Foxy, I'm sorry things are so tough at the moment. I'm free next week if diversionary tactics would work - we could meet in Eddie Katz / the park or something?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/08/2008 20:14

Foxy, sorry I can't come and help, but I'm off to my parents' on Thursday. But sounds like you're not short of offers, so hope you get some help sorted out.

foxythesnowfox · 04/08/2008 20:16

you are all so lovely

thanks for all your kind offers, give me a day or two to get myself together ....

DKMA · 04/08/2008 21:36

Hiya!

Foxy
Get yerself oop nooorth lady so I can pop over and make you cups of char etc!

I have had the most horrible day at work today with one of those heart pounding dry mouth 'am I going to cry' moments.
I replied to an email (with a load of other people copied in) and in my usual crap dyslexic way - sent out a very mixed message. One of the people copied in has (without clarifying the content with me) reported me to our legal department for breaking our industry's code of conduct! When my boss told me I nearly fainted and shit myself at the same time

I am very worried - although I know I did not break the code and it was a poor choice of words I used to try and explain something I'd done perfectly within the code - it's still horrible!

Plus I now know that the person who reported me is an utter twat (had suspected for a while) as he knows me quite well and could have picked up the phone! Turns out he's done it to a number of people over the last 12 months. I don't know how I'm going to manage to be normal with him next time I see him!

My boss was fab and very supportive though - saw a very different side to him today - he's normally very formal but when he told me about it he said he was livid with that fucking twat - and he's a total shitting backstabber .

I will have to be interviewed formally by my mate in the legal team (who has been trying to shag me for the last 12 years - may be I should have put out!!!)

Any how - enough of my drama

justbeme · 04/08/2008 22:36

Oh God DKMA - how horrible!! Hope you get it sorted but it sounds like most people are on your side!
and Foxy - sorry to hear about your woes - Hope you come out the other side soon!!

Temper tantrums here too and she's started scratching at my face in anger!! Mmm a little young for that methinks.

justbeme · 04/08/2008 22:36

Oh and how is little Sputnik?

LackaDAISYcal · 04/08/2008 22:38

have i missed everyone?

just a quick hello to catch up and then I'm off to bed. Walked four miles yesterday and am bloody knackered now.

foxy, I hope LO is on the mend; DD was very unsettled after her stint in hospital and she wasn't even there for 24 hours. Hospital told us it's very common, but call them if you are still worried about her. She might be having a bit of a reaction to the ABs maybe? Poor little lamb. take care of yourself as well missus

DKMA, sorry about your crappy day, but it sounds like your boss is being very supportive and that the legal interview is just a formality. Arse to the twat who reported it though. I'm sure some sort of revenge is in order

SG, DD had a sky high temp (over 40 and only dropped to 38 after alternating calpol and ibuprofen for a few days) and was very grumpy for about four days, starting on day 9 after the MMR. she was off her food for a day or two as well. she then had an explosive bottom after that but as I had it too, think that might have been a bit of a bug. she seems right as rain now though.

got back at 8ish tonight and got the kids in bed by 9. they both slept pretty much all the way home, but have gone down fine so must be knackered. It's been a very busy week and a bit!

we are going back up next weekend as well.......to pick up my new car . got a good deal on a low mileage 3.5yo renault scenic, plus "top book" trade in price for my civic. Am very excited as I had resigned myself to running the civic into the ground. Only problem with it is pale upholstery

Will catch up properly tomorrow; am off to my lovely bed which I have missed

Hurray!!! Hurray!! Hurray!! DS back to normal!!!! , Thanks Daisy, hope you have a good rest. DDs symptoms sound simialr to DS - it started on day 7 for him, temp for 4 days, off food, milk, and grumpy until yesterday afternoon! Phew!

Sorry to hear your bored Fury, not sure what to sugggest though.

Right, am off to 'do' whilst DM has kids!!! Whahey!!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/08/2008 12:21

that DS is back to normal SG. You must be very relieved.

