Morning - you young things .

Monsoon weather here again, the garden is like a big wet sponge with rotting courgettes .

Left the kids with my parents at the weekend and disappeared off to a posh hotel with DH for our 10th wedding anniversary. It was lovely!!! Great food and had some spa treatments etc. It felt really nice being just a couple for a bit - much as we love our children we had lost a bit of "us" IYSWIM.

My parents said they'd forgotten what hard work children are at this age......

geordieminx · 19/08/2008 09:06

Oh liath - which hotel?

Dp and I looking for somewhere nice for the end of Sept?

elkiedee · 19/08/2008 10:35

All you youngsters! - people in my school year start turning 40 next month! I'm at the young end of the year as a summer baby though.

Oooggs, did you have a point when you stopped being sick? I didn't first time round - was sick when I was booked in for induction and several times in labour. And several times in the previous few weeks. At least this time I'm not going to be disappointed - kept hoping last time that I would feel better soon.

Eddas · 19/08/2008 10:55

at your dc freetime liath. sounds lovely

i'm the oldest of my friends(all from school) and they're all not 30 til next year

i wanted to collect my new pushchair today but theyw ant evening collection, boo, so it'll have to wait til friday. Yep that's right I will be pushchair collecting rather than clubbing on a friday night tis all rock n roll

CaptainDippy · 19/08/2008 10:56

Liath - ooooh sounds lovely Happy 10th Anniversary!! It's DH & I's 6th Wedding Anniversary this weekend - no chance of a break for us though

CaptainDippy · 19/08/2008 10:57

Will you be bringing your new pimp wagon buggy to the farm next week Eddas!!?

Eddas · 19/08/2008 11:26

i don't think it'll fit in the boot cd I am going to stay with my sister in Brighton on tuesday, heading to you from there, then home from the farm wed evening, so i'll just bring the maclaren

CaptainDippy · 19/08/2008 11:46

Oh well, at least I'll get to see "the car"

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/08/2008 12:10

ooh the excitement of being a mum eh, pushchairs and cars instead of clubbing and booze

No pub trip for me today, my drinking lunch partner isn't in the office, nor tomorrow

Pondering going stationery shopping instead.... the excitement is just too much!

Hi all. Quickly popping in. Busy day today.

Hope all are well, it is still bloody raining here, it's a wonder that we haven't been washed away yet
See you all soon xxx

liath · 19/08/2008 17:13

GM the hotel was near Sunderland, were you wanting that far afield?

oooggs · 19/08/2008 17:31

I'm to wrong side of 30 too sol

ange - pushchair is nothing exciting just a Jane 360 Powertrack (sold my other one (stupid)) with the lie flat car seat, which I am using as a pram top as the car seat doesn't fit in the car (too many kids!!!) in a nice pale blue & cream colour

yes I am still being sick at 16.4 weeks

elkie - with James I felt sick (was actually sick often) until he was born, with dts I was sick until 14 weeks, every day

wow liath - 10 years!!!!!!!!! congrats and glad you had a nice child free time - anything tin?

sick of rain but weather forecast for next week and week after (when we are on leave) looks much better - hope they are right for a change

parents home tomorrow - hurrah

StealthPolarBear · 19/08/2008 18:56

urgh having a horrible time, I feel ill, T being wingey and his conjuntivitis means every nursery day is a stress to find someone to cover. Need a break

geordieminx · 19/08/2008 19:40

Liath - I know exactly which "Hall" you stayed at - VERY nice, its only about 10 mins away from where I used to live!!

Sexonlegs · 19/08/2008 19:48

Evening all

Happy Anniversary Liath. I am glad you had such a good time without the dc.

Ange, we were at Longdown on Friday I love the place!

SPB, you sound peed off. What's up flower?

MJ....... rain.......??????

Erm...

Oooggs, we had a Jane Powertrack with the lie-flat car seat. It was good, but so heavy, and I remember having a nightmare trying to fit it to the chassis of the pushchair!!

Brain now emptied.

Hope you are all ok.

Dh has been out in London all day with Becky and they are still not back! Waiting for dh to pick me up some mushrooms so I can get on and cook my dinner!! Poor K was knackered tonight - she was in bed and asleep by 7 p.m. - no singing tonight!

Doobydoo · 19/08/2008 19:59

EEk spb
Happy Anniversary Liath
Hope your dh and dd had a good time SOL.
DS1 not sure if he wants to go to school now.So are going to have to have proper chat and see whats occuring.
The house is very tidy as dp cleaned everythibg that stood still long enough.Think M coming down with a cold and cough.

oooggs · 19/08/2008 20:01

I'm not planning on removing the car seat from the pushchair very often it will stay assembled in the garage as it is for school runs when I don't have dts and weekend walks when dh can push the double. (didn't fancy pushing the double with a baby in it and nothing else!!!!!!!

The car seat is heavy but I am not using it for that just as a pram top and today I pushed my old one with a friends 17mth in it was a doddle compared to the double with the dts in it!!!!!!!!!

oooggs · 19/08/2008 20:02

oh dear katy - hope you and T get better soon

lexilex · 19/08/2008 23:29

runnyhabbit · 19/08/2008 23:30

Just popping in to say hi

If anyone works out how to fit so more hours in the day so I can tidy/do laundry/have a hot cup of tea/sleep/MN, then please let me know.
Thanks very much

Eddas · 20/08/2008 07:19

rh, if anyone ever discovers the secret to that they'll be very rich

hi everyone, brain too tired to remember anything.

DD driving me mad with her 'sleeping' she doesn't settle at night and is up and about until late, then wakes at 6 then she wakes ds with her foghorn mouth. I WANT THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS TO END

On a happier note dh's step sister is being induced today. MIL is having the day off work especially, i told her IME she won't have it for 3 days Sorry not 'it', her! She's having a little girl. Fingres tightly crossed that she doesn't have to wait as long as I did after induction

oo oo oo and i'm collecting the pushchair today hope it fits in the car

runnyhabbit · 20/08/2008 09:07

Morning

Taking the boys swimming this morning with my auntie and her little girl, then we're all going out for lunch afterwards.
Can you believe the leisure centre doesn't even charge the parents for using the pool during the summer hols? Totally free. And they have a dedicated childrens pool, which only comes up to my waist. J was in his element last week He has gone from one extreme to another!

OMG - the sun has just come out had forgotten what it looked like

have a good day all
x

Doobydoo · 20/08/2008 09:49

Enjoy swimming,how fab it's free.
Hope you like pushchair.
It's raining.grrrrrrr.
Have good day all.x

CaptainDippy · 20/08/2008 10:40

Morning!

elkiedee · 20/08/2008 11:09

rh, that sounds wonderful . My council does a few Surestart funded baby/toddler swimming sessions but the pool knows nothing about them so it can be hard to find out the details, and of course they're on weekdays, and not during school holidays either.

Welcome back Lexi.

Morning everyone else.
