Ha!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FlameThrowersKillZombies · 21/10/2008 18:37

nope, never had a contagious ear infection in my life, and I have had A LOT

EachPeachPearMum · 21/10/2008 22:18

We asked dr yesterday- she said the underlying virus is contagious, but not the ear infection.
She said you can't really do much about viruses as they are everywhere.
DD has been a monkey all day, so I don't think there's much reason to keep her home tomorrow!

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/10/2008 13:12

Well she's gone to school, after making a big fuss about taking her medicine, because it's banana flavoured and therefore yukky.
Not the number of builders I'd been expecting though, but we do now have a new front door .

How is A today EPPM?

EachPeachPearMum · 22/10/2008 13:17

Very whingey this morning, though she didn't sleep so well. She doesn't seem to be in pain though, and DH took her to nursery (though I think it was more for his own convenience than hers!)
DD hates her medicine too- amoxycilin- its vile- I remember having it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/10/2008 20:54

at dd. She took her abs, but woke up 40 mins after going to bed, and has now spat out 2 entire doses of calpol, all over her clean nightie and dh and I, so we are all horribly sticky. She managed to disturb ds who was nearly settled in the process, so now he's overtired which experience has shown is likely to result in hours of screaming. What are we supposed to do if she won't help herself?! Even offered her some boo-boo which she really wanted if she took her medicine. She is just so difficult at the mo when she chooses to be.

EachPeachPearMum · 22/10/2008 20:59

she is just adjusting to all the changes in your household, and being ill and being a toddler!
Poor thing.

DD actually had a good day, no whinging once she got to nursery, and was out like a light tonight- definitely on the mend.

Jas · 23/10/2008 07:59

CSWS. How was last night?

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/10/2008 08:32

Better than expected. Dd went back off to sleep and slept through, and ds settled well and had a good night in our arms. I even managed to nod off whilst feeding.

DD back on form rowing with dh about taking her medicine this morning though.

EachPeachPearMum · 23/10/2008 09:10

umm- mine is in the kitchen whining about which bowl her porridge is going in
She slept well though thank goodness.
Will DS not sleep at all unless in your arms? Are you getting any rest?

Phoenix · 23/10/2008 10:32

Hello to everyone

for the poorly girls. Ds would not take ab's either when he had them, he got so upset and if we managed to get any into him he was sick . Hope they get well soon.

CSWS - Ds looks so cosy snuggled into his sling

Well i've finally got my arse into gear and been to the GP about ttc Dc2. I've got pcos and had clomid to conceive ds. She's referred me back to the fertility clinic i was under before so hopefully soon i'll be joining the 'i have children' club . It will take about 4-6 weeks to hear from the clinic so that will give me time to continue losing weight, i've lost about half a stone just by cutting out sweets stuff and alcohol for 3 weeks and i've found it surprisingly easy

EachPeachPearMum · 23/10/2008 13:04

Wow Phoenix- lovely news!
I wasn't around ante-natally, so didn't realise you had had a struggle to conceive DS.
I am amazed actually how many people do struggle to conceive on mn- at least there are lots of people you can discuss things with on here, which is often a problem in rl- no-one talks about things like that openly.

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/10/2008 13:59

Great news Phoenix. Good luck.

No EPPM, he won't sleep at all unless held (except for one hour once between us on the bed). I'm still getting more sleep than I did for months when dd was little though, as I'm getting used to sleeping in slightly odd positions! Managing more than 4 hours most nights.

EachPeachPearMum · 23/10/2008 14:22

well 4 hours sounds pretty reasonable for his age, I am assuming not in one block though, which I know makes things harder.
Does he like being swaddled at all? I found I could sometimes fool DD into thinking she was still being held by tight swaddling, but also placing a softtoy against her head

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/10/2008 16:36

WE HAVE DAYLIGHT!

Absolutely everything is covered in a layer of dust (can feel it on my fingers as I touch my keyboard), but after 3 months of downstairs darkness I am just ecstatic to be able to see outside.

And yes, swaddling helps a bit. Got 25 mins of him swaddled in bouncy chair this afternoon, which is the longest yet.

Jas · 23/10/2008 20:07

Phoenix...have you seen this?
Yay! for getting treatment. My friend is currently pg with her 4th, after lots of problems conceiving. Her first three were all with clomid, and this one is a surprise!
Good luck.

Phoenix · 23/10/2008 20:25

Thanks Jas I hadn't seen it and i haven't seen her for a while.

mustdripgore · 23/10/2008 21:17

Hurray for daylight; and for not all turning into undead whilst living in the darkness

Last min halloween name here, as ds1 had his school party, so it kind of got me in the mood, or at least less unbothered about it!

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/10/2008 21:40

Much better name than last year mrm.

mustdripgore · 24/10/2008 08:11

So I must be getting better at being spontaneous and doing stuff last minute?!

Ds1 has sponsored walk today, but its pissing down. So plans to take ds2 to the park are also scuppered!
He's also chuffed cos he won the leaf for class this week (goes on a big tree in the hall). He got it for being so kind and helpful to his classmates (has taken a new boy under his wing, who has autism)

EachPeachPearMum · 24/10/2008 15:24

Yay for DS1!
And for daylight!

DD is slowly recovering- fine in the day, but very tired and disturbed sleep at night still.
DH and I look like the living dead...

EachPeachPearMum · 24/10/2008 21:40

wow Flame- hair is V different!

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/10/2008 08:14

Had to check your profile to see what EPPM was on about. Very different indeed, but me likes!

mustdripgore · 25/10/2008 12:02

omg, you look so grown up! Its lovely

EachPeachPearMum · 25/10/2008 21:54

Finally made chocolate cake! om nom nom

DD kept asking when she could put her fingers in it! (the mixture)

Had almost no sleep last night- she kept wailing then DS was kicking me in strange places. Am off to bed I think.

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/10/2008 22:01

Just a bit bigger please. Yum yum.
