Hello people, is anyone there?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cazzybabs · 18/08/2008 15:02

Louise - while I can't speak for BT I am sure she wouldn't want you to go and cry she is far too nice for that. Don't fel like you need to go anywhere - I am sure its all forgotten.

cazzybabs · 18/08/2008 15:04

OH and I am sure you are doing just great as a mother. The whole point of children is to make you doubt yourself and you don't have to be perfect - just the best you can be because they will think you are perefect.

Is there anything you need help with?

Louise76 · 18/08/2008 15:35

Hi Cazzbabs - I've just crawled back in.

How long have you got???

I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me but I'm just so upset that I have offended someone.

cazzybabs · 18/08/2008 15:50

She is really nice and I am sure has forgotten all about it.

If you want to tell us what is bothering you either we can just listen (or see) or we can offer advice.

Louise76 · 18/08/2008 16:08

Thanks but I think I had better bow out (dis)gracefully and leave everyone to it!

Caz10 · 18/08/2008 19:29

nooooooooooo louise76 don't bow out!

i will speak for BT (sorry!) and say I don't think you offended her as such, but I would imagine like me she is just feeling wobbly at going back to work.

and i think whenever anyone says anything about any aspect of parenting that you feel wobbly about, you can get upset/defensive, I know i have felt that way about bf-ing quite often for example! so honestly, please stay, and also let us know what you are feeling wobbly about!

Caz10 · 18/08/2008 19:31

Ps i have a random question re toys/cleanliness/general hygiene!!

I am starting to think I am a bit of a slob/not PFBy enough as I basically let dd put everything she picks up in her mouth (how to stop her?!) and also at baby groups etc she stuffs all the old manky toys in there - I am of the school of thought that germs are good but sometimew wonder if I should be more careful??

cazzybabs · 18/08/2008 19:47

caz dd3 also stuffs everything in her mouth - including today manky bread found under the sofa, several bits of paper, an electrical cable (not working)). I only worry about pieces small enough to choke rather than hygiene.

macdoodle · 18/08/2008 20:03

Louise don't be silly and don't you dare go anywhere ...
We have all "known" each other long enough that these things pass - like all "friends" we sometimes disagree and then get over it...
Am really sad that some mums got upset and never came back (Awen, mememummy please come back to us)
Hope you are ok Louise??? You can talk to us....
I think this is quite a challenging age - they start to get little personalities, know what they want but can't quite communicate it to us....together with teething and weaning it is hard ...but this too will pass....sadly...my baby is growing up

Caz10 · 18/08/2008 20:07

well said you two

and thank goodness it's not just my baby eating floor fluff..

suey2 · 18/08/2008 20:30

mine too caz! And now an awful lot of sand.
Louise please don't go. We all have our personal opinions about parenting and I have got myself into trouble on more than one occasion. FWIW I think it gets a lot easier once you get back to work but I remember feeling terribly guilty and touchy about going back- I was the first ( or maybe buzzy) to go back to work so I can totally see where bt was coming from. I have had the good fortune to go back part time so it must be worse for those who have to work full time and have been off for longr

Jewelsandgems · 18/08/2008 21:27

Evening girls. To echo what everyone else has said Louise please stay - the SAHM thing is obviously a sensitive one, and at this time when lots of mums are dreading the going back to work, I did not realise what can of worms I was opening with my hypothosising over which one is best.

I am quite a newbie and did not realise some of the previous members had left. For example, I posted a thread right before having DD2 asking if I was ib labour (I was!) and Awen did answer me and was a great help (also I think she had her LO more or less straight after I did!) it is a shame some of the others have left.

I do think of you all as my friends, as I do with my 2 under 3 support thread and it is nice to be able to hang out on these threads and exchange progress/questions/theories.

Had to Ibroprofen up DD because of teething tonight and she is also carrying on with her intent of sleeping on her front. And I go in to wake her and she looks around for me, and she has he imprint of the sheets on her little face - maybe it is a phase?

cazzybabs · 18/08/2008 21:33

See I am crap - I hadn't even noticed Awen had gone...where is she? Is she still around? And where is Pecka?

fifisboys · 19/08/2008 09:17

Morning

Louise Don't go..i'm sure BT wouldn't want that either she's lovely

Cazzy Theres not many of us left now i hope the rest of us stay

I'm so sick of this rain..i can't take the ds's anywhere without getting soaked..so much for our summer but only 12 more sleeps until my holidays

cazzybabs · 19/08/2008 09:42

Well on my Oct 04 post natal group there is 5 of us who post very irregularly.

cazzybabs · 19/08/2008 09:45

Oh I mean to add Evie is now standing unaided for longer and longer period of time - she is up to a good few seconds but only if she is holding something like just now she stood holding the toothpaste.

Caz10 · 19/08/2008 19:37

wow cazzy that is fab!
although i'm guessing hard work to keep an eye on her?!

macdoodle · 19/08/2008 19:42

No walking or standing here - am guessing she is just too fat She rolls pretty well and commando crawls backwards only till she backed into a corner then gets stuck - pretty hysterical to watch

Caz10 · 19/08/2008 21:27

exactly the same here macdoodle, backwards shuffling until she meets a wall, quite funny!

fifisboys · 20/08/2008 09:09

Ethan still isnt crawling, just lots of rolling and shuffling but he doesn't actually move.
It just shows how differently they all develop, some are almost walking and some can't crawl
Am i the only one with a not very mobile lo?

buzzybee · 20/08/2008 11:31

No you're not Fifi! Bea is pretty content just to stay put. She does do a very cute wavy-hand thing tho!! One person said she looks like she's revving a motorbike, another said she'll never have to worry about RSI in her wrists!! She's JUST rolling (like this week) and as of today can roll front to back as well as back to front. I figure she's putting all her energy into growing teeth

fifisboys · 20/08/2008 12:01

2 new photo's on my profile

kelbel · 20/08/2008 12:57

hello everyone! i'm in awe at you all for keeping up with posting, although i must admit i'm kind of a facebook addict now so any spare time i get seems to be catching up there. I've relly missed this tho, so i'm going to make more effort! My laptop was broken for ages which stopped me coming on, but we're back in business now.

Its so nice reading what all your lo's are up to. Flynn has just gone 8 months, eating really well, expert roller and sitting up, no interest in crawling, but still loves walking (hold hands of course)

For those who remember he never wanted to take a bottle and i was really ready to give up bf at about 6 months, well he never did take a bottle but now happily takes a cup day (and night if wakes up)so i have completely stopped bf after 8 months and i feel very proud of myself!

he has one tooth and i reckon there's another on the way.

sounds like everyone is doing really well, i'm going o scroll through and catch up properly now!

oh also he is now in a fab routine, sleeps 7-7 (with the occasional waking), morning nap at 930 for about 1 and a half - 2 hours, afternoon nap about 3 for a good hour sometimes more.

kelbel · 20/08/2008 13:04
