oh lexi

liath - If it was twins I would have said something untypable and asked if I could parcel force one to Katy

ds1 and I have been on a charity walk - I'm knackered and dh is just putting him to bed

I'm shattered so off to my pit very soon

oooggs · 18/07/2008 20:44

oh and thank you very much for all the congrats

Evening Ladies

Luce - Those sauces sound lovely!

SOL - Glad K is brighter. I wouldn't mind meeting up with you and Lexi if we can find a time to suit!? Your poor DH, he's working so hard atm. Hope he gets a break soon.

Lexi - Hope you're ok. I agree with SOL, sounds like you deserve better. Thinking of you.

Liath - Good to 'see' you. Hope you sort something re childminders.

Quiet today!

Just to clarify, not planning on a number 3 yet. As I said to DH last night I can't say for definite atm whether I do or don't want another baby. DH has always been an outright no but last night he was open to a deal/persuasion

Hope everyone ok.

xx

hensden · 19/07/2008 13:55

Hi all Hensden here, have wanted to post for quite a while but not really had much to say but after reading your news Elkie I just thought i'd give you my story so far, I had the combined nucal test and the bloods came back fine but the nuchal measurement was increased 3.1 if I remember correctly, a lot more than 1.9 if that was yours. Anyway this gave me a risk of 1 in 34 of a chromosone abnormality. I was on my own at the scan and in shock. Was sent straight to my local hospital to see the screening midwife who discussed options CVS etc I decided I just had to know as soon as possible what I was facing so got her to arrange a CVS at Guys & St T's. Had the scan on a Monday and they booked the CVS for Wednesday (I was 12wks on the Thurs) Went for the CVS, on my own again so scared stiff, but everyone was so nice and the consultant who performed the test mentioned he had been doing them for 25yrs I think (a long time anyway). It was very quick, painless and you could see on the screen that the needle was nowhere near the baby. The consultant said at the time it had gone so well that he could not see that I would have any complications (risk of MC) connected to the test. I took it very easy for the next week although they said a couple of days would do but I took the chance to get lots of rest and let DH run the house/kids for a while On the Thursday eve got a phone call of the initial all clear and then had to wait 2 weeks for the full report and results of rare abnormalities but it all came back fine
I have now been for 3 extra cardiac scans and a very detailed anomoly scan at kings and as far as they can say all is as it should be (i'm still worrying though) so now everything should progress as "normal" It was an awful time and I spent a lot of time crying and very down DH didn't understand at all but I'm feeling a lot better now sickness wise that helps and feeling the little fella wriggle is great so I'm trying to look forward to the end of October when all will be reveiled.
Cor what an epic I hope it helps I'm older than you and had my DS (april 07) when I was only a little younger than you are now and my nuchal results then came back as 1 in 3300 so age didn't come into it then so was very shocked this time.
Anyway hello to everyone else, congrats to oooogs you brave lady.
Will keep an eye on you all when I can and even post if I get a minute
Take care all
Hensden

CaptainDippy · 19/07/2008 13:59

elkiedee · 19/07/2008 18:15

Thanks Hensden for your story. I think that on Monday I'm going to ring the hospital as I won't be home until Tuesday evening, and find out what the situation is - I was already told that most of the risk is age related. I guess after coming back as "low risk" first time at 37 (don't even know the figures) it was more of a shock.

CD, enjoy the Hen do.

mammyjo · 19/07/2008 18:41

CD, have a fab evening. You deserve it

Hensden, lovely to see you on here again. Glad you are doing well xxx

Oooggs, hoping the party goes well this evening. Enjoy spreading your lovely news

I am stressed. Too many things going around in my head just now. Me and dh really need to talk, and being a typical male, he doesn't want to. Anyway, take care all xxx

Went to the hairdressers and then we went for a lovely bike ride this afternoon and then came home and had a last minute BBQ. Girls now in bed and I am enjoying a cup of tea and few packetsof-- biscuits!

StealthPolarBear · 19/07/2008 20:55

Hi everyone
lexi, sounds as though he is trying to avoid the inevitable discussion. Sorry I don't have advice but feel awful for you.
We've been at PILs today, T started getting a really high temp (it was 39.4 when I took it and we think it had come down a bit by then) a bit of a rash and just not happy. We brought him home and calpoled him which has worked its magic, he is back to normal and temp has come right down. He's had a bit of a suspect nappy (sorry to all for TMI apart from SOL as she loves this stuff ) Is this likely to be: reaction to MMR (10 days ago); teething; viral thing; other?
He seems fine now, bit more calpol, in with us tonight, hopefully he will be back to normal tomorrow.
How's K sol?

lexilex · 19/07/2008 20:56

ange, oh my god, who weird, where did you work with him? was it at o? x
