Just thought I'd better set up another thread as the old one is just about to run out.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pigleychez · 27/09/2008 20:30

hehe Jodie, I hadnt thought about that!

Ive just updated my profile page including a pic of Abigail in her (giant)Bumbo.

JODIEhadababy · 27/09/2008 21:02

OMG Pigley, she looks so old! (I would never say ahe was only 9 weeks) All that hair, she's beautiful.

JODIEhadababy · 28/09/2008 14:34

Everone must be busy/hungover...

cass66 · 28/09/2008 17:52

Well, my hangover was slept off (fantastic grandparents staying who babysat AND let us have a lie in) but my feet still hurt, despite me wearing what I thought were 'comfy' high heels. kids totally hyper today due to g'parents, so hubby has taken them swimming. Ed on baby gym. no Cbeebies on, no radio, just baby noises and the odd rattle. Bliss.

Waiting for someone from freecycle to come and collect a no longer needed purple bike. will be good if they turn up. have got rid of a few things this weekend, less clutter in the garage now. Cass.

New pix on facebook.

libralady · 28/09/2008 17:53

Where is everyone Jodie?

Hello all, Can't believe we have teeth on this thread already, mind you only one of the children on the June thread has one that has just popped through!

Just been on my Maire Curie Cancer Research Ladies Driving Challenge today at Bovington Camp. Had a fabulous day in the glorious sunshine. Managed to personally raise £198 which will be matched £4£ by my company.
Managed to get to drive a Falklands War Military Jeep, a 4x4 offroader which entailed going up steep hills and down into water splashes, a fire engine with full blues and twos going whilst overtaking the HGVs and finally a 64ft articulated HGV with trailer!

I am now absolutely shattered. It is surprising that although I drive everyday, how much I am mentally drained having to concentrate so much on what I was doing.

Right better go and prepare the roast dinner.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine.

Hello everyone - I can hear an echo!! Its been rather quiet today. Maybe everyone is out enjoying the last of the sunshine.

Jodie- I agree! Abigail does look much older. I think its the hair!
Makes me think shes not my tiny baby anymore
She amazed me last night whilst playing with her. Her hand eye co-ordination is soo good and could easily take the toy off me and used pointed out fingers to hook the links ect. We played for over an hour, with great concentration and full of smiles.. it was lovely

Cass- Glad you had a nice time. Love the pics too

Libra- Your day sounds like great fun!! And well done your company for matching the money.

We have had a day sprucing up the kitchen.
We have decided now to try and move in the next year to somewhere bigger so instead of doing the decorating and improvements we had planned we are now just going to do the cosmetic touch up jobs. Going to keep us busy for a bit!

Libra1975 · 28/09/2008 19:48

Hello all, just had a fab b'day weekend. Had a party last night where lots of my friends met Alexander for the first time. He was an absolute angel all day and then woke up 5 times between mid-night and 6am .

Weather has been gorgeous, reckon everyone is out in the garden with their LOs making the most of it.

LL - Well done on the money raising!

isaidno · 28/09/2008 20:10

I'm exhausted, but it was nice to get out. Poppy was very well behaved.

Lovely pics minipink and pigley. Poppy had lots of hair when born, but the sides have rubbed off so she has a mohican now. The sides are growing back, but really blonde so you can't see them.

Minkus · 28/09/2008 23:21

hi everyone

well party was brilliant we had about 100 people in our modest sized 3 bed house/gazebo in the garden. It was absolutely manic until about 10pm when it calmed down a bit, the bouncy castle was deflated and SingStar came out I love that game! Children all had a great time, and my wonderful boys received some fantastic presents which was so lovely, it's been like christmas here today with all the unwrapping.

Bed came a 4am, go three hours sleepoh my god what am I still doing up now! Have come to the conclusion that I am one of those people that needs very little sleep cos I am actually managing ok even though The Boy is still not a great sleeper. But zzzzs are calling- night all! xxxx

NotAnOtter · 28/09/2008 23:37

pigley she looks so adorable

a wise little girl!!

put a pic of N on profile ( he used to be A but changed names round!)

