Let Aunty Octo help ....

Dear Dippy
Thank you for your letter regarding your bedroom relationship with your husband - its a problem many men face after having children. I would just tell him to get over it, deck yourself out in black pvc and blindfold him. Aunty Octo will leave the rest to your imagination and have fun fun fun!

Always yours, cheesy Aunty Octo

Octothechildherder · 17/08/2008 21:45

Can I just say that the charlotte church sketch lady to ladette was hilariously funny

CaptainDippy · 17/08/2008 22:01

I wish that was the problem Octo

Octothechildherder · 17/08/2008 22:06

dunce Maybe just get a new throw or paint a few walls.

CaptainDippy · 17/08/2008 22:11

Mmmmmmmm.

Night all. xx

Octothechildherder · 17/08/2008 22:15

Night Dippy - am off too.

Am sensing my advice was crappo

Will catch up soon xxx

Eddas · 18/08/2008 07:11

cd, since we're meeting next week I shall comment very little on your issue with dh, only to say that we have those issues too. maybe ot the same ones but definately issues frankly after a day wiping butts it's the last thing on my mind I am hoping once dc get a little older etc then things will improve. IMO it's natures way of ensuring you only have the number of dc you can cope with. No sex, no more pg

DH gave me some useful parenting advice this morning before he went to work. Apparently if I keep dd busy today she will be better behaved. what a revalation. Now I know where i've been going wrong if only he'd said sooner[sacarstic] my reply was 'thanks for that, because had you not said anything i'm not sure i'd have coped. I only have them pretty much everyday'

sometimes I would rather brain was engaged before his mouth opened. A bit like when he was going to travel 7 hours each way for one night in Newquay Yep that's a sensible idea. Even better, he was going to drive yep the trip home whilst still over the limit is the best idea you've ever had

I'm not feeling very charitable about stupid a@*e comments this morning Feel better to have let it out now though

Weather forecast for the week..........RAIN, what a suprise

Sexonlegs · 18/08/2008 07:28

Morning all.

Eddas, pmsl at the helpful comment from dh! Men are incredible aren't they - their brains definitely are in their trousers, cos they sure as hell aren't in their heads!

Hope you have a mega busy day with dd

Dippy, hope you are ok. I am of the same school as Eddas. Sex is the last thing on my mind when I go to bed - bed is for sleep Dh is fairly understanding, but there is only so long he can wait!! Then I give in!!

Sorry, I hope that is not insensitive. Really hope you are ok. xx

Hope everyone else is ok.

Ok here although K unsettled in the night. We didn't have to get up for her, but a fair bit of moaning and groaning was occuring.

Off to work shorlty, so need to get my bum in gear.

Have a lovely day ladies and see you later on xx

Eddas · 18/08/2008 07:32

what do you think of this pushchair? i'm still looking for one for our walks. although not sure why as it's always raining

sol, glad i'm not alone in my thinkings

Eddas · 18/08/2008 09:39

i'm struggling to get motivated today. I think the school holiday feeling has kicked in and i'm really missing my dd free hours in the morning I have 2 weeks left(and a third but that's at Butlins so i'm not counting it!) and i have a few days planned.

Must keep repeating 'not long left'

how on earth are you supposed to keep sane for 8 weeks of holidays with very rare sunny days with a 4 year old and 1 year old?

CaptainDippy · 18/08/2008 09:46

Completely understand and agree Eddas - I am going insane!!

Eddas · 18/08/2008 10:02

it's a nightmare isn't it. My friend's dd has been at school for a year now and she says she was looking forward to this years school holidays since she doesn't see her dd as much anymore. So i'm hpong by next 'summer' i'll feel the same. Doesn't help atm though.

Feeling like crying today sorry to whinge

CaptainDippy · 18/08/2008 10:20

I am sooooooo with you Eddas!

Oooooh, sun out now

Doobydoo · 18/08/2008 10:37

Dippy,I obv don't know whats occuring with you but believe me you are not alone!!!!!!!Also you are feeling crap emotionally and physically.Gklad there is some sun.,
That is fantastic advice from your dh Eddas,I wish I had thoght of thatMaybe he will become parenting Guru and be on This Morning
Hope K is ok SOL and work is alright.
OOOGGS Hope you are feeling ok.
Rain, rain etc.Though we had abit of sun this morning, came through kitchen windows at breakfast time.It was too bright and made me cross
Hi to all I have missed.Have good day ladies.

CaptainDippy · 18/08/2008 10:47

Yep, emotionally & physically I'll get there! Good to "see" you Dooby

Eddas · 18/08/2008 10:59

{{{{hugs}}}} to you too cd

dooby, pmsl at dh on this morning he thinks i'm unnecessarily sarky but how can I not be when he comes out with things like that. I need to declutter. We're gonna tackle dd's room again after lunch. I need to get her to sort things this time, not just tidy. And her wardrobe is full of clothes that are too small. She grows too quickly!

CaptainDippy · 18/08/2008 11:08

Good for you Eddas Older 2 are at nursery all day and P & I are heading to Hastings to see some random people - I am very excited about having P to myself for an afternoon - I don't know when the last time I had P on her own was - if ever!!

elkiedee · 18/08/2008 11:11

Wow at your dh's astonishing insight Eddas. Did you ask him for his further wisdom on how to keep your dd occupied?

Eddas · 18/08/2008 11:14

hope you have a great time in Hastings cd

elkie, i'll ask him later!

DH'd be really annoyed to know i've told you all his comment oh well it's made you laugh!

Doobydoo · 18/08/2008 11:21

Hi Elkie.Hope you're feeling ok?
Have a lovely time with P CD.
M keeps whacking us with his golf clubsI think he gets cross as he can't talk much yet.
He also insists on wearing ds1's sunglasses at mealtimes and has taken to strolling round with his hands clasped behind his backHe looks like a little old man, just needs atweed jacket and leather elbow patches and a pipe
Ds1 is 9 on 29th August,can't believe it!

StealthPolarBear · 18/08/2008 11:21

hi everyone
at work so a quick one
hope everyone okx

CaptainDippy · 18/08/2008 11:33

There's a "Rag n Bone" man driving down my street shouting "Any old iron!"

PillockOfTheCommunity · 18/08/2008 12:43

hello hello hello!

really busy at work and working at home to keep up (and so that I can do short hours during September while M settles in at school)

SofaBoy is staying tonight to have the boys tomorrow for me - would be so much easier if I fancied him

Taking a quick lunchbreak later on to nip to the pub - gotta make time for that!

And I have a new toy - a digital version of the dictaphone and transcription kit so I don't have to use archaic equipment anymore!

Am missing you all, hope all ok (ish) with everyone xx
