style" - i.e. all pouffy.

Anyway, will take more time to cach up on everyone elses's news.

I have been trying to write on/read MN all day and my screen keeps coming up blank and blue...is anyone else having this problem?

My DH and I went to Lapland a few years ago and had a fabulous time. I think the agency you go with makes the difference. I have heard people felt rushed and some equipment a bit below par, but we thought it was amazing.

Peanut - I wish I could have had my DS a lot sooner. The 4 year gap makes me a little sad. I had a lot of trouble getting pregnant and had a few losses, but I definitely regret not starting to try sooner. At 37 and taking into account how terrible I feel during pregnancy I feel I have left it too late.

I have to say exhaustion is my current form of contraception.

JODIEhadababy · 12/09/2008 20:30

Hi all, sorry for the rant earlier, but was nice to get it off my chest, and thanks for all your replies! He still had a moan again tonight, I can see where he is coming from, it is a pain not being able to have dinner in peace, and it is a pain having to entertain the troups all day long, it is a pain watching Cbeebies, it is a pain changing nappies etc etc, but it's all worth it in the end, and we all had cuddles on the bed before bed time tonight too!

Sam been awake ALL day today, from 6, he has only had a 1/2 hour nap, surely that can't be normal? He went to bed at 7.15, but he was screaming tired! He's been fine aswell, no grumbles (until about 6ish) weird Child!

SK Will be thinking of you this weekend, I have pictures of you running about the house, potty in hand trying to 'catch the wee'!!

Rumpel Enjoy your event tomorrow, enjoy your time without them! Just think, you'll beable to go to the toilet on your own! (and have a piping hot cup of coffee!) The only down side is not having a buggy to hang your shopping off!!!!!

I had Sam weighed this week and he is only 11lbs at 10 weeks bless him. He's so much smaller than his brother ever was! (but he's also alot taller)

For those of you wih P & T's, are your babies still in the cocoon? I put Sam in his today and his head and feet touch the bottom and top, but the 'seat' itself looks really uncomfy in comparison. What are you doing? maybe I should pad it out with nice soft blanckets and sheets???

JODIEhadababy · 12/09/2008 20:57

Was just looking at our 'Due In July' threads. Doesn't it seem such a long time ago when we were all preggers!
libralady was the first one EVER to post (she started the very first thread!)

I thought I came in quite early, but I was 3 threads in!!!

Ahh memories!

Minkus · 12/09/2008 21:41

Aw RumpelWeeble I love the squashed biscuits image in a tears-of-empathy-but-funny-too sort of way. Funny, with ds1 I was of the neatly coiffed and shod libra and isaidno variety (you lucky lucky ladies! With lucky lucky dp/h's too )- but back then then I had a baby who slept . You and I have Calvin and Louis who sound like birds of a feather- is he sleeping more than 1.5 hours at night without a feed now? Louis does go from 7-2 but then wakes around 4.30 for a good scream and only goes back off at 7 twhich point ds1 wakes up so I am royally screwed in the sleep department.

Pigley Abigail sounds a right charmer! Do all the old ladies coo around her? So cute when they do that.

Can't remember what I did with ds1, L is 10 weeks now and still napping downstairs during the day. Might start leaving his moses basket upstairs and getting him to snooze up there instead. (Although this does mean I would be up and down the stairs like a yoyo as he doesn't settle himself at all very well.) He still can't go more than about 40 mins awake, needs a little half hour nap at least. Is everyone elses baby much more wakeful? If so maybe I should be trying to keep him awake for longer and maybe he'd sleep better, but when he's tired he just cries and cries until I cuddle him tight at which point he drops off. He's so difficult to predict! Unreadable babies, pah.

shortshafe · 12/09/2008 22:46

hello!!

(just took me 3 attempts to spell 'hello' correctly - god I'm tired!!)

