Your welcome Simpson. I have to say Mumsnet is pretty fantastic if you need to vent or advice. I have found it a God send and have made some bril friends on here
I hope something turns out for you all thats pretty amicable if at all possible. Hold your dc close and take each day at a time.

Lilyloo · 18/09/2008 22:20

simpson · 18/09/2008 22:28

Gingeme - you are definitely right

Feel bad that all the crying and wingeing DD was doing was probably due to picking up tension

Ds is ok just need to sort out his pre school.

I know what you mean about hugging Dcs...

MrsMcJnr · 18/09/2008 22:45

Hey ladies just a very quick post as I have a friend staying

Thank you all for your support, some very wise words, maybe DH does feel left out

Simpson - thinking of you all the time, wish I could help x

LaTrucha - I'm glad your brother has been fine but sorry to hear of all his trouble

DS had his first swimming lesson today, he loved it and slept on me (first time since he was tiny) all the way home on the bus!

Hi all

Things seem much better today have spoken to DH and he seems back to "normal" whatever that is!! its the medication working, I think. The mental health team were out this morning then gave me the rundown and they are back to see him at 4 ish.

My dad spent 2hrs with him this morning while DS at playgroup (have managed to extend his place till half term) and my mum is going round after work at 5ish.

DD is finally having a nap. Ds fell asleep in car on way back from playgroup and has been grumpy but has finally snapped out of it my dad had to bribe him with a visit to the park and an ice cream

Lucky - definately got your hands full there!! Bet the kittens are really cute though.

Mrs Mcjnr - Hope things are better with DH. After DD's christening she fell asleep on me for the first time since she was 3 or 4 weeks old, it was lovely

Lilyloo - take your well deserved break put your feet up later too with glass of wine..

LuckySalem · 19/09/2008 15:35

Kittens and mum are seriously no problem at all. They're all in my spare room and the kittens aren't wandering yet. They just sit in their crate happy as larry.

Glad things are getting better slightly Simpson. Keep your chin up.

simpson · 19/09/2008 15:41

Lucky - much more positive today. Am seriously contemplating going back to work for 2 days as I think if you work under 16hrs the Govt help with childcare. Its something to think about anyway.

My mum is taking DD over tomorrow and will get DH out of the house so I can get in and get paperwork that I need to show CAB

simpson · 19/09/2008 15:43

Forgot to say Madmouse I may well email you when I have all the paperwork etc if that is ok?...

Gingeme · 19/09/2008 15:47

That sounds a pretty good step forward simpson. Fingers crossed it continues. Slowly but surely.
We went to playgroup this morning and George was showing off his clapping skills to anyone that would watch H e also fell asleep on me this morning. All the other Mums said 'oh your so lucky, my dc wouldn't fall asleep like that'.
Ooh lucky I bet theyre so cute. I love it when theyre teeny and helpless.
MrsMcJnr how are things now? I hope you have a peaceful weekend.
Well I hope you all have a nice weekend whatever your doing. Were going to look for Halloween stuff. ds4 is 2 in October and weve decided to do a birthday/halloween do.

madmouse · 19/09/2008 16:32

simpson sure that is ok.

must say the child care help is over 16 hours sorry

just back will post later

simpson · 19/09/2008 17:45

Madmouse - how many hours is it then? Am quite happy to work up to 3 full days a week...

I need to think about this to look at nurseries etc...

DD caught me out earlier today when I was shopping. She had a bottle at 11am and I thought she would last till 12.30 when I would get back for her lunch. She had other ideas and started screaming and I mean SCREAMING the place down.Had to buy yogurts and feed her with a plastic M & S spoon

Lilyloo · 19/09/2008 19:01

Simpson good news!
On the tax front i worked 3 days and got childcare help. If you put it in the tax credit calculator you should get some idea what you would get. Basically it's over 16 hours! If i go back to 22 hours my cc costs would be £800 which is pretty much my wage. But cc will pay up to 80% of your cc costs. Makes it only just worth while returning for me however juggling childcare is putting me off!
I am thinking of getting a job at asda it's local to me and doing some evenings! That way dp can have dc's and no childcare and think i would likely be better off!
It's tough weighing it all up wish i could just stay at home and we had the money not to worry about it!
Lucky sounds lovely!
Gingeme bless George sounds like he likes being centre of attention!

Well Simpson i am now cradling large glass of wine and dp entertaining ds and dd1 dd2 in bed!

OP posts:
madmouse · 19/09/2008 20:45

Lily sounds good (wine and job) but make sure you have some time left for you and dp too!

Met with my manager today re my request for part time work and have been asked to consider moving to our leicester office (fine with me) and be a part time manager, supporting someone who has just started managing for the first time and also I will be able to help the office develop further and make new contacts with other agencies. it also means staying on my old wages, all be it pro rata so i am a very happy bunny, although I have had indications that some of my old team were rather looking forward to my return. flattering I am sure but they have coped without me for a year almost and so I cannot be that important . have been asked to think about it but have pretty much decided.

colleagues looked after nathan while I was out with manager having coffee, until they called and said they had all held him and tried all his toys but now he would not stop crying and could they feed him? , decided to return to office to find tearful blotchy baby desperate for mouthful of boobie and soon happy again

travelled by train, had to use overflow carpark and got stuck looking for exit that I could get to with pushchair. helpful madam from virgin train says take those stairs over htere they are ok with pushchair. except not, cue upset babe and mum. then boarded a train where every passenger took three seats with huge suitcases, parked buggie in front of unused door took Nathan out and guard asked if i minded folding it cheek! I said no I cannot fold it with one hand. Total stranger offered to hold baby. don't think so not folding it. He did not ask again. Must have given him a stern look, silly man.

