gill - be firm with your work - easier said that done i know...could you suggest that you do the project 50% or 25% of your time (or depending how much time it will take)?

hersetta - that made me laugh...

helibee/conker - friday morning/early afternoon would suit me best - need to back home about 3pm ish as i'm getting my hair cut (and if i don't do it on friday then it will be middle of november as hair dresser is going on holiday)

dd2 still has the cold and the kind wee thing she is, she's shared it with me....

meandmyjoe · 13/10/2008 15:43

Well Joseph has been in a foul mood today, lots of scresming and tantrums but he really didn't sleep well last night. I didn't have to get up to him but we have a video monitor and I could see him rolling around and sitting up for ages last night just dozing and cat napping instead of really deep sleep until 10pm last night so he's probably shattered.

He ate some toast for breakfast though and did let me get a few spoonfulls of porridge in. He's had a decent lunch too so hopefully he will eat tea and not loose any more weight.

Hersetta, it must be a pain her not eating cheese sandwiches anymore, they are always my back up plan if I'm out and about or don't have time to cook!

lizziemun · 13/10/2008 16:51

Hersetta have you tried roll instead of a sandwich. For some reason Lexie thinks they are different to sandwiches.

GillL · 14/10/2008 11:40

Ds is progressing very well with his walking. He can now walk the length of a room - generally looking very pleased with himself

Thanks My2. tbh I don't know how much time this project will take up and I don't think my manager knows either. She'll just tell me to delegate some of my other work to my team. I guess that's what I'll have to do. I'm not going to let them run me into the ground though.

How is joe feeling today meandmyjoe?

meandmyjoe · 14/10/2008 15:10

Seems fine today thanks Gill, he slept for 13 hours straight last night and has been eating so much! I can't fill him but he is happy again and hasn't whinged all day so things are looking up at last! He even guzzled his milk this morning which he hasn't wanted since he got poorly a week ago.

He is walking around everywhere and even managed a walk round town this morning, he's just wanted carrying for the past week so he must be feeling better, can't keep up with him today!

Hope your ds is proud of his walking! Joe was ridiculously excited when he mastered it.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 14/10/2008 16:47

Hi guys, sorry I can't post as much at the moment, hope you're all ok.

My2, how are your girls doing? lol at lexie drinking water out of the washing machine!! James drinks his bathwater, which means scrubbing it before he gets in everytime.

Meandmyjoe, glad joe is feeling better, he sounded quite poorly for a while there.

Sorry I missed your birthday Lizzie, hope you had a good one in the end. It's my birthday in a few days too, not really doing anything for it, can't be bothered.

Hersetta, lol at Caitlin eating loads of olives, I can't bear them so doubt ds will have an opportunity to try them. J understand lots too, it's amazing how much they pick up. Must stop swearing!

Conker, how is Struan's excema at the moment, is he suffering as much now the pollen count is lower and it's a bit colder? Good to hear your scan was all fine, how are you feeling?

Helibee, how are you feeling lately? Any news on the pg blood test?

Gill that's good news about dh working more from home, he should be able to help out more in the mornings now so you aren't late quite so much! Get him scrubbing the cat sick!

Oh god I've probably missed loads of people out, don't take it personally I'm just really tired, just got back from a new playgroup and I got a bit lost so was walking round for ages in the rain trying to find the place and I'm shattered now. Good playgroup though. James enjoyed himself so much he didn't want to leave, and had a tantrum when I put him in his buggy to leave.

Went to the beach on sunday, James played in the sand, ate some of it got really wet and messy but thoroughly enjoyed it. pic1 pic2

A couple of pic of him eating his spag bol last night too, (his new favourite food) whilst screwing his face up like a mental. pic1 pic2

hi everyone - been away with friends for the weekend. was great - got a girly shopping afternoon on sat without children crying after the firt 20 mins, and the theatre in the evening to see Sunset Song - was brilliant.

gill boo to your dh - men are so incosiderate at times, but well done Alex on his walking. struan's sleep is getting better - getting more common for him to sleep from 7.30 to 5.30, up briefly then back to sleep till 7 so cant really complain - just not consistent yet. re birth - Stirling now has a water birth pool so if its free - i'll be in there.

meandmyjoe - great to hear that joe has beenhaving a better day - felt so sorry for him with your earlier posts.

my2 - not heard yet but am in the falkirk office this week so not around in stirling to hear the office gossip - thats always the way we find things out in my work. i seem to be quite busy though so hopefully fees going up a bit. not heard yet about an interview but not really expecting to hear for a bit - expect they will have loads of applicants.

helibee - our neighbours havent sold yet so really we havent sold either till they sell so could be in this house for quite a while- might get cosy with two little ones. Hope your doc works something out for you soon.

morning/early afternoon is fine for me - think i might be going late afternoon to watch a tv comedy being taped at the bbc - quite exciting.

james - great pics- looks like james is having a great time on the beach - couldnt open the spag ones but it might well be my rubbish computer. struan's excema is not too bad - flares up from time to time but much better than it used to be. My dad was at a GP training course in London this week and lots was about baby excema - he said he hadnt really seen a baby as bad as ds before but there were lots of pictures of other babies with similar skin so he picked up a few wee tips.

anyway - think thats me caught up - hi hersetta - sorry if i missed anyone else.

meandmyjoe · 14/10/2008 21:29

Hi all, just a quick one to let you know that Joe has eaten an enormous tea and all his bedtime milk .

