Mocat! That's early for a tooth, isn't it! How exciting! My friend's baby got her first tooth at 4 months, can you believe it?
DS (almost 6 months)is still cutting his two bottom teeth. They've come up basically at the same time, poor little bugger, but at least it'll get those two over soon I suppose. He's not too bad but a bit fretful. Got some teething gel which he likes having massaged into his gums.

Mocat Why the disapproval from people? As if it's their business when you wean! Honestly, people really do think they have a right to tell you what to do, don't they. Just ignore and do what you think is best.

YCBS is that you? Welcome back! How are things?

macaco · 22/09/2008 17:34

NSSA how old is your LO now?

luckymummy74 · 22/09/2008 18:55

I find it very strange how all these babies are rolling front to back first, which I think is what they're meant to do as both my DDs rolled from back onto front first. DD2 can do both now but def more likely to go from her back to her front.

Hmmmm, she has a cold aswell, and one very rosy cheek.....maybe some teeth on their way?!

Welcome back NSSA!!!

notsoseriousanymore · 22/09/2008 20:14

Hello guys

Macaco - DS is 4 months old now (just) (and yes, it's YCBS)

LM74 - I think DS likes to be on his back best.. He's better at 'tummy time' but still not great, so it's in his interest to roll on to his back when I put him on his front... He has no urge to be on his front, so hasn't tried to roll from his back (hope that makes sense!) He sits up half way and then changes his mind!!!!!!

Poor old DS has had a cold too - and two VERY rosy cheeks (and sorry for TMI some stinky nappies) so I think teeth aren't too far off in the NSSA household!!

Mocat - sorry, ust catching up on stuff - are you having issues with others about weaning? DS ( I think) would benefit from other food now (he's 19 weeks) but he is showing zero interest in any other food other than his bottle so I am not pushing the issue, but will let him progress at his own pace, whenever that is...

thefortbuilder · 22/09/2008 21:19

nssa hey you! can you email me please as yahoo isn't letting me search for old mails and their addresses..... any of your suggestions are ok this week

OP posts:
notsoseriousanymore · 22/09/2008 21:35

Flick - Have e-mailed you!!

thefortbuilder · 23/09/2008 09:42

thanks nssa!
we have just started weaning - sam was 6 months on saturday so we tried some baby cereal on sunday - not a success but then the stuff tastes like wallpaper paste so not really surprised ds1 didn't like it. so last night sweet potato which went down relatively well and this morning some apple and banana which he seemed to quite like, so we're on our way! DS1 likes to help feed his brother but would like to feed him much more in each mouthful....

and our washing machine is still broken! the engineer turned up at 8pm last night and stayed till 940 after replacing the heating element and then finding out the drum is dented! so we need a new drum or a new machine whichever they decide - will be quicker for a drum but the washing machine will be taken apart in our kitchen (it's in the cellar) so we may wait for a new machine. we are using the local launderette and their service wash facility at the moment and it's actually quite nice to have someone do it all for me! god i'm a lazy cow

red cheekes, smelly nappies, snotty nose here and still two lines in the bottom gum but no teeth yet - ds1 took ages to get them out so i guess it's going to be the same this time around.

ladies who have ordered from me all stock has now arrived and i'll send out to you in the next day or so - hope that's ok! And our stuff is going to be in the fashion show at the baby show which I am so excited about!!

anyway, enough wittering from me!

welcome back nssa! nice to have you back

flick poor you with the washing machine. i heard someone talking abt 'white goods rage' the other day, i know it well, you should have heard me when the fridge broke down...

what lovely weather this w-e ! we had great time on sat, went for a picnic in a really lovely park near us. i was saying to ds1 'this is what summer's supposed to be like'... ds2 loved lying on the picnic blanket waving his legs and looking at the trees. we went for rides on the mini railway and had icecream and everything, ahh, bliss.

the family cold has now finally made it round to me... ds2 and i didn't get it for ages and i was all smug, look there you go, benefits of bf etc, and then ds2 got it and now me!! that'll teach me i guess. ds2 has been up in the night which isn't like him so i guess he is feeling quite poorly with it. ds1 at nursery, dp at work, and we are still in our jamas at twenty to twelve!

he has now done a poo and gone to sleep on my lap

thefortbuilder · 23/09/2008 12:14

it turns out we are going to get a replacement washing machine but we won't get a delivery date for a couple of days and as we are off on holiday next friday morning you can pretty much guarantee they are going to want to deliver it while we are away....

not much else to report here - both boys have nasty chesty coughs but i would really like to get past september without either of them having antibiotics - jacob suffers a bit with his chest and wheezing when he has colds etc and he's really coughing up loads of stuff but i don't think it's an infection yet.... hopefully 10 days in the sun will help!

