Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Pinkjenny · 20/08/2008 14:28

CM - I thought we were meeting up!

SOH - stop being shy. And talk to me. I'm lovely, you see. AM and LG&T will tell you, don't let the accent put you off.

ShowOfHands · 20/08/2008 14:32

Oh I don't doubt that you're lovely. It's the knowledge that I'm a dull and blithering idiot that puts me off.

charleymouse · 20/08/2008 14:36

OOh yes deffo now PJ you won't be restricted to Mondays next month will you. If M gets too arsey you can move all round the country meeting May 07 Mumsnetters.

I know, I have not been in long as G had hospital apt this morning - all clear no probs with his eyes he has now been discharged from the optomotrist optomotrest eye specialist.

I joined the SHU thing by mistake well not by mistake but can't get rid of it now. I studied in Nottingham but work at SHU. Excitingly I studied Public Administration - basically loads of social science modules. (how useful was that ).

This is where you studied isn't it SOH?

charleymouse · 20/08/2008 14:37

SOH go straight to the naughty step for being so rude about yourself. You think about what you said and when you are ready to say sorry to yourself you can come back to play with us.

Pinkjenny · 20/08/2008 14:40

Ha ha. CM - AM and I were singing your praises yesterday on the phone, I hope your ears weren't burning too much.

SOH - no one with that much insight and wisdom is a blithering idiot, IMO. But I'm biased, being founder member of your fan club and stuff.

Fab news about G's eyes CM. A weight off.

Ooh yes, a May 07 tour. I like it.

charleymouse · 20/08/2008 14:45

PJ you're so kind.

ShowOfHands · 20/08/2008 14:50

Fan club?? Membership of 1. Do you have to read this to be allowed in? I'd buy it if Natwest hadn't stolen every penny I own.

CM, I'm not partaking in your filthy dominant/submissive/naughty step stuff. I poke out my tongue at your discipline. And I do blither in rl. I'm only erudite through a laptop.

I have such fond memories of Hallam. Collegiate Crescent though, not that hideous City Campus. I used to live just off Ecclesall Road. I was extremely happy there.

MKG · 20/08/2008 15:19

Will I make it on the tour? I could be the last stop. The culminating visit.

charleymouse · 20/08/2008 15:51

Yeah MKG PJ will start off oop noorf and pick us all up enroute to finish at yours about Easter next year. Is that okay PJ, we shall be travelling in Ms car which we have bought and fitted out in stylee of Tardis to squash us all in. Then we shall board AMs 747 to fly us over. With gorgeous flight attendents offering KKs and Bakewell puddings and lashings of ginger beer. (with optional gingerbread)

SOH my new post (hopefully) will be at Collegiate and the DCs are at SHU nursery on Broomgrove Road, twill be handy methinks. DH and I drool at some of the houses round there as we drive past. Dominatrix thats me,

MKG · 20/08/2008 16:00

Great, my inlaws don't really do Easter and my mom will be in China. I will have a new baby for everyone to ooo and aaa over. I hope everyone likes ham though. I guess I would need a table for 20, a whole bunch of booster seats. I will pop out and find some KK for dessert.

charleymouse · 20/08/2008 16:09

MKG I lurve ham. . Its a date, subject to PJ and AM providing the transport.

12YG to get you started on our dirty talking session. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/7/590644

Read and discuss.

ShowOfHands · 20/08/2008 16:17

Absolutely do not read that. It's filthy.

That area of Sheffield was one of the most expensive in the country when we lived there. Used to wander round the Broomgrove Rd area and swoon. I spent hours sitting at the top of Collegiate outside the English building, watching the squirrels and reading. Aw, fond memories...

I like ham and bakewell puddings. I'll come MKG but I ain't getting on a plane and I don't have a passport. Wee problem maybe.

MKG · 20/08/2008 16:22

SOH Get yourself a passport and take a boat. Get a hold of yourself woman!

ShowOfHands · 20/08/2008 16:24

Ooh now I like boats...

AprilMeadow · 20/08/2008 16:53

I was saying to PJ last night that i felt a bit of fraud after my post because i know we can work through it.

Do you know i find really tricky now that we all have 'real' names, is that i want to start all posts off with your name rather than your MN name, i now have to proof read my posts!

SOH i would love to have a phone call with you. and it wouldnt be too bad given we have met

Better go and do some more housework otherwise i will get told off by dh....

