tbh fury I think anywhere willonly do 1 jab at a time unless it is part of the standard immunistaion programme
I am hoping to get mmr and pnuemococcus/hib/menc one done on same day as mmr rates are very low where we live but not sure if the practice nurse will do both as they are normally a month apart
I am then going to have mmr booster done 3 months later so ds2 is definitely covered

HellHathNoFury · 31/07/2008 14:11

oh our nurse wanted to give both the piv (?) and mmr on the same day, but we wanted separate mmr jabs and not very many places will do that.

andiem · 31/07/2008 14:14

I think you need to very careful about the clinic you go to Bumper has looked into single jabs as she has a family histroy of bowel issues she may know soemwhere or you could post on the sn boards I think a lot of people on there have opted for singles

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/07/2008 14:24

jamlet had hib/men c done as 1 jab, and in a few weeks gets mmr and pneumococcus together, but I think as 2 jabs (mmr as one, pneumococcus as the other).

I have just put some rhubarb on to stew, to make fool later, and jamlet took a piece of the raw rhubarb and is happily munching/sucking on it!

HellHathNoFury · 31/07/2008 14:24

Found one near us

FrazzledFairyFay · 31/07/2008 19:43

HELP! I'm going to a hen night on Sunday night, and have just had an email saying the theme is 'Bond Girls' and they want us all to come glammed up - Aghhhhhh. I have nothing 'glam'. WTF do I wear. None of the others have kids and almost all work in media (darlink!). I'm tempted to pull out altogether as it's just causing more and more stress - and she's really DH's friend not mine. [grump]

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/07/2008 20:26

OK, I should be working, but I was getting more and more enraged by what I was doing, and as I have no colleagues her to vent at, I took 5 mins to chill out by looking up bond girls for Fairy. You might want to read this for general info inc descriptions of what they typically wear? Or try this for inspiration? (sorry not much help really)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/07/2008 20:28

Or this - another one with someone asking for ideas.

OK, I must go back to work!

FrazzledFairyFay · 31/07/2008 20:41

Thanks Jammy, I'll check them out! It would, of course, have helped if I'd had a bit more notice. Grrrrrr

FrazzledFairyFay · 31/07/2008 20:44

Obviously, it would help if I could lose several stone before then so I was a size 6 rather than 18/20

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/07/2008 21:00

I understand that we all think of bond girls as having super figures etc, but having a figure that is larger than this image should not preclude you from looking well turned out and as glamourous as a Bond girl. Glamourous does not mean showing inches and inches of bare flesh remember! However, as someone who is most definitely on the large side, I know exactly where you are coming from.

foxythesnowfox · 31/07/2008 21:02

I suggest Wandsworth Common because:

It has a playground
It has a duck pond
It has a cafe
It has a large dog free area
It has an overland train station

Enough reasons. Oh, and its near me!

Well, its been a big fucking trauma here. Just got back from 4 days at the hospital with LO. Turned out she had a UTI and kidney infection. Rather serious in a LO.

But, we are out the other side, home with ABs and meds for the next 3 months. She's back to her oldself today, and its been a bit traumatic. DP held the fort brilliantly, but all a bit close to his departure on Saturday. So stress upon stress.

I have that 'hit by a truck' feeling you get after childbirth, so off to bed. No, off to get a very large glass of wine actually.

Bumper - Game have wii-fit. And you soon learn who to speak of parenthood too. Don't worry about it

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/07/2008 21:02

I liked the suggestion of carrying a mini water pistol (perhaps strapped to your leg) by the way. I think if teamed with a nice frock would show you'd made the effort, without putting you out too much.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/07/2008 21:06

Foxy! Wondered where you'd been. Poor DD. And poor you! Glad ahe's got through it and hope you get a few easy days now. You deserve it!!

FrazzledFairyFay · 31/07/2008 21:19

Poor foxcub, and poor you foxy. That sounds awful. I'm glad she's on the mend.

I like the water pistol idea. I have black leggings and knee boots that I bought for the last hen night I went on. I thought that might give the 'leggy' look without the bare flesh! I will just have to dredge my wardrobe for a suitably glam top. I don't hold out that much hope

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/07/2008 21:37

Leggings and long boots sounds fab! Glam (well IMO anyway) tops is something I do have, but don't think I can get one to you on time.

Am all packed ready for a fun day out with Bumper and SG tomorrow. All I have to do now is work out which card I used to pay for the train tickets so i can collect them from teh machine at the station in the morning!

FrazzledFairyFay · 31/07/2008 21:39

Thanks for the thought Jammy, that's very sweet of you. I have had a look and remembered that I bought a long silky bright top in the Long Tall Sally sale which I think will do nicely. Am feeling less stressed out by the whole thing. At least i shouldn't look too frumpy-mummy, which is what I'm dreading.

LittleMissNorty · 31/07/2008 21:41

Blimey Foxy ....you poor thing....glad she's on the mend....sounds very traumatic

So can I park around Wandworth Common? Is it on the South circular?

Sputnik · 31/07/2008 21:45

Oh Foxy, that must've been awful. Glad she is on the mend, but 3 months of meds, poor thing. Hope you have some chocolate to hand and a large drink for yourself too, it's so worrying when they're ill.

What a PITA about the bond girl thing FF.

We took Baby Sputnik to an osteopath yesterday, as he has something weird going on with his rib cage, the bottom 1 on the right sticks out a lot and the ribs above it seem pressed in. It is ages before we can see a regular orthopedic for it we thought we'd give the osteopath a try. She did a lot with his skull too as according to her there is a compression there connected to the rib thing. I'm bit about it all as it's going to take a lot of sessions aparently, but I guess their bones are still quite malleable.

Anyway, since yesterday he has been near impossible to put to sleep, don't know if it's connected. I thought cranial steopathy was mean't to help sleep problems!

FrazzledFairyFay · 31/07/2008 21:47

I meant to say that Wandsworth Common sounds fine to me.

Poor baby sputnik - that sounds v bizarre. I hope they can sort it out for him.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/07/2008 21:51

Poor baby Sputnik
I have to say that cranial osteopathy did wonders for Jamlet when we was tiny (about a week old). She had problems opening her mouth wide enough to latch on but after one session it was much better. Hope they can do similar wonders for you.

Sputnik · 31/07/2008 21:58

It is odd, a strange we didn't notice it until a few months ago, it must have been something that got worse as he grew. Shame we didn't as he is now at the fidgety age which is hardest to give that kind of treatment, apparently.

Bumperlicious · 31/07/2008 22:06

Hi all

Foxy what a nightmare, poor DD, and poor you but well done to DH, he must be very stressed.

Sputnik I think osteopathy might be one of the things that gets worse before it gets better. But I know my osteopath is always keen to do as few sessions as possible.

Jammy looking forward to meeting up tomorrow. Hope SG can make it (her DS is a bit poorly).

Fury, are you going for the singles? We would like to but just cannot afford it, not just the jabs but all the trips. We will probably go for the MMR but I have postponed the appointment for now.

Fairy, you always seem to have exciting parties to go to! I would just go for glam, probably all black with knee high boots. Or a full length cocktail dress.

NattyThomasAndEllen · 31/07/2008 22:12

hi guys.
how is everyone this evening?

NattyThomasAndEllen · 31/07/2008 22:14