He settled himself to sleep straight away, no rolling about and he looks really settled. Fingers crossed for a good night and hope the recovery continues!

Sorry if I've been all me me me lately but I was very worried, he's never really been ill before!

meandmyjoe · 14/10/2008 21:34

Awww James lovely photos, i couldn't open the spag bol ones either but he looks so sweet on the beach!

Conker very at the BBC recording, what you off to see? I never do owt fun like this!!!! I am feeling like a hermit

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 15/10/2008 00:09

The spag bol pics- pic1 pic2 -don't know what went wrong with the links earlier!

Glad Joe is doing ok, hope you both get a decent night's sleep. You too conker! goodnight! xxx

meandmyjoe · 15/10/2008 08:21

Oh my God James looks so gorgeous! He clearly LOVES spag bol!

Joe is still on the right track. He's eaten 3 breakfasts already!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 15/10/2008 10:10

That's good then. James has just scoffed a banana, a slice of nutella on toast and a cup of milk. Oh and a fistful of sudocrem while I was out of the room. I love scrubbing sudocrem out of the dry clean only faux suede sofa first thing in the morning! Second only to scooping it out of your baby's mouth/nostrils/eyelashes....

Yes he loved the spag bol, first time I've made it with real mince as opposed to quorn mince. Not sure what the silly face was about, think he's just turning into a big clown.

Feeling a bit poo today cos I'm overdue for my anaemia jab, run out of antidepressants, and I have PMT. Bleh!

Hersetta · 15/10/2008 15:22

Hi James - sorry who are feeling a bit low. Hope you get sorted out soon. The photos of janes were terrific - he looks like a real character!

Forgot to tell you all about my mystic meg moment. My SIL is pregnant and was due last Tuesday. On Monday night after Caitlin had been awake between 1-4am, I finally got to sleep only to have a dream about her having the baby. In my dream the baby who i saw really clearly was a boy, born by CS, had loads of really dark, almost black hair (they are both fair) and was a big baby (her first boy was 5lb 5oz)- who certainly looked bigger than Caitlin who was 8lb 5oz. Well she had the baby on Thursday, a boy, born by CS, 9lb 8oz who had masses of almost black hair. Spookey huh???? Now if it only worked with the lottery numbers!

They took a while to name him as they only had decided on a girls name but 4 days after his arrival they decided on Theo.

Hi Conker and the other Scottish ladies - enjoy your meetup on Saturday and enjoy the BBC recording Conker. I am still living in hope of getting tickets for SCD!.

meandmyjoe · 15/10/2008 18:50

Wow Hersetta that is impressive. Fine tune your psychic skills and you'd make a fortune!

James, hope you are doing OK. Sounds like a lot going on all at once..... and what is it with sudocrem???? Ever since Joseph learned to open the lid he grabs a fist full when ever he gets his hands on the stuff, it's so hard to clean up too and gets smeared in his hair. Sounds like James has a similar liking for it .

Hope everyone's OK. Joe has eaten like a horse today and is back to normal again .

meandmyjoe · 15/10/2008 19:01

Theo is a very cool name, 9lbs 5oz is HUGE, no wonder he was born by c- section! Congratulations to them, hope mummy and baby are well.

ToThrottleABlackBird · 15/10/2008 20:34

Hiya everyone.

Sorry I have been AWOL again.

Hope everyone and families are ok.

I told dp that I didnt want to use Alexander as a name anymore and he agreed so we have now Settled on Samuel Paul for him.

DD getting bigger by the day. She can now say Doddie (well, goggie) and knows what one is, if there is one on tv she will go an point and say goggie. Mama is all I hear when she wants something. She throws her hands in her air and says gone when something has gone and her latest word is ball. So cute. She can be a right little madam when she wants to be though and sometimes runs me ragged.

ToThrottleABlackBird · 15/10/2008 20:35

Doddie = Doggie. Sorry.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 15/10/2008 21:20

Hi Throttle, not sure we've met unless you've changed your MN name? How old are your dc? Your dd sounds very cute!

