Good evening everyone. Still farkin raining here. Dh has been watching rugby at Twickenham all afternoon, he must be half drowned - still serves him right for being out drinking and having fun on a Saturday

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/09/2008 20:11

Any other ideas welcome...... please.

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/09/2008 20:11

sorry posted that on wrong thread

I have cleared out the bottom of my wardrobe today to accommodate some space for the baby's clothes and am about to go through it all as well jammy. I have three big blue IKEA bags full of clothes to sort through. I'm going to ditch the obvious stuff for the minute, but as I've lost a heap load of weight during this pregnancy, I'm not sure what will or won't fit, so I'm going to shove it all in the attic for the time being and sort it out once I'm back in normal clothes.

DH has been like a bear with a sore headthis evening (the twunt). He took DS out this morning; swimming, then to get a new book bag and then for some new goldfish. They came back, had lunch and then went out to the park with DD so that I could get on upstairs. I think the reality of spening all day on his own with our charming children wasn't as stress free as he expected, so of course he has to take it out on me; getting narky cos I hadn't cleared up the kitchen after lunch, when I spent all the time upstairs as well as doing four loads of laundry. He's off out to babysit for some friends of ours this evening, and we had a right old strop with each other before he left....no doubt the fact it's him out babysitting is a bone of contention as well, but it was him who agreed to the "could either you or J babysit?" question in the first place...aaargh.

BTW, Is anyone thinking of going to the Mumsnet London Xmas party?

NattyThomasAndEllen · 06/09/2008 21:47

hey guys, had a few days off, trying to forget everything, and pretend all is well lol!
DH is home on holiday, we are implementing new disclipline in this house, if tom speaks to me like dirt one more time i swear i will ring his neck
and ellen, my god, she has started saying NO at the top of her voice... and tom told me today "i will push my luck mummy, so there"
our children were sent to try us.. what a day

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/09/2008 21:53

Hi Natty, I hope you are bearing up ok.

I think our DCs are definitely 'sent to try us'. Mine have been pushing me to the limit this week as well.

NattyThomasAndEllen · 06/09/2008 22:09

driving me mad! god i cant wait till they get past the shouting toddler age, i got such a headache!

i had a funny reaction to the smell of my dishwasher tablets today very odd, i was retching... they dont smell of anything do they?

LackaDAISYcal · 06/09/2008 22:57

Oh, natty, I know you have a hard time with tom, but couldn't help a wee chuckle at "I will push my luck mummy". We try and ignore bad behaviour by not responding or walking away, and giving positive encouragement and praise for good (not always successfully it has to be said and by the nhumber of rants I have on here about DS). It's not easy though.

My day has been pretty stress free since they have been out with DH most of the day. His stroppiness was quite amusing really. He was apologising for being grumpy, with a "the kids have been driving me bomkers all day". I just laughed and told him "welcome to my world"

Am off to bed. Killer heartburn, a streaming cold, and bith DCs have the sniffles as well, so we could be in for a night of it.

G'night

WHERE IS EVERYONE!?!? (tumble weed rollsw across the thread)

how is everyone?

well today.. completley diff story.
they were both super in church today, first time in ages, and have played quite nicely no broken bones today lol!

me and tom just walked down to tesco together, to buy the veg for dinner i had somehow managed to forget, and he was picking up the items i told him to, putting back the things i didnt want, without any tantrums
he was telling the lady at the till all about the different soups we had (we had tomato and veg!) and being just so loverly.
he walked all the way there and back with no problem, and was stopping at roads without being shouted at.
after yesterday, my god what a different child, i wonder why he cant be like that all the time.

michael experianced first hand ellens sepeartion anxiety today, she screamed for a few minutes when me and tom popped to tescos, and he said he felt so sorry for her, she was screaming "mmmuuuummmmmmyyyyyy" and pointing at the door! i do like it when our men have to put up with what we do!

Sputnik · 07/09/2008 17:41

That's good Natty
My DD also responds really positively to helping me with little jobs and being given tasks to do.

