Happy Anniversary Jammy

In 2001 I was at work when someone came into the tea room saying what had happened and we all said "yeah, right" as you do...then I was being kept updated by a constant round of phone calls from my sister that afternoon as the internet was impossible to get on to. I didn't have Sky at the time so went straight from work to my mum's to watch CNN.....I was gobsmaked. DKMA - that must have been SO scary (my dad was in the fire brigade and was on the King's cross fire and that was pretty scary as well).

Well, I have a day off work, DD is at nursery, my DH is doing the last day at his job and is going our getting plastered tonight and I should be doing housework

Riaonabroomstick · 12/09/2008 08:56

(previous post so short to find out what U changed my name to the other night after "some" wine. It is not my halloween name, it is my step mum name. But it will do for both)

I am knackered. Super respect to foxy for having 4 DCs. I cannot cope. (though maybe I could consider the 19yo to be 4 4yos?) I have to say I was wonderful yesterday. DH went off to work at 9.45 and was out until 8.20 last night. I don't think I have ever spent that length of time with DSS on my own, but we did wonderfully. I made meals and washed up and cleaned things, and found him some jobsearch websites (because that is my areas of expertise) and we even touched on his weight problem. I would like a stripe for the end of my broomstick.

I LOVE your new name foxy.

Riaonabroomstick · 12/09/2008 08:56

Obviously I changed my name, not U

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/09/2008 09:02

That's ladies. It'd hard to believe that TEN years have gone by. So we are having a lovely lunch, as I said, to celebrate and are looking at having a weekend away in November as a belated celebration too (combined with a birthday treat for me).

OK, time to go get dressed. Having a quiet morning (Jamlet currently back in bed for a nap) but really can't go out in my jamas with a jumper of DH's thrown over the top (I have to roll the sleeves up to type!). Not a good look I fear.

FrazzledFairyFay · 12/09/2008 09:05

Oooh that Manchester fantasy meet up sounds fun

Happy anniversary, Jammy

FrazzledFairyFay · 12/09/2008 09:19

ARSE to the idiot who drank my milk off the doorstep this morning, and left the half empty bottle behind, meaning that I had no milk for the DCs cereal. TOSSER. Sorry, as you were......

LackaDAISYcal · 12/09/2008 09:25

pmsl at the manchester meet up scenario DKMA . although I'm loving the idea of lots of free stuff

that must have been pretty scary for you back in 2001. for your dad losing two friends.

happy anniversary jammy; hope you have a nice lunch

I need sleep. Went to bed at 11:30, woke up at just before 1; gave up the bed at 3:30 and then finally got to sleep on the sofa after 4:30........then DD and DH got up at 6

I'm so glad DH is home; as soon as he gets back from school I'm off back to bed.

He is back to meet the director at Morrns today and has been asked to give a presentation on some of their packaged products; what's good, what's bad, what can be improved etc. Here's hoping they like what he has to say.

You must be exhausted Daisy. Have a nice sleep. Right, I am off to try and have a RL. We're going to Cornwall tomorrow so will 'see' you all in a week, unless of course I sneak back later, when I should be packing

LackaDAISYcal · 12/09/2008 09:43

Have a lovely time fairy.

I've would really like to go to Cornwall for my 40th Birthday holiday at the February half term (would love to see the Eden project and Tate St Ives), but DH thinks it's too far to drive with a car full of screaming, tetchy me children.

I must get back to teenage motivation (as DH has gone off temping again, bless him) Is it too early for a drink?

hello,

Lovely to see you again Ria, you are always missed when you disappear.

Have a lovely holiday Fairyfay. Hope you get a rest.

Storm, we are re-thinking a trip to Disney Paris. Have you stayed in the Davy Crocket ranch? Thinking of driving and staying there. Makes it dead cheap by comparison.

liking the plan for Manchester DKMA! Any other takers? Am waiting for DPs work to come back to us with dates.

That 'pulling rank' comment has been bothering me all night. Sorry, didn't mean to sound up my own arse. Best we all bring our latex gloves

LackaDAISYcal · 12/09/2008 14:48

I feel crap . Had a lovely snooze on the sofa for an hour and a half, but have woken up feeling very sick with horrible pains all round my bump. And DH has gone out to his interview and I have to go and get DS in 10 minutes. I farking hate being pregnant.

Ohforfoxsake · 12/09/2008 14:54

You've been overdoing it missus. You don't need me to tell you that .

Get DH to bring home tea, let DS do whatever will make him happy, just do whatever is easiest for you tonight, and the rest of the weekend I think. Got any treats in?

You really don't need to be getting carted off to the maternity unit, do you young lady?

Bumperlicious · 12/09/2008 15:18

ill need your good luck vibes in oct 2ad as chloes having quiet a big operation and a gastric feeding tube fitted at the same time but hoping it may help her get a little better fingers X

tbh i am really run down i dont know how much more i can take? how those parents with realy ill kids cope i dont know its heart breaking

Bumperlicious · 12/09/2008 18:04

Trace that good news. gawd, don't know how you are managing. You sound like you are doing really well. Can you get DH to give a break at all so you can have a bit of time for yourself?

LackaDAISYcal · 12/09/2008 18:04

trace, glad chloe is on the mend . And don't underestimate what you and your family are going through with her. Take it easy and you know how to get me if you need anything

. Nearly keeled over on the way to school , was 10 mins late for DS and it took me half an hour to walk the normally 10 minutes home. I've had really horrible BH contractions, with virgils foot in my cervix and head in my liver every time . Kids have had ready meals and DH is going out for chinese later. His presentation went well; he'll find out next week

Would love to take DS to Disneyland; maybe when the kids are a bit older.

I'm definately having an early night tonight......and I'll get DH to finish building the storage units we bought yesterday

Glad to hear the news about Chloe - glad she's on the mend. I put a parcel in the post for you today, Trace. Hopefully it'll arrive in the morning.

Feels like loads to do before my parents and sis arrive tomorrow But we are going to have a cosy evening, catching up on TV with some wine and crisps. Will be a whirlwind of cleaning in the morning though!

lol at pregnancy close-together-itis

I think that's definately what I have!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/09/2008 18:51

I forgot to say, Jamlet was a star at lunchtime. She ate bread, humous, olives, artichoke, mozarella, tomato, duck liver, bacon, salad, chicken, cucumber, lamb, pepper, couscous, lemon tart, redcurrants, raspberry sauce, chocolate mousse and fudge. Only a little of each mind you, but what a selection!

FrazzledFairyFay · 12/09/2008 20:11

, you must try and take it easy more. I speak from experience, having totally worn myself out in the last 2 months of pg with DS. It's hard work having two babies to look after, and even harder if you're worn out before you even start. Please try and get some more rest and take things slower from now on (lecture over).

Hello everyone. Am mostluy packed and waiting for DH to get home so taht we can pack the car, so have snuck back for another MN 'fix'
