LOL Foxy at the 'stuff' if its any incentive I have just ebayed DDs summer stuff from 0 months - 5 years and have made £370 plus I car booted loads of baby stuff last sunday and made £250. - People bought the soft toys, baby toys too - granted I sold them for 50p each - but better than nothing or taking them home! I have to say it has not been enjoyable, but I am glad I have done it as now we have some extra 'spends' for holiday. Also we are trying to live 'debt free' apart from mortgage so it has been worthwhile.

DS woken from 2 hour sleep and still bloody mardy!

LittleMissNorty · 03/08/2008 17:23

Hi Jammy and SG

Sorry to hear about DS SG...hope he gets over it soon x not looking forward to DD having her MMR now....side effects can last upto 3 weeks my practice nurse said.

You bath sounded scrummy Jammy

Right, off to prepare veg....exciting huh

Seansgirlthesequel · 03/08/2008 17:49

3 weeks ......... ..... oh bloody hell we go away in 13 days.....

Seansgirlthesequel · 03/08/2008 17:51

Think I might of topped myself if it lasts that long.............arrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!

Joking aside Norty it sort of makes me feel better..... cos i've been thinking its only supposed to last 48 hours!

If its any reassurance DD has had MMR and a booster and no side effects what so ever!

LittleMissNorty · 03/08/2008 18:11

sure its an "up to" SG rather than "will last 3 weeks"....hope he improves very soon.

DD has another huge bruise on her forehead.....she's gaining quite a collection ....how old are they when they look where they are walking?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 19:47

Am NOT looking forward to jamlet getting her MMR

At least she went to bed very well tonight

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 03/08/2008 19:57

Hi everyone, been off a while, not been having a RL or anything, just finding it hard to get on here for more than half an hour at a time atm!

It's hard to know what to do re the mmr. I'm def going to get ds done, dd was done at 13 months and suffered no side effects, but I think I'll leave ds for another couple of months. I had mumps when I was about 5 and I can still remember the pain of it now. I was truly awful. I also have a friend who is deaf in one ear from having had mumps, so I do think it's important.

I have just dicovered ds has chipped the end off of one of his front teeth. It is really quite a noticeable chip. I can't work out how he did it though. I am feeling a bit about it too. He is going to be stuck with a chipped tooth until he is 6 now. Oh well, I suppose it would be worse if he was a girl. He is just such a PITA atm. He is a climber, not a normal climbing on chairs type climber, but a real mountaineer! He climbs on the computer chair and onto the table and jumps up and down, he climbed onto the picnic bench (on the table part) in my parents' garden and was running around in circles up there, he shoots upstairs as soon as he has the opportunity and gets up to the top in about 30 secs (we live in an old Victorian house with really high ceilings and so have REALLY steep stairs). He is going to do himself a serious injury soon, I think I need to re-evaluate my "let them get on with it" style of parenting!

Foxy, hope dd is ok now. Poor thing, it sounds scary.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 20:09

Hope a chipped tooth is the worst injury DS gets from all that climbing Holly. I'm sure he'll be OK though. I've got cousins who climbed up everything and ran round and round all the time and they got through childhood with no major injuries, so it can be done.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 03/08/2008 20:22

Hi jammy! I'm actually quite surprised he hasn't seriously hurt himself yet. I am guessing we shall be regular vistors to casualty over the next few years! Dd was never like this at all. She didn't even attempt to climb the stairs until she was nearly 2 and could get back down again safely. Ds was 10 months when he climbed the whole staircase for the first time!

As for your previous question, ds is getting quite good at looking wear he is going now. He doesn't walk into things any more, but he still barges though anything that is lying on the floor or in his way! He has been walking for about 4 months now and is very steady. Don't worry about the bruises, ds is COVERED in them. The last one on his face was from standing on dd's chair and holding onto the back and tipping himself over!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 03/08/2008 20:23

wear where! I am seriously sleep deprived!

foxythesnowfox · 03/08/2008 20:33

I just spent the last hour and a half stuffing my stuff back in the stuff cupboard.

fuck it.

am being Mom from Hell. My poor children

This is NOT the time to be clearing out. LO is extremely needy 24/7 (and who can blame her?) I haven't slept for more than 3 hours in one go since last Thursday. I mean, the Thursday before last.

DP left yesterday.

I think I need to be recovering too.

I'm going to have a shower and go to bed.