ToThrottleABlackBird · 15/10/2008 21:36

Ooops sorry, it is Knickers

How are you James?

conkertree · 16/10/2008 14:00

hi knickers - good to hear from you. how are things going?

helibee and my2 - looking forward to tomorrow - hope its ok for another august graduate to join us - purplerabbit? her older ds might be a good age to play with your dd1 my2.

leifmum · 16/10/2008 14:50

hi everyone. working in the offcie today so though i'd get a quick post in. good to hear from you james. hope you're feeling a bit brighter now. how are the kittens doing?

glad the poorly babies seem to be on the mend now. really not sure what's going on with dd. her sleeping is pretty bad for her at the moment. the past couple of mornings she's been waking up at 6 (ealry for her but not bad) but the thing is she's waking up properly screaming her head off, as though something has really frightened her. she's obviously not had enough sleep because she then spends a couple of hours being really tearful and not knownig what to do with herself until she finally gives in and goes back for a nap. then this morning that all happened at 2.30! i brough her into bed but it still took her until about 4 to settle. dh ended up in the spare room to give us more space. had to laugh because i'd obviously been dozing and woke up when i heard her roll off the bed onto the floor! she stayed asleep so i just picked her up again. needless to say though i'm not feeling that great today!

went up to yorkshire last weekend to see dh's grandad who's still in hospital. was touch and go for a couple of days but he's hanging on. took dd in to see him as well which he liked. not much else has been happening. bit fed up at work because one boss is telling me to do as much overtime for him as i can and another boss is telling me not to because there's no money for it. jsut want one answer and not be caught on the middle feeling guilty because i don't have the time to do the work.

also veering between feeling wildly broody, two rl friends now pregnant and thinking dd is so perfect i can't imagine another one!

oh well, best get back to the reports i'm doing. hope everyone is having a good day and enjoys their weekend. have fun at the meet up tomorrow and if anyone can think why dd may be waking up screaming please help!!!

conkertree · 16/10/2008 15:26

hi leifmum - i know i shouldnt but i did burst out laughing at your dd rolling out of bed - these little bundles make me laugh all the time - the fact that they can roll out of bed and just keep sleeping is so cute.

thats annoying about your bosses - but if one is saying do it, and you are getting paid for it, its really up to them to sort it out amongst themselves.

i had such a broody phase before becoming pg this time, and then after i was pg i started thinking it was too soon after ds, and i was spoiling his little time being the only one, but i also know that i'd like 3 probably, and not too huge a gap between them, and 20 month gap compared to 24 month gap is not that big a difference so think the timing is ok. guess no age gap is absolutely perfect.

My2 · 16/10/2008 20:37

hi all

we've had the plumber in all day - our shower was leaking and a great big bulge appeared in the living room ceiling - fortunately it didn't come down though.

DP was looking after the 2 of them today - think he was glad to see me when i got back from work.

conker/helibee - was just wondering how we'll know each other??? knowing me i'll walk up to the wrong people....

we went to a good soft play in edinburgh yesterday if you are ever out that way - called time twisters - dd1 ran off to play and i never saw her for about 45 min!

james - i loved those spag bols pictures hope you are feeling better soon.

leifmum - dd2 does the waking up at odd and and screaming the house down - i think dd1 did this too. i've got a couple of theories - don't laugh! 1. is that they are starting to be 'aware' of their dreams 2. want to be up and about doing stuff instead of sleeping 3. they now know how to get a quick response from us - none of this waking up and babbling contentedly to themselves/teddies any more - they've got to et someone in their room asap!

meandmyjoe - glad he's back to normal - i hate it when they can't say what it is wrong.

dd2 loves saying bye bye, she even says it to her room as when we go downstairs in the morning - waves and shout bye bye . and when the teletubbies finishes she's just delighted

and any animal she see's that has horns she thinks it's a cow and makes a mooo noise

conkertree · 16/10/2008 20:49

good that the shower got fixed my2 -bulging ceilings sounds a bit exciting.

did you get the message from helibee about meeting at 12pm inside? purplerabbit is coming too so we might head there a wee bit earlier, and will get a table etc.

We will both have maclaren buggies (although so will probably everyone there). We are both quite short - purplerabbit has dark hair, i have light brown.

would bring a conker if i had one, but i cant find any conkertrees round here - how about I take ds's toy duck with us and sit it on the table?

GillL · 17/10/2008 13:30

Hello. Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days. I've been a bit scatty this week and I left my bag at home on Wednesday. I thought I'd be alright without it so I borrowed some money from my mum for lunch and then went into reception for a temporary security pass. Then, when I sat down at my PC, I realised that I couldn't work without my glasses, so I had to drive all the way home to get them. I've been working my breaks to make up the time. I'm glad this week is almost over.

meandmyjoe - Glad joe is better now. That must be a relief. Ds is very proud of himself when he walks and is doing it all the time now, walking back and forth between the furniture.

James - good to hear from you. Sorry to hear you're a bit down at the moment. The spag bol pictures made me Dh will be working from home 2 days per week so he will definitely be able to help me get out on time. Did you manage to get all of the sudcrem out of the sofa or did you have to turn the cushion over?

Conker - glad you had a nice time away with your friends. I bet you missed Struan loads.

Hersetta - congrats on your new nephew (and your mystical powers). My cousin's wife had a baby over 2 weeks ago and they still haven't decided on a name.

Throttle - hope you're well.

leifmum - how's your dd now? Could she be teething or coming down with something? I lost count of the number of times my dd fell out of my bed when she was a baby. She still sometimes falls out of her own bed and, when we go up to check on her, she's fast asleep.

My2 - Sorry to hear about the leak. That could have been messy.

Hope you all have a nice time at soft play today.
