The thread title is for the January babies who have become/are soon to be big brothers and sisters

Can't remember all from last thread except
Wilie congrats on the move and hope visit to vino goes broodily well
eandh - potty?!! Aleady?!! I'm only just getting there with ds1!!
DH - I went to a wedding on due date with ds1, but that was because I wanted him out. Alas, despite energetic ceilidhing, to no avail! Also went to Halifax for a wedding when about 38 weeks with ds2 (on Loosh's ds's bday in fact!), was a little nervous in case I went into labour so far from home, but didn't exactly expect to go early (just as well, eh?). But I guess is different if you're going for a c/s

DH - I think Daniel is a nice safe name (IYSWIM) and sounds fine with your surname. I wouldn't rave about it but it sounds OK. Don't talk to me about illiteration with names - I guess you know mine from my emails! Not good - I sound like a porn star!!!

Mind you, I love the name Leo for a little boy but not certain about how it sounds with my surname.

Dragonhart · 11/07/2008 22:06

I have to say I am not really into out there names anyway. Would rather my kids are not labelled by a name iyswim. If they have what some people would call 'plain' names then they will be known for who they are not what I called them. Did I tell you about the girl I met recently who was called Coco? It was more the double d I was worried about. Interesting what you said about having the double L. I quite liked Dominic but think it sounds like a private investigator with our surname

Leo is a nice name but I have noticed that there are alot about atm. 3 people I know who just had babies in the last 4 months (who dont know each other) have called their boys Leo!

Dragonhart · 11/07/2008 22:10

2happy- I ment to say before that in our house The Rule of Sibs is; if you take it off Luke, you get battered! Poor Ruth!

eandh · 12/07/2008 07:04

its 7am we are up, dressed, fed, beds made, DH gone to golf (they are awake because of him!) and now squabbling over the dolls cot (the one that Ellie has had for years and never played with but because Hattie is playing with it, its now Ellies fav toy and arrrgghhhh!!!!)

DH - I think you have to go with names YOU like and sod what everyone else thinks. Seth is also high up on my list of names and my mum and sis think it is an 'old man's' name. I think Daniel is fine with your surname

Wilkiepedia · 12/07/2008 13:02

I am working today and have the beginnings of a bloody headache AGAIN....FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reggiee · 12/07/2008 18:26

Hope today hasn't been too bad Wilkie and your headache hasn't progressed. At least the weather has improved today.

LTH I bow down to your genius ds. I too am proud - lo swapped her evening bottle of milk for a spouty cup of milk last night with no fuss at all (yeah alright - 'officially' 6 months later but what the hell).

Dragon really like Daniel, and think it goes well with your surname. Wilkie I think your name really fits btw and not at all porn starrish.

UD - lo's tantrums get worse by the day. This was the worse so far. Ok, I know what triggered todays - she was tired, but I had given fair warnings of leaving the park. There are only 2 kiddy swings and a queue was building up, so I took her out. Cue sprawled out on floor ear splitting shrieks and screams....had to pick her up and hold her tightly. After about 5 mins had managed to at least manaoevre out of the park (through the throngs of parents looking sympathetically / grandparents thinking what a shit mother I am), then got her in the pushchair but had to kneel on the floor for a further 10 mins whilst she wailed and wouldn't let go of me. I starting singing 'If you're happy and you know it...' (oh, the irony) and she immediately shut up. Wtf? From all out wails to silence. Grr...Then she fell asleep and has been sweetness and light all afternoon. Ahh, feel better for letting that out.

Eah did you get all the gardening done today?

Well, dh has been out since 9am playing in a football tournament. Hope he brings very large bar of chocolate back with him for me.

eandh · 12/07/2008 19:34

Not alot rgee thought FIL was dropping dh home on way back from golf but they picked Mil up and decided to come and see us (thats the 11th time in 8years they've come to our house, and twice in last 6 weeks ) then popped to TEsco child free so apart from dh taking tree out and I weeded one side of garden theres still loads to do.

at P's tantrums to silent sleeping!!

theSuburbanDryad · 13/07/2008 10:03

Wilkie - i really like Seth but dh says it's chavvy!