Hi youcannot beserious.
Your Dh Sounds just like mine, except mine drives a nissan micra when not on his bike.... LOL .... (he is geekchic honest), and I'm in the same boat as you with no disposable income too.

Was our wedding anniversary recently and I did a "day at the spa" for him . Cut his hair, plucked his eyebrows, waxed his overgrown hairy bits and gave him a manly facescrub, and an all over massage. He would never go to a salon, for too much of a Yorkshire man for that, but he needed all these things doing, and he admitted to really enjoying it. Needless to say he looks so handsome now so I get to enjoy it too, ...lol

LavenderTea · 23/09/2008 12:26

MN's Please Just ignore that last post I posted . ANd don't let it influence your opinion of me in anyway whatsoever.....
Im sure I posted it a month and a half ago, just took a long time to appear on the thread.... . Nappy Brain...

Is it okay to join the thread even though I seem to be a little dippy today ??

Mitchell81 · 23/09/2008 13:47

Sorry to all of you with sick babies and sick mummies. DS2 is crying gotta to go

asicsgirl · 23/09/2008 13:47

thefortbuilder · 23/09/2008 13:55

Welcome lavendertea

notsoseriousanymore · 23/09/2008 14:10

Hi Lavendertea... how old is you LO? DS or DD?

Whereabouts are you?

LavenderTea · 23/09/2008 17:58

Thanks mn's as you can tell i'm pretty new here...

flick I used the immac wax strips.....shame they were a bit old though...ooops

I had a dd in May so she is 4 months and a bit

oh and she is crying
bbl .

LavenderTea · 23/09/2008 18:05

Think she is teething..... her new thing is drooling, and staying awake for 3 hours after her 2am feed oh and extra cring too

Mocat · 23/09/2008 18:51

Hiya NSSA ! It's so lovely to hear from you again. Have you been following the page? No? Well, since you were here last, I have had a boob job and nose job and been asked to become the new face of a major cosmetic company, just the usual. Since you've been gone (feel a tune coming on)

No sign of rolling in any direction here. I have no recollection at all of when DD achieved this so I can't compare DS. Are there certain careers this lack of rolling rules out?

Mocat · 23/09/2008 18:53

Oh, and the tiny little tooth DS has grown nips a bit when he's feeding .

LavenderTea · 23/09/2008 19:08

Mocat, could it possibly rule out carpet fitting ??

Ouch- not looking forward to that..... though not enjoying her hardening gums clamping down on the nipple edge at the moment either...

thefortbuilder · 23/09/2008 19:28

mocat he might not be able to play football in italy where all that rolling around is a pre-requisite (get me with the long words!)

NSSA my company has gone multinational already and Branson trid to buy us and we said no, since you've been gone

ds2 is rolling from back to front but only when he really has to - he is much more interested in sitting up, and eating.....apple and banana again this evening and he must have eaten about 50g of the stuff - it was weeks before we could get ds1 eating that much

anyay, not much else to report here

OP posts:
asicsgirl · 23/09/2008 19:32

lol mocat

nssa i forgot to mention that dp won make me a supermodel us so i am posting this while on a plane to la where i plan to air kiss some slebs and drink mojitos then hole up in our luxury penthouse and rub noses with ds2 while dp goes out on location to shoot an underwear campaign with david beckham...

asicsgirl · 23/09/2008 19:36

oh and no rolling here either yet. lol re carpet fitting, football. guess ds2 won't be opening any sushi bars either.

flick why did you say no to branson? was it the beard?

thefortbuilder · 23/09/2008 19:43

would i be wierd if i said no it wasn't the beard

after years and years of working for companies dominated by men my inner feminist won out and i finally said noooooooooo!!! have had another couple more sales though! and have managed to get our booties and hats on the baby show fashion show each day so that's good news!