Back to some self indulgence, bought a dvd of the pilot series of London's Burning at Tesco. Used to watch it back in holland when i still lived with my parents. Anyone remember it?

justkeepswimming · 19/09/2008 20:56

mm - used to like that programme, something about those men in uniform!! (there were SOME women in it i think!?!)
sounds good re work.

simpson - things looking more positive for the short term, and think that's all you can think about at the mo. glad you are arranging times for dcs to see daddy, tho telling them it's holiday with g-parents and filling their days will work too if he upsets them, esp ds
thinking of you and sending positive vibes from essex....

cute moment from ds1 - earlier we had 'made' furniture from megablocks for 2 toy men, incl beds. they were on 'sofa' watching tv when we went to watch night garden. at the end of night garden he rushed off (i thought to play & delay bedtime) for me to find him climbing stairs and saying 'men in bed'...
checked playroom and yes, he had put the men in their beds aww cute

ds2 up for 2 feeds last night so tired mummy here. brother came from london for the day so we all went to the park, fed ducks, did playground and lunched at the cafe, home then ds2 napped, ds1 chilled with Cars dvd and bro & i shared a beer in the garden in the sun, all good

hoping for more sleep tonight, not sure of plans for weekend - anyone doing anything special?

LuckySalem · 19/09/2008 21:01

Me and Aaliyah have had an ok day here today (Things are looking up since I ranted) Lovely morning, then DD had a nap and woke up crying for about 1/2 hr. Was horrible, don't know the reason but nothing made it better.
She's had Spag bol for dinner and made a nice mess for me to clean in abit.

Took some more pics of the kittens and spent 1hr brushing mum which she LOVED. Could already offer them homes 3 times over! lol

Me and DD going to a friends' son's 1st Bday party tomorrow. Gotta go shopping in the morning for a present but have no idea what to get him as he doesn't sit alone yet so i'm a little limited in things I can get him that will challenge him but not too complicated that he can't use.

justkeepswimming · 19/09/2008 21:04

he prob has lots he can use at the mo, so why not think of something for the future more?
books always good - any of the axel schaeffler (sp?) series are fab.
or do you know if he likes any particular tv shows? there's always space for night garden stuff here!!

LuckySalem · 19/09/2008 21:15

I already thought of books but she says he's already got LOADS.
I think she said he liked fireman sam (didn't know it was on TV anymore lol) and pooh & Friends. but no more teddies.

Was thinking of just giving her money (he has a trust fund set up) but that's abit of a cop out.

justkeepswimming · 19/09/2008 21:20

actually money towards fund would be good here. but i know lots don't like that.
we have a cool fireman sam puzzle - from ebay tho so not helpful sorry!
there is a talking fireman sam toy i think?
or any fire engine stuff that isn't specifically themed, my ds1 loves anything remotely fire engine related.
in fact the 2 men earlier were pretend firemen living in the fire station!

LuckySalem · 19/09/2008 21:23

Well I'm going shopping in the morning so will see what I can find. I may go to £shop and see if I can pick up a load of cars etc.

MrsMcJnr · 19/09/2008 23:26

Lucky ? enjoy those cats!! but hope it?s not too stressful for you x

Lilyloo ? LOL at the joy of having a nap alone!

Simpson ? glad you are having a better day today your parents sound like angels a good day with my DH today thanks for asking with all you have on your plate x

Thanks Gingeme we?re having lots of family time this weekend.

Madmouse ? all sounding good on the job front and good on you for not folding the buggy. I took DS on the bus for the first time yesterday, thank god my friend was with me, and I was given about 10 seconds to make the bugaboo as small as I could

Must go to bed soon, DS woke up every hour last night and I?m shattered!! Sorry no more personals x

simpson · 20/09/2008 12:16

Hi all

What lovely weather

Have been out with DS and his scooter which has been fun

DH now started haranging me on phone about when i am going home so not really possible to talk to him ATM.

DD is going with my mum later to see him. DS is going out with my dad and brother. I am sneaking (I feel like a spy ) into my house to get necessary paperwork as DH won't let it out of the house...

Hope all ok...

LaTrucha · 20/09/2008 13:24

Simpson - gald you're enjoying the sunshine. Well done for keeping things fun with the DCs. Sounds very difficult with DH.

I'm not going to be much good with a catch-up today as I've got a cold and am feeling weary.

Sabela sleeping better. I don't know whether a) she's stopped teething
b) the fleece blanket we've put down for her is more comfy
c) she's warmer as I've put her in more clothes - many more! than the grobag label says
d) the porridge late at night is helping

but something is.

Does anyone find their DC has to be much more warmly dressed than the regulations / advice says? Sabela certainly seems very cold and wakeful when I dress her to sleep as we're told to. Wants to come into bed for lots of cuddles.

Oh, and Fraglolina - I remembered you have dropped the breast at night, haven't you?
