Going to be a bit mad round here today. As well as the normal builders, we have roof tilers, electricians, plasterers (according to dh - I thought they were coming tomorrow), a different builder who is going to quote for replacing front door, and a man from John Lewis measuring up for bedroom flooring!

Reckon I can just hide in the bedroom and finish my book ?

Jas · 17/09/2008 08:22

Is there any chance of all this work being done before ds is born?

Does he have a name yet? Or are you going to surprise us?

Stitches out today mrm? I hope it feels better once they are out.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/09/2008 09:54

Decorating/flooring/furniture making won't be done, and we'll still be waiting on windows and doors, but hopefully the rest of the internal works will be out of the way before he arrives (as long as he's not early!).
There will still be all the driveway reshaping/resurfacing, front fencing and gates and moving of oil tank to do afterwards, which will prob take us close to Christmas.

He does indeed have a name, which we daren't change now as dd knows it! He is Duncan Elliot .

Jas · 17/09/2008 10:05

I knew you wouldn't be so irrisponsible as to have a nameless baby

I still occasionally get grief from people for Boy!

mustrunmore · 17/09/2008 17:07

Remind me of the reasons? I assume there must be more to it than 'we like the names'?

So, stitches out, big hole there seeping, nurse saying 'oh, he didnt do a very good stitching up job did he?'

Jas · 17/09/2008 17:30

No wonder it has been hurting so much.

I still think you should be resting properly though.

mustrunmore · 17/09/2008 19:29

might have to rest tonight cos every single muscle in body aches from pole!!! Its superb!

Jas · 17/09/2008 19:31
Grin
CantSleepWontSleep · 17/09/2008 19:41

Not really much more to it than 'we like the names' plus it's a traditional name that isn't used often these days, much like Philippa, so they fit well together. And it will amuse me to call him Des for short .

Found out tonight that we saved our village post office - hurrah!

for stitches.

Parents visiting tomorrow - can't decide what to do. Day out would be nice (and poss necessary owing to little available house and builders), but not sure I can face more than an hour or two schlepping about at the moment.

damewashalot · 17/09/2008 21:11

Hello not read anything for ages but thought was about time popped in again.

How are you all, what have I missed?

Well, I'm 3 weeks into AD's for PND and seem to be crying less which is good, been having fairly rough time, went to dr when I started having panic attacks and realised my boys really needed me to sort myself out.

But not all doom and gloom as it looks like ds's heart thing is nothing to worry about

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/09/2008 21:17

Yay re heart.
Glad to hear that the AD's are helping. Did you have them last time too - can't remember?
How is his feeding/weight gain now - still going well?

damewashalot · 17/09/2008 21:21

No this is the first time I've had this, think the pg was stressfull and everything since has been and it's just been too much for me.

Weight is going on but still v slow, got to ds3's birth weight last week! but he is doing everything else he should be so might just be a little one. Back to hospital on friday so will see what he says then.

DH is away this week so I'm off for an early night.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/09/2008 21:23

Sleep well .

EachPeachPearMum · 17/09/2008 21:33

for stitches mrm... but that wouldn't have anything to do with 10k walk would it?
Sounds very painful still though. Have there been any results back from the biopsy?

Have been coughing all day today, and feeling lousy. Off to bed soon, am just so tired. Sexing scan in the morning- yay!

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/09/2008 21:34

My cold masses better today - v odd.

V exciting re scan tomorrow. Make sure you get on here and tell us what it says!

EachPeachPearMum · 17/09/2008 21:49

Sorry- x-posted Dame.
Glad to hear the heart thing isn't a problem, but sorry to hear about pnd- you have so much to deal with though, especially with the worries of DS3's health.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/09/2008 08:02

Picadilly Circus here again today. We have 3 of the regular builders, 2 plasterers, 2 electricians, an air conditioning man and my parents all coming. Half of them here already.

Dd is already mithering about when nanny will arrive. Going to be a long 2 hours!

mustrunmore · 18/09/2008 08:06

Lol csws, which bit of the building work are your parents going to be doing?

Hello Dame

Er, no, has nothing to do with a 10km walk, as it was a 5km jog , and also she could tell how it was stitched up; the siting of the stitiches woudnt have moved for any reason. It looks alot better today, after me being a total baby about immersing it in water last night! Just tender. Er, up to 8weeks for results

EachPeachPearMum · 18/09/2008 11:25

8 weeks! Thats ridiculous!

We're having a boy- am just
I really thought it would be another girl, don't know why though.

damewashalot · 18/09/2008 12:13