JODIEhadababy · 29/09/2008 08:55

Notanotter, beautiful..... What else can I say, what lovely eyes.. So are we going to find out the name this time (I'm still dying to know what A was too...) PLEASE

Minkus Glad it all went well, what did you end up calling the 'godparents' (forgive me if you've already said)

Libralady Wow all that driving sounds like fun!!! Glad you had a nice day

Libra1975 Lucky you being able to sleep through the hangover, I'm hoping my parents will take the boys for 1 night during our holiday (we aren't stopping with them this time as there isn't the room) so I can suffer a decent hangover!

Tjuice Peanut Kaz mama2leah Bebe Disney Where are you all???? (and anyine else I might have forgootten.)

purplejennyrose · 29/09/2008 10:16

Glad everyone seems to have had a lovely w/end.

Well we certainly enjoyed the sun yesterday - went to lunch with two other couples from our 'antenatal' group, who have both just had second baby - BBQ and lovely lovely food in the garden, then to town park for a ride on the miniature railway, look at the ducks, play on the playground and then...watched a dozen hot air balloons take off at close range - big field next to the play area so everyone stands amongst the balloons! It was spectacular - once they leave the ground they go up very fast!

I want a ride on one now..

It's lovely outside now, so perhaps the weather will last a bit longer.

Great to be in the garden every day - dd1 has her playtent, seesaw and trampoline, and we've reinstated the garden furniture. Had all the mums and toddlers / babies from our 'group' hereon Fri which was knackering but nice.
Sleep slowly improving..
Have good days everyone!

ponto · 29/09/2008 10:33

Hello, I'm still around but lurking while feeding mainly - find it difficult to post one-handed.

I'm wondering whether Bryony may have reflux - the last few days she has been possetting loads, then crying afterwards, arching her back and turning her head away from me. Took over 2 hours to get her to sleep last night, then she was awake for another 2 hours in the night. Both times she was better after having some gripe water, which probably helped neutralise the acid, but she really hates taking it and screams and chokes when I give it.

I know there are some others around with reflux, does this sound familiar?

disneystar · 29/09/2008 12:59

TJuice · 29/09/2008 13:25

hi ladies

me and Elodie are doing well. the health visitor came round today and elodie has doubled in weight, which is good for 4 months. She is 6.5kilos now. also her head is rounding out nicely. But she has an extra crease on one thigh so she will see the orthopeidic surgeon next week. He checked her hips at birth but its an extra check up.

she also has a tooth! little muncher!

talking of hangovers - I had the mother of all hangovers on sat. went round to a friend's for risotto on Friday night (left elodie at home with dh) and we drank a box of wine. That's right, A BOX! So gross! I actually cycled home and crashed out on the spare bed and poor dh had to give poor dd formula in the morning too!

feel bad, but then, its been well over a year since i got mashed like that and boy did i pay for it.

hope everyone is doing well. my baby yoga class was cancelled so i am thinking of taking her to music and movement instead. are you all doing lots of extra-curricular baby things yet???

isaidno · 29/09/2008 16:29

tjuice - a box of wine!!!!!!!

purplejennyrose · 29/09/2008 16:30

ponto, could be reflux -dd1 had it. does she like to be upright and scream when laid flat?
Does she like to suck?? Suckling makes extra saliva which neutralises the acid, apparently - although if sucking is also feeding it makes the problem worse again!

disneystar · 29/09/2008 16:37

tjuice i dont have the time do go to any classes for samuel or me or together which is a shame
but we have lots of special times at home lunchtimes are good for us after his feed we have nappy free times and i do baby massage he loves it and calms him
minipink i guess you are the same the day is devided into chunks
morning hectic trying to get them out of the door
morning shopping or housework
afternoons get them from school
then dinner
then totally had it around 6pm like c,mon 7pm nearly bedtime
well its like that here my day starts from 4.30am and ends when samuel sleeps and he doesnt go through the night yet
ladies can i have your ideas on how to get sam longer through the night
hes awake now will fall asleep around 6ish then he wont wake up till 9or 10
should i just let him nap then and wake him at 7
routine ideas please

DonutMum · 29/09/2008 17:09

ponto, sounds like reflux to me. Try keeping her upright for 15 mins after a feed - difficult in the night feeds I know but sometimes find L isn't so bad then anyway. Another thing I do just befoe his bedtime bottle and after his bath is pump his legs up and down, which makes im laugh, and give him a bit of tummy time to help stretch him out a bit. Do you give infacol before each feed too? Makes winding easier.