We are v stuck on boy's names atm. Well, v stuck on girl's names too - but i know what i want. Pity dh doesn't like it!! Grr...

laughalot · 13/07/2008 12:24

LTH - we've got another thread going now you have insulted everyone

Wilkiepedia · 13/07/2008 19:17
eandh · 13/07/2008 19:20

I am hungry, the girls are in bed, dh snoring on sofa so I could sneakily order soemthing to be delivered but I wont eat it all and then its a waste and cant be bothered to get of my arse and cook something

Wilkie - glad head was ok

Reggiee · 13/07/2008 20:54

Eah am eating a cheese toastie now. But did cook a roast dinner this afternoon. Well done on car boot sale btw.

Glad headache didn't develop Wilkie. How's the new house?

LTH I'm not too keen on Seth either . Think it's because my grandfather's dog was called Seth - it was a German Shepherd an he had it when I was really young - don't remember but mum says I was soooo scared of him.

Lal you had a party today then?

Lizzzombie · 14/07/2008 08:30

Seth like Seth Green off the OC? He's lurvely! (I am so down with the young people!)

Have had a mental weekend with DP's relations, they are popping round in an hour before they go home and I am still in my pj's scabbing around.

We went to a mega carboot sale yeaterday (in Polegate in case you are interested). I brought tons and tons of books for DJ. And for £2 an ELC till with toy money (which has been hidden) which is a big hit.
And I got him some mini fake croc shoes too, which are so cute and just right for paddling.
He actually managed to enjoy him self at the beach yesterday and not scream manically at the waters edge!

Catch you laters x

ps - lemon drizzle cake was gorgeous (but I left the top off the food mixer when I was making it - you can imagine what happend - what a divet!)

eandh · 14/07/2008 09:03

sorry Lizz but at food processor moment!

I am officially a boot fair addict they are fab arent they (grrr at your ELC till my mum anddad paid £15 or £20 for a new one for E last Christmas) Ellie got 2 bratz doll sin boxes yesterday (£9.99 in shop) £1.50 each!!!! I didnt look around as didnt want to spend my profits

Wilkiepedia · 14/07/2008 09:18

LIZZ - STEP AWAY FROM THE MINI CROCS AND NO ONE NEEDS TO GET HURT. Poor DJ imagine subjecting your poor little darling to those FASHION DISASTERS.

I don't like car boot sales - every one I go to has been full of pikey chavvy people wearing jeans that are too tight, too stonewashed and too bleached with nasty Kappa trainers and a Bench hoodie with big gold creoles in their ears. Maybe that was just Lincolnshire, non?

Reggiee - new house is great thanks. You are welcome any time you fancy a trip over. Roast dinner sounds nom nom

EAH - are you still doing WW? I am back on core. Have put half a stone on since working in the shop - I blame the fridge full of chocolate. Am determined to lose it in 6 weeks!!

theSuburbanDryad · 14/07/2008 09:32

Awww - kids in crocs are cute!

Although, there's a little girl at Z's nursery who has just started walking and her parents have bought her crocs has her first shoes.

eandh · 14/07/2008 09:42

Both of mine have crocs but they are mainly for when we go to the beach at my Nans and also Hattie doesnt like the paddling pool unless she has her crocs/jelly shoes on

I gave up WW but really need to get back on it as I was doing really well, I may start tomorrow mmmmm wish we had chocolate in my workplace

Dragonhart · 14/07/2008 11:09

Had a busy weekend. Went to the Charlie and Lola exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery and was really impressed. It had loads to do an dI though Ruth would be too young but she loved it too. She kept running around saying 'wow' and 'ook-ah-at' (which is look at that incase you were wondering!).

Luke loved it too and only had two nearly fights with other children which is quite good for him! He also got to try on Lolas crocodile outfit which looked ace but he wouldnt stay still long enough for me to tak ea pic. Just kept running around battering other children with the head which kept flopping down. Very funny though.

Then on Sunday we took the shed down (it nearly blew down afew weeks ago but was suprisingly hard to get down when we tried) and trimmed a load of bushes in the front garden. That doesnt sound much but took all day!

Laughalot- Happy belated birthday to A. Hope you all had a nice day.

EAH- Keep meaning to do a carboot sale but never get round to it. I have a load of stuff in the garage but never seem to have a free sunday to do it!

Wilkie- I know you are right but as I dont talk to anyone about in RL nice to get opinions about things like the double d or spellings of names. I like Seth. When DH's cousin called her little girl Ruby 8 years ago, it seemed really old ladyish but now it is quite popular.

Lizz- Hope it didnt make too much mess. I droped a pasta sauce I had made with sardines in it on the flour on sat as the pot it was in was bendy and it went everywhere. Still keep finding bits I missed even though it took me half an hour to clean up. Nice.
