Well, we had a 'fun' day baking
DD and I sieved the flour, and cocoa to make a chocolate cake... I turned round to get the baking powder, and she knocked the whole thing all over the floor- smashing my pyrex bowl , and creating a brown and white explosion relief on the kitchen floor!
I was so shocked- the noise was incredible, but thankfully she was unhurt.
She is cutting a molar atm, and has spent the entire weekend whinging poor thing. Thankfully she went to bed a little early, and went straight to sleep- she didn't even want mango and ice cream after her roast chicken dinner!

Jas · 20/10/2008 07:23

Ooops.

We did cornflour and water playing. Thankfully I set it up in the garden....the mess was incredible!

(EPPM, I am veggie, btw, but the children aren't, just in case it becomes relevant. I can't really confirm anything until Thursday (when dps cheque clears. I have an irrational fear that it will bounce and we won't go anywhere....)

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2008 12:06

I may be free the weekend at the end of half term, if anyone decides they are free to meet up and snuggle my lovely ds!

Feeding and trying to keep dd occupied keeping me v busy at the moment. Ds still won't let us put him down to sleep, so am living life mostly one armed at present! Dh back to work today, but working from home this week, so is at least around first thing and for bedtime.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2008 12:07

Oh, and I was most disappointed at the lost opportunity to eat chocolate cake, rather than the bowl or the mess!

EachPeachPearMum · 20/10/2008 20:04

So was DD CSWS- we didn't have enough cocoa (or mummy energy) to start all over again

Is your DD enjoying her dolls house?

Jas- I was veggie for 15 yrs, so if it is relevant, it won't be a problem... I just had an inkling you were, dunno why!

My DD actually has an ear infection so it wasn't just teething after all. She was sent home from nursery at 2pm, with a temperature, saying both ears were hurting, but drs couldn't fit her in until tomorrow. I was home (ill) so I comforted her as DH has a major deadline on, and tbh she wanted mama anyway. She was so beside herself though... the only thing she wanted was a bubble bath and go to bed (at 3pm!)
I ran the bath, but then she had utter hysterics so I tucked her up and re-rang the drs to get her in tonight, which thankfully they did.

It was horrible watching her go to sleep- I could see her physically shutting down, and the light going off in her eyes

She's had abs tonight, and finally had her bubble bath in much better spirits after a 2 hour nap, and gone to bed. Out like a light again though.

FlameThrowersKillZombies · 20/10/2008 20:37

Aww ear infections suck

Very of your dinner plans. I had a similar pile on my floor the other day - mine was mug and hot chocolate powder.

MRM - do you know about MIL yet?!?!

Frizbe · 20/10/2008 20:48

Hi girls am on Meridians laptop babysitting!

{{{{Hugs}}}} re poorly dd EPPM its so not nice and sorry about the chocolate cake too. Hope the ab's fix your dd very soon.

CSWS have looked at your photos finally, ds is gorgeous and your sling looks lovely

So what has everyone been upto then? I'm enjoying the chance to catch up with you all, life has been so mad here and its only 3 days now till half term (inset day friday)

Work is bonkers for us, which is good, although our new member of staff is starting to make a difference as he gets upto speed, I'm taking the opportunity to use my birthdya prezzie tomorrow (should have used it last week, but dd1 was ill) so I'm off for a pampering morning hurrah!
Took the kids to Chatsworth on Sunday, was lovely, trees were fab colours, we had hotdogs (in the thermos flask) for lunch and hotchocolate from the cafe, lovely. Kids played on the farm park adventure playground bit, whilst Meridian and I nattered away.

Frizbe · 20/10/2008 20:48

ooooh off to name change if its that time of year then!

Frizombie · 20/10/2008 20:50

boo

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2008 20:54

for ear infection.

for my dd too. She's come down with terrible cough which has had her coughing and sobbing in her bed for the last 2 hours. And she was put to bed with no bath (her choice, but made stroppily) and no boo-boo too, because she was playing up. Have just given her a little feed, and she had medised ages ago too, but nothing is working.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2008 20:56

Hello Friz. Glad the business is going well. Enjoy your pampering.

Frizombie · 20/10/2008 20:59

hello CSWS, sorry to hear dd is poorly.....I hope your night gets better and not worse....how is ds sleeping/feeding, is he an every 3 hour boy?

