The thread title is for the January babies who have become/are soon to be big brothers and sisters

Can't remember all from last thread except
Wilie congrats on the move and hope visit to vino goes broodily well
eandh - potty?!! Aleady?!! I'm only just getting there with ds1!!
DH - I went to a wedding on due date with ds1, but that was because I wanted him out. Alas, despite energetic ceilidhing, to no avail! Also went to Halifax for a wedding when about 38 weeks with ds2 (on Loosh's ds's bday in fact!), was a little nervous in case I went into labour so far from home, but didn't exactly expect to go early (just as well, eh?). But I guess is different if you're going for a c/s

Thanks for the tips. Urban, I already have to go up the stairs sideways or my pelvis feels like it might split in two so that's one down!

EAH- Luke was 8lbs 7.

Played in the garden all afternoon with Luke and Ruth. He got a playhouse with a small slide and a rocking sea-saw (god, I have no idea how to spell that! Will put it down to baby brain!) Slide too small for him but Ruth loves it. They spent their time running round the climbing frame and playhouse chasing each other. Really cute to see them playing with one another rather than Luke just beating Ruth up all the time!

Oh and can I come to the next 'up north' meet up?! Hope you have fun! Think of me being out run by Ruth as she heads for the kitchen or the stairs when Luke leaves the gate open, waddling with massive swollen ankles!

Dragonhart · 01/08/2008 19:14

Forgot to say yesterday Wilkie, my nan told me that when he was little, my uncle drank detol from egg cups he had filled up when my nan was gone for 2 mins. She said his nappies smelt of detol for a week! Glad he is ok today.

vinorouge · 01/08/2008 19:56

DH - is it you who lives near southport? If so then a daytrip coulc easily be a possibility as well as an up north meet up.

Been to temple newsam today for a picnic with friends and their dd and ds. First time I've taken both S and E on the bus and it was ok. We went to the farm too and dh finished work early so he caught the end of the farm and was able to give us a lift home. Yippee!

Sylvie is starting to smile properly now and is sooo cute!

Wilkiepedia · 01/08/2008 20:03

Miles to late but have a fab holiday with the terrors boys, hope they don't squabble to much!

Lizz - you back yet, saw the articles on creams in sun but couldnt see a pic

Had a nightmare today some bloke went straight into back of my car when I was taking girls to a party, need new bumper and not sure what damage underneath plus I need to order 2 new car seats and then claim money back. Bloke admitted there and then it was his fault just hoping he rings his insurance company and admits liabilty

wanders off to research car seat options again!!

Lizzzombie · 02/08/2008 18:32

yo!
Whole lot of chatting gone on, so have to read up properly.

Week at my parents was fun. Have to thoroughly recommend Street for a discount shopping location (near Glastonbury) forthe princely sum of £19.50 in Next I got 2 dresses, 2 tops (all for me!!!) and a pair of baseball boots for DJ!

The clarks outlet was good, but apparently DJ nas 5E sized feet, which meant its impossible to find any shoes in his namby pamby narrow size. And they didn't have my loverly dykey shoes in either. So I had to order them from Schuh online for full price. Bummer!
Anyhoo, DP is out for the next hour with DJ on their way back from a christening (I had to work) so I'd best make the most of my last hour of freedom.
Quick question - I've come up in a skanky case of exzema around my eyes, what on earth do I put on it to calm it down? Its gross and I can't see the Dr till Friday. Its driving me mad!

ps - DP got a tattoo....with mine and DJ's name on it whilst we were away. Have a look on my facebook if you are on it!!!!!

eandh · 02/08/2008 19:56

Lizz - just looked and was a bit confused about yourname and then realised that it was a different abbreviation of Elizabeth (doh thicko head)

vinorouge · 02/08/2008 20:59

Yo! to you Lizz (not heard that for ages). Glad you had a good time at your mums.

I just spoke to my mum and she told me my younger brother ate a steak last night (he went veggie at 16 when he got together with his now ex wife). Apparently he told mum his fave meal always was roast beef. It will make meal planning when he stays with me in a couple of weeksk much easier. (Sorry to any of you veggies - I quite like the odd meat free meal but not too many in a row)

Went out for the day with DH and girls. Think we have a puncture in wheel of phil&teds so dh out at garage pumping them up. Decided we need a bigger cool bag so have just ordered a new one and a spare inner tube in case we have a puncture incident. Going to PILS tomorrow - am sure it will be ok.

E&H - scary about the accident. Glad you are all ok though.

Wilkie - how is J after the dettol incident?

theSuburbanDryad · 03/08/2008 09:45

My ferry trip is booked!! OMG i'm so excited by this - can't wait. Why is Sept 14th so far away?!

Lizzzombie · 03/08/2008 10:48

UD - where are you going?!

eah - its DP's pet name for me!

wilkie - hope J is ok.

Vino - what, you mean you don't use "yo" in every day life?! Mate of mine recently got the Phil and Teds pannear bags for her double buggy. Reckons they are great.

theSuburbanDryad · 03/08/2008 11:30

Lizzz - off to Holland with my M&D, to visit family and hopefully do lots of fun stuff! Am very excited about taking Z on the ferry - we're going on the night boat so he'll sleep all the way there (in theory!!)

You all need to go to my buggy thread on the shorthaul travel section and advise me!!

Vino/Wilkie, yes I am in Warrinton so not too far away. Will have to arrange something later in the year when I have recovered fro having this one!

EAH- Scary about the accident but glad all ok. Think boots often have deals on car seats.

Urban- Why does the 21st Aug seem so far away too?!!!

