RH, glad you had a good day. I want to take ds there when he's a bit older. I know what you mean about heat warming moments. They make it all worth while

CD, hope you're ok {{{hugs}}} enjoy the wedding

I just found an envelope in my bag from my sister, she must've out it in there on wed(don't use my bag alot and it's full of rubbish important things so was burried!) anyway it had a cheuqe in it she felt bad because the car went wrong, bless her I just rang my nan to tell her and offer to give it to her since she paid for the new car, but she was a bit off with me since I haven't been round since I got the new car. I know i should've but i've been so busy with work/children that before i knew it weeks have passed why is family stuff so bloody complicated. I know she has nothing else to do, she pretty much sits at home everyday, but that's not my fault. It is however my fault in not going round as she was very very kind in giving us the money to buy the car. Yet another thing to feel guilty about and the list goes on........

StealthPolarBear · 30/08/2008 09:08

Morning everyone
Dippy, hope you're OK
Eddas, how lovely of your sister. Sorry your nan is off with you, hopefully she will come round soon.
Was exhausted last night, bed at 9.30. What is going on???

Eddas · 30/08/2008 09:16

Not pg are you spb

you haven't met my nan this is the woman who keeps a diary of when people visit and next time you go round she counts up how long it's been since the last time she doesn't tell you or anything, just makes a mental note as in she hasn't been round for 8 weeks

seriously, she has nothing to do with her time I feel bad but she doesn't help herself. a neighbour tried to get her involved in day trips but because she didn't like one of the other people that goes she won't go!! So instead she sits at home doing nothing she just waits for her family to ome round. My poor aunty. She is my mum's mum and only has my aunty and 5 grandchildren. Apart from me, they all live far away(2 in Nottingham, 1 in Brighton and 1 in London) so I get the guilt trips. I even cop them on behalf of my sister my brother can do no wrong sorry, off on a little rant there! oh and I also get the brunt of the 'you dad married again after mum died' speaches, they're fun

StealthPolarBear · 30/08/2008 09:19

that sounds unpleasant. My grandpa's a bit like that when my mum rings "haven't spoken to a soul in a week" leaving my mum thinking well you could have rang me, plus what about his other 2 sons who live in the same street!

Eddas · 30/08/2008 09:22

and she wonders why we don't go round very often he soudns just like nan. she'll say things like that to my aunt. i feel really sorry for my aunt, bless her, i'd think she gets even more 'guilt stuff' than I do If only she knew that the gc have had photos done and are taking her out for sunday lunch for her bday in october and my aunt is taking her on her hols!! She's gonna be 80 no wonder she's cranky

runnyhabbit · 30/08/2008 09:50

Morning all

Feel soo tired this morning, and my legs are aching after the walking we did yesterday. Just shows how unfit I am

Going to have few hours to myself this morning - dh is taking the boys for a haircut. Would love to say I'll be spending the time in a bubble bath, but really need to tidy the house.

dippy - Have a lovely day. Hope it will be a good distraction for you, iyswim

Hi all

Hope people have enjoyed their various plans for the day, we've just been slobbing round at home. Have finally got all the cds except compilations onto the computer/itunes so that the contents can be put on ipods. I won't be surprised if the PC crashes again soon - it last crashed in June 2006 (just over 2 months before I realised I was pregnant).

We're going for a meal with my dad, my sister (who's expecting first baby next Feb) and her dh. And D, of course. The plan is to stop off in the park for a few minutes en route.

leakyR · 30/08/2008 19:44

Good evening lovely ladies.

Sooo tired this evening. Couldn't switch off my excited mind last night

Had lots of my hair chopped off this morning. It's going to take a bit of getting used to but i think I like it. Went to Heaton Park in Manchester this afternoon with a friend and her 2 ds.It's HUGE, with great play areas, and animal centre and a nice lake with ducks etc. We had fun but George was almost asleep on his feet when we got back to the car.

Thanks for your lovely good wishes and congrats. Hope you all had a lovely day.

BTW have any of you had homebirth? Been thinking I'd like to do have another waterbirth but none of the local hospitals offer it.

Sexonlegs · 30/08/2008 20:31

Evening

We are back from our hols - obviously!

Leaky, massive congratuations to you. I am absolutely thrilled for you. Hope you are feeling ok.

I had an unplanned homebirth! Best thing ever - get to have a bath in your own bath, sleep in your own bed etc etc.

Eddas, oh dear, another guilt-trip nan eh? My gran is a bit like that too. Hope you are ok. And your poor dh. Hope he is on the mend.

Oooggs, I expect you have gone off already, but if not, have a great time away.

Dippy, how are you flower?

Kazza, my dd2 was also born on the 20th April 07 - a great date indeed!

SPB, how are you doing?

MJ, just wanted to say again how lovely it was to meet you and your lovely dc. B really enjoyed E's company, and F is just a honey
If you are ever this way, please give me a call. xx

Runny, sorry we didn't get to meet, but it sounds like you have had a wonderful week.