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2008 21:11

lol. More like every 1.5-2hrs during the day, constantly during the evening (unless napping) and every 1.5hrs at night! He's gaining weight nicely though - up to 8lbs 9oz today (8lbs 4oz at birth, and 8lbs 3oz on Wedns). Won't sleep without being held, but in a sling or held he's pretty good.

EachPeachPearMum · 20/10/2008 21:15

CSWS oh that sounds horrible, poor thing. Coughs are worse, because even once they're asleep, they get woken up when they don't want to, bless them.

Friz- sounds like a great weekend... am impressed by hotdog method! Think I may try that Glad to hear business is going well- will probably be hectic for next couple of months so make the most of tomorrow am!

Frizombie · 20/10/2008 21:22

EPPM that's what I was thinking! the hotdog in a flask thing is lovely I have to say just remember to take the cup to shake them out into as even if you put them in with no moisture, they generate their own

CSWS ah, ok then glad he's feeding well and putting on weight. He's the same weight as dd2 was when born now then (ouch!)
Meridians on her way back, so I might not be speaking much longer.....may have to catch you all in another week or so......(gotta get our old laptop fixed)

EachPeachPearMum · 20/10/2008 21:28

Oh CSWS- is that the slings they have in JL?
I keep seeing people with them- are they very comfy (for you I mean!)???
We just had a tomy baby carrier last time, which DD loved (and tbh spent a LOT of time in thanks to colic) but was not particuarly supportive for my poor back, so am thinking of trying something else this time.

mustrunmore · 21/10/2008 08:27

Falme, Mil comin sAt to Tues, I've got a job on then too, so can get out for a while Dh back to work Wed., and I'm away the last weekend. So kinda free Wed to Fri but with both kids.

Hello all

Dh gotta go to Harley Street today cos of workin in the dungeon; Weills disiease ther. eek.
Is it tooth today Flame?

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2008 09:34

It's the close baby carrier EPPM. Don't think JL sell them. Takes a little bit of getting used to putting it on, but seems comfy so far. I wore it for about 6 hrs the other day and my back didn't feel it at all. We had a baby bjorn active last time (waiting for friend to return), which was also quite good on back, although offers less position options for baby.

mrm - what job?

EachPeachPearMum · 21/10/2008 10:28

Our JL does! I saw a staff member demonstrating on sunday but it may just be a trial. I have seen lots around being used too- including one with a girl in who looked a teeny bit older than our DDs! (it was her Daddy carrying though, and he looked big and strong) she was having a lovely snooze!

mrm- I am assuming from that that he has to make someone for the dungeon who is suffereing from Weil's???? rather than he has caught it at work and needs treatment??? though on re-reading, sounds like latter

Well- we had a fun night- DD's eardrum burst!
She is MUCH happier this morning, though slightly deaf - the dr warned us it looked likely to go, poor little thing. She had to be bribed with a jellybaby to take her abs this morning DH wasn't impressed with me, but I had to scoot to work!
She was back to her usual crazy self before I left, thank goodness.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2008 10:36

for burst eardrum. Does that cause any perm damage?

EachPeachPearMum · 21/10/2008 12:23

It should heal over in 2 to 3 weeks dr said, but DH thinks it will be scarred. Haven't read up on it yet. Dr warned not to get ear wet or anything, so DD will be thrilled as she hates washing her hair!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2008 16:07

dd has just pissed on the floor/in her clothes for about the 10th time since ds born.

FlameThrowersKillZombies · 21/10/2008 17:44

She must feel a hell of a lot better now it has burst - it relieves all the pressure and I remember that feeling of a sigh of relief afterwards. Don't let her go on swings for a good few months - it hurts as the wind whistles past.

Aww for acting out DD CSWS

I'm busy that end of half term now MRM

I need hugs

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2008 18:23

5:30pm dd announces that her ear hurts, and that it was hurting last night too (this morning she said 'I'm not poorly any more ). I phone doc who doesn't have any appts (surgery closes at 6pm), but dd's screaming and crying in the background convinced receptionist to talk to doc, who agreed to see her if we got there straight away.
She now has antibiotics for an ear infection too, and a very high temp, which the gp was apparently more concerned about.
Dh took her and he forgot to ask if contagious. Anyone know, as school won't take her tomorrow if it is (which will be utter nightmare as have lots of builders coming tomorrow)?

Jas · 21/10/2008 18:34

Sympathy for girls with ear infections

And everyone else who needs it.