MKG · 20/08/2008 16:54

Oh I forgot to say how much Cruz is growing up. Yesterday, our of nowhere he climbed up the stairs, over and over and over. He still can't get down as he figured out after having a good tumble down (don't worry it's carpet, and only 5 steps before the landing). He keeps climbing though. Mateo is trying to teach him to crawl down, but Cruz is proving not to be such a good student.

Also this is his second pacfier-free day. He threw it somewhere we can't find it. He only had it for sleeping, and although naptime was hard yesterday he slept all night, and went down easy for his nap today. So Yay, next week at his doctor appointment I can say, he walks, drinks from a cup, and has no binky. He's officialy no longer a baby.

Now if I can only get Mateo on that potty. He went the other day, but it's proven difficult lately.

TheGreatScootini · 20/08/2008 21:12

Well no fecker ever rings me up..I feel like im in social siberia..

Holiday was grand.(Not a holiday as such of course with the girls but if you're gonna have to look after the kids you may as well do it in the sun as in rainy old blighty I guess)M loved the swimming pool-we just put her arm bands on and off she went for an hour or so pottering around the baby pool.Resort was very plush and have eaten double my body weight in ice cream I dare not go on the Wii fit for fear that it well admonish me!

Back to work with a bump now though.Had to break up a fight between two wheelchair users today..They were ramming each other ferociously with their wheels.I beg of you.

L has now decided she doesnt want to go to bed, ever.We put her in, she screams blue murder and gets up, we put her back in, she gets up and screams. And yet she is knackered. Two hours of this tonight and counting.Last night she didnt go to sleep till 11.15, and then in our bed.I am at the end of my tether.I know my limits and after being at work all day I NEED an hour or two to myself.Any advice gratefully received..

I will try to catch up now..

TheGreatScootini · 20/08/2008 22:12

Crikey.

Sorry for all the marital troubles on here.Nothing more to add but much love to you all..
PJ What has DH said re the job thing now it has sunk in a bit.FWIW I thik you were right. Its only a few months difference anyway and why put up with some gobshite of a boss when you dont need to?

AM-How are things now?L prefers Daddy to me, so if she wakes in the night I would say 8 out of 10 times he goes. This is because its not worth me going as if DH is there she wont respond well to me (if he's not she's fine-but she's a Daddys girl and thats that-he is a soft touch is probably why, where I am strict)I guess Ive got in the habit of leaving her to him at times, but out of neccesity rather than laziness. If thats similar to you and J then I dont think DH should hold that against you..For what my half penneth is worth, which is not much probably..

Well done on the job CM.Free for meet up on Tues if you are my love.

Glad baby O is good as gold TYG.I too would be a better Mother if not for my short fuse. This is doubled however when you've a young toddler plus a baby to boot.My patience level was markedly lower with L after M was born.I dont like that about myself at all but then I am only human I guess and everyone has different levels. There is alot of counting to 10 in my house put it that way

Glad to see you Pebble

Love the shoes Tilly

Is Maddie really lovely now she is 3 Mrs JB? >>looks in wonder into the future to a time when L will be lovely

MKG · 20/08/2008 22:21

Scoot--Cooties are what boys and girls have when they are about 9 and they think the other sex is gross. "Eww boys have cooties" "I don't like girls, they have cooties".

It's an imaginary plague made up by people.

I don't really have a better explanation that that.

TheGreatScootini · 20/08/2008 22:25

Well there you go..I had assumed head lice..thats what I love about this thread, edcuation and support

I think L has cooties.Ones that stop her going to bed like a normal human being

MKG · 20/08/2008 22:48

I think it originated from headlice, but it kinda grew into it's own thing.

cravingaquietlife · 20/08/2008 22:48

Evening all.........

AM & PJ how are things?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LG&T!!!

Laptop is fixed, YAY YAY YAY, gee it was very bad but my BIL is a genius. He stripped it all down, manage to salvage my files and has now re-built the hard drive. He has added some super duper virus protection. We are very pleased as did not have the money for a new one. Have to sort out my outlook express for my e-mail as stupidly we haven't got a clue of the origional set up pass words to reset it. BIL is hopeful he can find them through searching the memory and hidden bits of files tomorow.

I can't catch up, there is so much, someone do a low down for me please.

MKG · 20/08/2008 22:50

Because I want to be thorough Cooties

AbbyLou · 20/08/2008 22:51

Scoot I saw the Killers in Nottingham just before R was born and they were awesome. It was the best gig I have ever seen. The atmosphere was electric and every single song was amazing. I am v jealous!