Hi to WO, GM, Liath, POTC, Pisha, Ange, Dooby, Lexi and everyone else I haven't mentioned!

All good here. Had a lovely holiday although B has been an utter madam at times. The weather picked up yesterday, so we had a day on the beach and B tried surfing! Looked so funny in a wetsuit bless her. Quite glad to be home though. Why is that holiday cottages never have a decent tin opener or pasta bowls??

StealthPolarBear · 30/08/2008 21:16

welcome back SOL we've missed you!

Sexonlegs · 30/08/2008 22:04

Ahh SPB, thank you

Off to bed - looking forward to sleeping in our bed - the one on holiday was rock hard!

Night night xx

liath · 31/08/2008 06:40

Morning!

SOL, glad you had a good holiday. Always nice to be back in a comfy bed though .

Congratulations, Leaky - fab news. Had a home birth here and i=would really recommend it.

Thomasland sounds good, Runny - dd would love it. Might go next time we're down staying with the in-laws.

Had a BBQ yesterday as I reckon this could be the last we see of summer. My poor garden is just starting to recover from the monsoon!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend .

Doobydoo · 31/08/2008 10:52

Morning.Glad you had good hols SOL.Ds1 is now feeling nervous about school and being abit shouty! It was his decision to go.WE have said to see how it goes and to go in with a positive attitude and if he is really not happy he dosen't have to go but to give it a good try.Hope that is reassuring enough.I feel sick with nerves.I have a feeling he is really going to enjoy it and get alot out of it.I do hope so.There are 28 kids in the whole school.
Anyway sorry for ramble.Have good day all.
We are off to our village fun day[oo er]

Eddas · 31/08/2008 11:22

I'm sure i've missed you saying it, but when does ds1 start Dooby? it's normal and good to be nervous. he's probably excited too. I think what you said to him is just right. hope it goes well

hi sol, nice to see you again, glad you had good hols

hi to everyone else

I'm busy busy atm. Trying to sort out stuff for the holiday but also trying to get things rolling re my self employed work. I now have 2 clients gotta start somewhere and am loving the freelance/self employed section on here it's so nice to be able to get help from others and maybe help others myself Am also thinking of becoming an usborn book person(who is it that does it on our thread?) they are doing a free sign up in Sept and i love books. I'd only do it a bit though, unless I like doing it IYSWIM. But it's the best time of year to start up IMO so may well give it a go. Anything extra helps

DH has taken dd off out for a bit today so peace reigns ds currently asleep so am enjoying some mn/tv/snack time

runnyhabbit · 31/08/2008 17:02

Hello all

Does anyone have and iPhone 3g? Dh has bought one and we can't get it to sync with itunes. It's driving us both bonkers. I've started a thread in geeky stuff.

Leaky - would highly recommend a home birth W was planned, and it went to plan too!

Right, really need to get on and throw iphone out of window Back to work tomorrow. J starts school 2 weeks tomorrow

runnyhabbit · 31/08/2008 17:04

oh, just thought I would share with you, W latest food craze - woodlice [bleurgh] Have found him eating 2 in the past 2 days. It takes a lot to make me gag.
This has made me gag[bleurgh again]

CaptainDippy · 31/08/2008 19:14

Boo!

Leaky - SOL had a homebirth Prob not quite the advice you are looking for though Bramshott did one better Not sure anyone on here actually had a planned HB though I had P at a Birthing Centre, which is sort of one step away - was lovely

I am tired!! Wedding was lovely and today has been manic

OP posts:
Eddas · 31/08/2008 19:22

my phone's very untechnical rh so can't help i'm afraid bleugh to woodlouse

hi dippy, as manic as ever in your house then hope you're ok

very quite on here today. I've been sorting out holiday bits on and off and trying to make my house look a bit neater. Always nice to come back to a neat house!

I haven't got any chocolate to eat

StealthPolarBear · 31/08/2008 19:32

Hi everyone
Sorry can't help runny, hope you get it sorted
T has eaten! I know this isn't going to mean much as most children of this age are eating roast dinners and steak tartare but for the last few months it has been raisins, sweetcorn, bread, yoghurts and cereal (and fruit). Tonight I gave him carrots and a turkey twizzler, expecting them to end up on the floor as usual, he'd scoffed the carrots before I even gave him the turkey! He then ate that, a bit less enthusiastically, but still! Fantastic!

CaptainDippy · 31/08/2008 19:33

holiday chocolate.

Sexonlegs · 31/08/2008 20:39

Evening all

Dooby, hope your ds is ok. It is a scary thought going to school, but as you say I am sure he will get lots out of it.

Runny, clueless re technology here I'm afraid!!

Dippy, glad the wedding went well. Have they figured out what is making you poorly?

SPB, really glad T is eating better. It is always such a worry isn't it? How does he eat at nursery? It seems that K will eat everything there, but is a fussy madam at home

How is everyone else? So quiet on here atm. Had a lovely day even though the weather has been pants. B and K are getting on like a house on fire - they really look out for each other