Dull morning here, and likely to continue dull this afternoon as my to-do list becomes shorter meaning I have to do the jobs I've been putting off

LackaDAISYcal · 05/08/2008 14:15

yay for DS SG; it's horrible when there's nothing you can do for them except sit it out.

Have had a busy morning, loads and loads of washing (but weather pooey so can't hang it out), shopping as there was nothing in the house at all, and I have just cleaned out the fridge and degunked the drainage hole at the back . I think my nesting has begun in earnest

I need to tackle the car next. When I went to get DDs buggy out of the back before we went on holiday I found an exploding carton of milk that had been festering in there for over a week . I have scrubbed the carpet and febreeezed it to within an inch of it's life, but it still smells very very bad. Got to get rid of the pong before I take it to the garage on Saturday, so any advice on getting sour milk out of carpets gratefully received.

Ecup, we are only going to be up on Saturday at lunchtime and leaving again on Sunday morning; but were hoping for an afternoon of crab fishing in Dysart harbour (ooooh, the excitement!)

fury....how about some shopping? that always cheers me up

Afternoon all, just seen this post for nappy rash cream testers. I esp thought of you daisy! I am busy right now, but I'll pop back this evening to say hi properly.

mwah! xx

LackaDAISYcal · 05/08/2008 17:16

thanks holly

I'm not a member of that forum and they were only accepting the first 50 which has probably been filled by now.

DD is walking fully now. She started off the holiday mostly crawling, but thanks in part to the stone flagged floors she preferred to walk so is now walking everywhere...and running...and falling. she loves to hold DSs hand as well which just looks so cute, although he tends to go a little bit too fast for her at times.

Have raised a non payment dispute for my pram as still nothing from my buyer.....wanker . Could do without the hassle of having to list it again. I think I'll try on here again and put a card in the local post offices.

does anyone want to buy any Usbourne books? I need to get this bookselling malarkey off the ground. The catalogue is available online at here. If anyone wants anything can I order it for you?.....then I get the commission and make my sales target so don't have to pay them any money back

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/08/2008 19:50

Hello everyone

Daisy, I do actually want some of the Usborne activity cards. I'll facebook you.

LittleMissNorty · 05/08/2008 19:59

Evening

Found out my DD is being such a miseryguts tonight....when she was screaming, I looked in her mouth and a back tooth is cutting through - at the same time as 2 front incisors down the bottom....poor thing....

got her first pair of shoes this week now she's walking independently...she looks so grown up

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/08/2008 20:06

Evening all.

I have lots of sympathy with teething babes at the moment. I burnt my mouth quite badly on Sunday and it is still really painful.

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/08/2008 20:14

Teething here too. Ds was up from 2-4am. He woke DD up, who was awake from 3-5am. I was not a happy bunny. It ended up with DH downstairs and DD in bed with me, which generally involves me getting a kicking all night as she wriggles around all night and gradually gets closer and closer to me as the night goes on

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/08/2008 20:18

I have plenty of sympathy for sleepless Mummys too. I was awake half the night for no good reason, and am shattered now.

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/08/2008 20:32

Jammy, I hate it when that happens. It's bad enough when you are being kept awake by a lo - but it's so frustrating when you are desperate to sleep but just can't drop off.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/08/2008 20:50

evening all

I have reached the stage of pregnancy insomnia so can sympathise with the sleepless nights. DD has been drooling like a mad thing all day as well and I think it's her back teeth as she has been chewing on things for the last couple of days.

Have had lamb chops with our home grown potatoes and salad for dinner......deeelicious. I put on five pounds in the week and a bit I was away and am panicking about putting on too much, so am trying to eat much better for these last few weeks....damage limitation.

OK, you London types - anyone care to comment on this?

I've got to get from Paddington to Liv St on Thursday. Am crap at getting the push chair up and down stairs (as Bumper will testify) so dreading underground, but train tickets are valid on certain trains only and time is a bit tight to get the bus according to the web site. BUT I did a journey planner search saying I couldn't use stairs or escalators and it seems to suggest that if I leave Paddington station and cross Praed St I can access the circle line without using stairs or escalators. See here Can this be true??