Today she helped me clean the inside of the car actually, she is becoming quite useful to have around!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/09/2008 19:13

Glad you had a good day Natty What a difference a day makes eh?

Fun day here. Took Jamlet swimming this morning, and to a friend's this afternoon. My friend has 2 boys, the youngest being the same age at Jamlet so they all played together well.

Roast duck in the oven, gotta go...

HellHathNoFury · 07/09/2008 19:51

Evening all.

I am ill with some kind of coughing illness. Ugh.

Hope everyone is well. I don't think I will be going in to work tomorrow as I can't climb the stairs without having what looks like an asthma attack.

Put some new pics on FB if anyone is interested. Yes I know I look ridiculous but I don't care.

Just bought a new camera. Very excited! it needs to arrive soon!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/09/2008 20:36

Fury, sorry you're feeling so poorly. Hope it improves soon. Good pics! And am of new camera. Actually, I love my camera, but might want a new lens next year.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/09/2008 20:36

And a new tripod.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/09/2008 21:05

sorry you're feeling crappy fury; hope you feel better soon

wow natty, sounds like a real change in tom today . Here's hoping he can keep it up like this.

roast duck sounds nice jammy; we had roast beef, yourkshire puds and all the trimmings (with courgettes from the garden, yum), followed by a sort of eton mess. Am stuffed now. I think my body is trying to tell me something about my iron content. I surveyed my shopping when I got back from sainsbos; beef mince, beef joint, lamb meatballs, cooked roast beef, brocolli, spinach and savoy cabbage. Might need to start on the spatone again

My nesting instinct has kicked in . Had the most overwhelming urge to clean the bathroom and only finished it at 8:30. Farking hormones; can't they leave me in peace to be a slummy mummy

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/09/2008 21:18

The roast duck was lush. And I made roasties with goose fat we've had in the fridge since Xmas and they were yum! Of course, we will now have a bowl of duck fat int the fridge for some months until I do roasties again No delicious home made pudding though, choc ices for us.

And I know from experience that this won'r go down well with everyone, but we have left over duck to go on pizza tomorrow night if DH picks up some hoisin sauce

LackaDAISYcal · 07/09/2008 21:25

sounds like good old fusion cooking to me jammy

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 07/09/2008 21:30

DH had the kids out all day again today and left me reading in bed at 8:30 this morning. I finished my book about 9am and nodded off again, only waking cos the phone rang at 11:30. It was lush

and I managed a wardrobe clear out today as well.....big bag for the charity shop, my friend came and took away a heap of work shirts (can't think when I'll need smart shirts ever again!) and then a pile of not great looking stuff for the bin. Couldn't bear to chuck my beautiful size 12 silk dress and jacket from Monsoon that I wore to my sister's wedding (as her maid of honour). Part of me thinks, sell it (was only worn twice) but then the really wishful part of me thinks I'll get into again one day....I think I'm deluding myself.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/09/2008 21:54

Had to go up to a crying Jamlet. Afer a while trying teething gel and cuddles we gave her some calpol. DH went back downstairs and I sat cuddling her. Suddenly she sat bolt upright and pointed firmly at the shelves in her room. "What is it you want darling?" I said as we walked over to the shelves, and she firmly picked up the Calpol bottle I sadly had to tell her she couldn't have any more just yet, but thought it was sweet that she recognised it as being good.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/09/2008 22:19

lol jammy, a calpol junkie at 15 months old

Right, am off to bed; DD is still teething and has the sniffles and is a bit tetchy. DH has gone down to Boston tonight as he is back up tomorrow for our AN course on Tuesday. Have to do lots of houseork tomorrow as the voice of my domestic conscience (ie the mother in law ) is coming over to look after DD on Tuesday. I just hope she doesn't go snooping in our back room

Have a good week everyone

It's interesting isn't it how they're working out how to comunicate. I was dishing out dinner today and Baby Sputnik walked over and stood patiently next to his chair waiting to be lifted in. Must'v been hungry.

Haven't seen Norty for a while, hope she is ok.