JODIE - I didn't get the cocoon for our p&t, just pad it out with a nice thick fluffy blanket - Isaac looks very snuggly in it, and he sleeps well in it so it must be comfy enough!

re age gaps, there's 21 months between mine (I got pregnant on dd's 1st birthday) and it's worked out really well, dd hasn't been jealous or difficult (tiny bit of regression but nothing huge)and the routines etc. seem to fall in well together. It is bloody hard work when they both want something at the same time, and dd still wakes 2/3 times a night so sleep is a real luxury, but overall I'd do it again!

An old lady stopped me to coo over Isaac today, then told me he has 'very distinctive features' should I be insulted!?

Peanut73 · 12/09/2008 23:30

thanks everyone for the advice re spacing out your LOs!

donutmum - nice to hear from you, and that things are panning out well... i soooo know what you mean re the 'lebanese style' hairdo. It was all over our TV screens when 'house of saddam' was on too... fingers crossed for you girl!

jodie - weirdly i had a day with charlie not sleeping at all and not settling due to complete over-tiredness tonight. Ended up having to wear him in the sling... first time that has happened.

Oh - we went to swimming lessons today! Soooo cute. Charlie was mesmorised. Didn't smile, but didn't cry either, just staaaaared at everything.

I gave charlie a bath in the big bath last week and i dropped him and he slid under the water for a second... i was so incredibly upset it was horrible. So i was very relieved that he wasn't too traumatised in the pool today.

mama2leah · 13/09/2008 09:21

hiya allllllllllllll

wel leah slept from 11: 2:30 woke up for a feed, back to sleep , woke up at 6:05, and still sleepin now...

EEC · 13/09/2008 11:48

Hello - one handed typing again. terrible night - up since 3.and now he is all sweetness and light as if butter wouldn't melt!

had 6 week check yesterday (at 7 wks). A hefty 11lb 9oz so no more trying to fool me into thinking I'm starving him!

Contraceptive wise I'm thinking of the mirena coil - anyone else had this?

Peanut - we had 20 mths between DS1 and DD - a really good gap - better than our current gap of 10 years!

Donutmum - sorry to hear about reflux, but at least now you know you can start dealing with it. My neice had it so I know it's hard.

I'm an unwashed hair, no makeup mummy at the moment, but isaidno has prompted me to start making an eforrt... starting tomorrow

MINNIE1 · 13/09/2008 11:59

isaidno · 13/09/2008 16:23

Poppy's hair is all falling out! No haircuts here!

MINNIE1 · 13/09/2008 16:36

Still getting around to cutting DD2 hair and she is 21mons old!!

Evening so far is DP and his friend have taken DD1 and 2 to get the meat etc, leaving me with DD3 and some chill time.. So i am running around clearin the toys and cleaning up!! great chill time...

mama2leah · 13/09/2008 17:00

shaved her hair at 7 days...and it was shlder lengthou

sweetkitty · 13/09/2008 17:33

at hairy babies, B has more hair than her sisters but sitll doesn't have much, I believe the darker colouring they have the more they have to begin with. I know a few very blonde children and they were bald for ages! Definite blue eyes here though same colour as the other two and me

potty training, day 1 update we are 4 out of 8 pees in the potty, no poos which has been great, DD2 has been in the shower with me after smearing poo in her hair, oh the joys!

B was very snuffly last night getting very frustrated about not being able to breathe and feed bless her.

No periods here not expecting them for a while until she's weaned at least.

Got a wedding in 2 weeks don't really want to go (DPs friend) tried on the dress I'm wearing and it's snug but not too bad, mostly around the boob area but I seem to have expanded in that area since last year SIL babysitting we are only going for the wedding and meal won't stay past 8 I reckon. I am thinking of taking the breastpump in the car so I can nip off and express milk when my boobs get really sore, the things you have to think of.

I'll probably fall over wearing heels again and having my hair down and lippy on!

isaidno · 13/09/2008 18:28

m2l - why did you shave leah's hair? is that a cultural thing?