Pink- SOunds like he will have a great day. I hav enot braved the 'party' thing yet with Luke but think it is inevitable next year!

Lizz- Glad you had a good time.

No news. Feeling fat and sore.

Wilkiepedia · 03/08/2008 19:40

UD - that's my birthday!! I'll be 27 (how depressing)

Lizz - what is your nickname? Not on Facebook so can't see photo

Had great day with M&D, dsis, BIL and DTs. Hectic but fun. Am knackered now.

vinorouge · 03/08/2008 20:28

Lizz - I ordered the pannier bags last night too. I felt like I had quite an online spend!

Day with PILS was ok, quite relaxing. Came home with more presents for E&S - they never seem to stop at the moment!

Rgee - you've been quiet, actually, i just remembered it was this weekend you were away. Hope you had a great time

eandh · 03/08/2008 20:50

Wilkie - 27 27 I am going to be 30 next year (sob thats old!)

DH - glad you are okay not long now!

PCF - Oooo Ellie would love that she loves Peppa Pig (have you found a peppa pig cake??)

Vin - sounds exciting (online spend!!) yep have decided to get car seats from boots, Ellie getting a super dooper top of range booster seat as other insurance will pay for them (going to ring tomorrow to check he has contacted his insurance company)

Rgee - nice weekend????

UD - you made a decision yet, bet you'll have a fab time bil and sil often go over for a child free weekend (sil went to anne franks house and I was as love to go and explore there)

I feel like I am at work at the mo, have texted 15 of mums from preschool (got most of them to fill in a contact sheet before holidays) and arranging a meet up for picnic/paly at local park, then 17 of our friends are going out for dinner saturday night (girls at my parents ) so everyone emailing/texting me menu choices as need to preorder, plus getting replies about ellies birthday party. I have 3 seperate spreadsheets going now

Lizzzombie · 03/08/2008 21:22

Ud - Amsterdam is the best place in Europe to get shoes. Its fabulous! Hope you get to visit there as part of your trip. And also the flea markets are cool too.

Eah - Can I just sa that 30 is not old. In fact its spritely. Plus, you have accomplished lots in your short years (as has Wilkie). I will not have you youngsters dreading the fact you are about to enter the decade of empowerment and confidence. Embrace it. I promise you its not as bad as you think! My 30th birthday was the best birthday I had ever had. 31 was shitty as I was pg and 32 was bollox as DP had that evil sickness which everyone had last year. But, I have high hopes for my 33rd....am thinking Irish pub...Guinness...tirtytree etc etc???!

Lizzzombie · 03/08/2008 21:23

btw - PCF, have you seen the Pepa Pig outfits in asda? Soooo cute!

theSuburbanDryad · 03/08/2008 23:44

Pah!! Amsterdam is for tourists - i love Rotterdam and Utrecht. My mother is Dutch so we used to go over a lot when we were kids - I don't mind Amsterdam - but I wonder if it might be a bit of a nightmare with a toddler in tow! Especially one who throws himself towards any sort of water - just thinking about all the flippin canals!!

Wilkiepedia · 04/08/2008 07:05

OK, so hauling two toddler twins onto my shoulders all day is not a good idea. My fecking neck is killing me. I can't look left! Oops.

DH announced last night that he is giving me the day off today which is very nice but couldn't he have told me a few days ago so I could have made plans? I am desperate to have my eyebrows waxed and mendhi done on my foot. Will have to hope she has a gap!

STILL haven't had contract for my job. Am just totally fed up with it, talk about taking the shine off it!

EAH - had to have a little chuckle about your spreadsheets. You and my DH are soulmates

UD - I would like to go to Holland again. Been to Amsterdam but went with my boring ex who didn't want to do ANYTHING while we were there.

Lizz - tirtytree - can we have a big MN party? I just like being 26, it's a nice age

Vin - J is fine after the floor cleaner thanks. God love him!

J had a fruitshoot H2O yesterday and LOVED it! But by god did he pee afterwards. He loves the bottle so I have saved it and filled it with ordinary squash. Having read the label of ingredients, the H2O versions don't contain sugar like the nasty coloured ones so I am happy for him to have them for special occasions. BUM to wanky MN.

eandh · 04/08/2008 07:54

Wilkie - hope neck gets better soon and you get your beauty treatments. I liked being 24-27 but no matter what Lizz says I'm going to feel old next year, its not just being 30 but the fact that Ellie goes off to full time school, meant to ask hows the house going?

Its strange still being at home today as normally girls are at my Mums by now, just hanging till 8.30 when I can call Drs and beg for an early appt so I can get to work

Both of mine like the h20 fruitshoots but Hattie also discovered apple flavour water and adores that.

Lizzzombie · 04/08/2008 08:13

morning,
I had a convo about fruit shoots the other day. Are the sugary ones not 'better' than the ones with the artificial sweetners? We decided they were. But its quite to hard the sugar ones.
Dsis's twins are 3 next Sunday. Fancy dress party! Have no idea what to wear. They have passed an audition to appear on some new cbeebies program, filming starts in October! My sis can't believe they were chosen as they basically ran riot in the audition and didn't do what they were supposed to do at all!

UD - Maastrict is nice too. I personally preferred the boats there to the coffee shops in the 'dam.

Lizzzombie · 04/08/2008 08:14

ps - wilkie - is a mehndi one of those henna tattoo things? Or am I way off?

  • morning eah! x
Lizzzombie · 04/08/2008 08:15

lth - we went here yesterday. Was fab! Have you been? Its lovely. PCF - if you are ever in the area go and see it, its miles cheaper than Drusillas!
