Morning all

SOL, it did stop raining just for a short while here, but it is wet again today

Runny, hope you feel better today with your cold.
Hope J's appt goes ok with the speech therapist today, and will be thinking of you with W's cardiology and liver appts too. I can totally understand you feeling freaked about his liver, with your family history it's inevitable I guess, and tbh I think I would be stressed without the history iykwim! (I am just not normal if I am calm about everything!) I am sure if anything sinister was even remotely possible they wouldn't be leaving his appointment for another month. Please remember I am at the end of the phone if you need to chat xxx

Ellie, the dress looked lovely, glad you had a good time

Elkie, glad D is ok. Hope you and dp sort things out between you xx

CD, hope you are ok too

Caz, lots of luck with your move

Oooggs, hope you manage some sleep today and can get rid of your cold quickly

Eddas, F loves the organix cereal bars and will eat any fruit I offer her. She also likes plain bread sticks to munch on as she potters around!
As for the school holidays, there is a local holiday club near me which is held in ds's school. He will be going there for one day next week as it is the only day I don't have anyone to look after him for me. I am lucky that my parents will have the dc's for me a lot of the time, but the holiday club is always a useful standby.

Eddas · 14/08/2008 09:12

thank gm and oooggs, for the snack details, i think i just need to give ds more stuff and see what happens!

thanks also oooggs, for the out of school info. I'm not sure what we'll do. dc's current nursery only take them up until they're 5. if I'd had time to think before putting them in somewhere then i'd have looked for one dd could've gone to in the holidays. I think we'll just have to muddle through tbh. I'll see if the school have a summer holiday club but other than that we'llhave to take holidays and ask mil.

i'd still like to know what other people do though. might give me some more ideas!

StealthPolarBear · 14/08/2008 11:54

Good.
CD what do you want to happen? Do you need more time? Alone without DCs? What needs to change?

Eddas · 14/08/2008 12:05

echo what spb just said cd, really pleased you are at least feeling physically better

CaptainDippy · 14/08/2008 12:17

I don't know, it is all very complicated. Sorry.

StealthPolarBear · 14/08/2008 12:20

Don't apologise! Just wish there was something I could do or suggest

oooggs · 14/08/2008 12:22

remember we are here dippy (or on the end of a phone) if you need to chat

Eddas · 14/08/2008 12:25

don't be sorry cd just remember we're all herre if you need us

runnyhabbit · 14/08/2008 13:29

Thank you for all your support x

MJ - may well take you up on your offer We've only told my parents, and my boss (although boss doesn't know every detail iykwim) We haven't even told pil as we don't want to worry them. But also, they will be very melodramatic about it all, which is something we can do without right now.
Well J appt went really well. The therapist was lovely, and told us that his use of language was very good for his age, but it's his pronounciation that needs improving. She was really pleased that we'd made steps to do something about it now as he's at a good age to benefit from further therapy. She is putting him forward for group sessions, where there is 4 or 5 children of similar age. And that should start in September.

btw, whats happened to Anges' laptop?

runnyhabbit · 14/08/2008 13:37

dippy, sweetheart x

I don't know if it's any consolation, but we have a big issue that will never be resolved, which is dh work hours. It has caused major heartache, arguments etc but we've resigned ourselves to the fact that unless he changed jobs (which would mean a drop in income which we can't afford) or I worked fulltime (which doesn't benefit financially because would have to pay out on nursery/afterschool clubs) its not going to happen.
Dh actually came to the conclusion himself, and bizarre as it sounds, because he's realised it (and not me telling him) everything is much brighter.

mammyjo · 14/08/2008 14:15

Runny, lovely to hear that the therapist thought J was doing fine. Those sessions should be good too.
Feel free to call me if you want to, will text you my landline number in a bit. Dh and ds are going away later this evening for a few days fishing so I will be around a bit more probably! They are going to dh's brother tonight and then off to his local lake in the morning. Not back until Sunday PM so it's a girls weekend in my house!
Will miss them both, but looking forward to no endless questions (ds) and no bloody snoring (dh)!!

Dippy, I am so pleased that you are feeling physically better, but to hear about your other worries. Feel free to vent here whenever you want to, I know I do it often enough! Or if you would rather not talk about it then that is fine too. Take care of yourself xxx

StealthPolarBear · 14/08/2008 18:48

rh glad j's appt went well, good luck for tomorrow
mj so just you and f??

CaptainDippy · 14/08/2008 19:05

P is absolutely screaming her head off - this is not like her at all. I am at a loss

mammyjo · 14/08/2008 19:20

Is she any more settled now Dippy?

CaptainDippy · 14/08/2008 19:28

Yes does worry me though - she's never does that, so a little concerned it might be illness or something Someone SLAP me!!

NorthernLurker · 14/08/2008 19:30
NorthernLurker · 14/08/2008 19:30

B has been dreadfully screechy over the last few days. not at bedtime though. I think it's just temper in our case

StealthPolarBear · 14/08/2008 19:46

poor P
t wide awake again!

mammyjo · 14/08/2008 19:58

Must be something in the water tonight! I have only just got F to sleep and she is normally in bed by 6.30pm, falling asleep quickly by herself.

CD, glad P is settled now. Could it have been temper? F has a fierce one and yells a lot!!