disney, L's "routine" is up at 6am, feed at 6,10,1,3.30, 5.30 start bedtime bottle(theoretically..)bath at 6pm, playtime (see above), bed at 6.30. Then we wait for him to wake up (although I'm going to "force" it at 10pm soon)- usually 12 or 1am, then he wakes up at 3 or 4 for another feed, which I want him to drop soon haha! So, given Sam wakes at 4.30 - this might adapt well to him.

tjuice - yummy, a box of wine. bet you felt rancid.

isaidno · 29/09/2008 19:59

Poppy's routine -
wakes by 7am, feeds, short nap about 8:30am on school run, feeds, nap for 40 mins ish about 11am, feeds, nap about 1pm for 40 mins ish, feeds, short nap about 3pm during school run, feeds, nappy off about 5:30pm followed by bath, feed and in bed about 7pm. She wakes at 1am, 3am and 5am.

Unfortunately our day is dictated by the running back and forth to school and other activities. I am trying to encourage her to take less naps, but for longer. TBH I have no idea how many times a day I feed her!!

Disney - is Sam still quite teeny for his age; I know you've had feeding problems. You can't really expect him to sleep through until he is bigger and stronger.

NotAnOtter · 29/09/2008 20:07

N's routine... (bear in mind the 1st bit has only been for a week)

8-8.30am feeds - back to bed - nap till 11 or 12 midday

feeds then maybe a nap on the school run or put back to bed

feeds at 5 ish then usually awake until

8-8.30 feeds and bed

11.30-12.00 woken for nappy change and feed sleeps until 8.30am

Gawd knows why i am so drained as i get good sleep but he is really beefing up - i think he is 13lbs now at 11 weeks

JODIEhadababy · 29/09/2008 20:19

Sam's 'routine'
Feeds at 7ish then every 3-4 hours after that. He gos to bed between 7 and 7.30. I wake him for a nappy change and a feed at 11, he wakes at 3.30am.

As for naps in the day, it really depends on what were are doing, if we are at a mother and toddler group then he goes in the sling while I'm watching DS1, he tends to doze then. Also if we're in the car. But generally, on a normal day he will have one long 3 hour nap about lunchtime. Which suits me as it coincides ith DS1's nap, so I get a nice quiet lunch, although I've cursed that now haven't I...

disneystar · 29/09/2008 21:36

isaidno sam is still quite small i guess he weighs 11 lb at 13 weeks
hes asleep now at 9.30 hes been asleep an hour would you leave him or wake him at around 11 if i leave him im worried he will wake at 12 thinking its morning
hes a difficult one alright all my others were going 8 hours through the night at this age but your right im expecting to much but you guys have to admit its tough doing the night feeds for 3 mths solid

Minkus · 29/09/2008 22:23

Disney I reckon 1lbs sounds a pretty decent weight. Even if he is little as long as he's loosely following his curve in the red book I guess all is ok. If I wake L at 11 ish or whenever to give him a feed it does make a difference but the wrong way round- he's more likely to wake at 2 instead of 4! Odd. Not much help either, sorry! I agree too that doing all the night feeds isn't easy- in the day I don't feel tired so much, but when Louis wakes me in the night OMG I feel rancid (to coin Donuts phrase, brilliant!)- but take heart, it shouldn't last much longer I hope. For all our sakes!

Jodie we decided on VIP's for the non-godparents. I was going to do a little speech at the party but time just ran away from me and before I blinked it was 10 pm and a bit late as most of the families had gone and just the folks able to drink were left (most of whom were in a totally unfit state to listen )

Isaidno I also have no idea how often Louis feeds (today it has been loads and loads though, think he's having a growing spurt) and only routine really is that I've noticed he wakes around 7, goes back to sleep after about an hour and a half for around 45 mins, then its 1.5 hrs awake/45 mins sleep all the way until bedtime at about 7.30ish. Feed at 4am ish.

Well done Miss Elodie on your tooth Bet you look gorgeous!

TMI alert- Louis has had really green poo for the last few days. As in green like cooked spinach or duck poo, quite dark and sticky. Any ideas what could cause this?

Minkus · 29/09/2008 22:32

Ha! 11 lbs not 1lb! Sorry, maybe sleep deprivation affects me more than I thought...