Night all xxx

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 20:34

I think it was Norty asked about looking where they are going, but he sounds like an active little boy. jamlet is still getting the hang of standing, and needs to hold onto one of us or a handy piece of furniture still. But she is getting more confident and can walk a bit holding our fingers.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/08/2008 20:35

Poor foxy. Hope you get a bit more sleep soon. I agree this doesn't sound like the time to be clearing out. Look after yourself and your DCs instead.

Sputnik · 03/08/2008 21:34

What Jammy said, Foxy. Hope things are better for you tomorrow, You have enough on your plate, and anyway I reckon now is not a good time for ebaying with everyone on hols etc.

KWYM though about the teddies. If someone with kids gives you one of those you can bet your bottom dollar they are, ahem, recycling. We have one of those huge cylindrical pop up storage thngys full of second division animals. They do get pulled out and put in a big pile occasionally.

Nice to see you Holly and SG

FrazzledFairyFay · 04/08/2008 01:30

Foxy, I agree that now is not the time to sort the 'stuff' out. Now is the time to sleep.

When the time is right, why don't you sort the clothes into ages and ebay them in large bundles. Just do a couple of group shots and list the items. I even saw a listing recently where a seller sold her DD's whole wardrobe from age NB up to 4 or 5. It was on for collection only and went for a couple of hundred quid, I think - so if you can't be bothered doing it as lots of individual listings then bung all the girls stuff in one lot and the boys stuff in another and see what you get for it.

I had a good time at the hen night, although DS was up and crying when I got home, and DH was a bit 'broken', hence I'm still up

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/08/2008 06:37

Glad your night out went well FF. And good tips about ebaying in bundles. We've got a load of clothes to get rid of but have been putting it off. Trying to decide between ebay and NCT sales.

I haven't BF since last Saturday, I haven't expressed since Tuesday, I've officially classed myself as a non-BF woman now, and have been quite happy with that. But OMG, my body seems to have forgotten that overnight. I've woken up this morning SO engorged! If blinkin' hurts

Bought one of these for £3 in a charity shop at the weekend. Have just found out that if you press s and x in quick succesion, instead of saying s-x it goes "ooh, that tickles". Similarly for f-k

LittleMissNorty · 04/08/2008 12:31

Hello all.....very quiet on here...

Glad I'm not the only one with a child covered in bruises....she is also developing quite a temper....its quite funny sometimes...

Foxy....hope you got some sleep and are feeling better....hows DD2 doing?

foxythesnowfox · 04/08/2008 13:48

ahh, you are all very wise indeed.

I realised, once the kids had gone to bed (kind of) and I locked myself in the loo that I had been staving off a panic attack all day. So yes, I was trying too hard and doing too much.

LO was awake every hour last night - as is becoming usual. She is kicking her legs around and shrieking in pain, but only at night. It could be wind, but I'm too worried about her to put it down to that. She is obviously very uncomfortable whatever it is. As she's on antibiotics still I figure it shouldn't be her urinary tract. I'll try some powders tonight and see if that calms her. Even when she's in bed with me she's still unsettled.

Other kids aren't going to sleep until 10.30 (bad habits instilled from DPs time of being in charge). Hopefully they'll be knackered tonight as they've been off doing sport all day.

Apologies for being a bit self-obsessed at the mo!

LittleMissNorty · 04/08/2008 14:12

Ah Foxy ....poor little thing....is she allowed calpol with her Abs?

Sputnik · 04/08/2008 14:57

So would I be Foxy having to go through what you are, and on your own too. How is she in the day? Is it worth taking her back to the docs?

HellHathNoFury · 04/08/2008 15:09

Foxy
Is there anything I can do to help?

foxythesnowfox · 04/08/2008 15:38

Thanks everyone

and thanks Fury not at the moment, I don't think, but I'll let you know if there is. Unless you're free next week and want to do something.

I did suggest to my mum that that would be a good week to visit her - the kids keep asking to see them - she said she'd get back to me the next day, after umming and ahhing about it. Needless to say, I haven't heard from her.

I am going to just lighten up.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/08/2008 17:49

Aw Foxy, sorry that you're having such a hard time and that your mum doesn't seem keen to offer help. If LO isn't any better tonight then I think you should take her back to the doc - but obviously you must do what you feel is right. How long is DP away for by the way?

HellHathNoFury · 04/08/2008 19:18

Free when?

I can try and sort something out. It depends on work. I am bored shitless atm and could probably skive no problem, next week might be more difficult, will see if I can though!

Bumperlicious · 04/08/2008 19:28

Foxy, sorry you are having a tough time. Hope LO is ok. I really feel for you with all you've got on your plate. Do you need company? I could come down and stay the end of this week if you need a hand.
