The thread title is for the January babies who have become/are soon to be big brothers and sisters

Can't remember all from last thread except
Wilie congrats on the move and hope visit to vino goes broodily well
eandh - potty?!! Aleady?!! I'm only just getting there with ds1!!
DH - I went to a wedding on due date with ds1, but that was because I wanted him out. Alas, despite energetic ceilidhing, to no avail! Also went to Halifax for a wedding when about 38 weeks with ds2 (on Loosh's ds's bday in fact!), was a little nervous in case I went into labour so far from home, but didn't exactly expect to go early (just as well, eh?). But I guess is different if you're going for a c/s

Lol diy is def not a strong point plus my dad is a builder so he does it all!!!

Wilkiepedia · 19/07/2008 21:14

Vin - you ARE pretty! I know what you mean though, I think it is just general post-pg, I felt minging after I had J. What about having your hair lightened or something so you have 'a change'?

My hairdresser is fantastic and I am more than happy to watch the LOs if you wanna come over and go to her?

Lizzzombie · 19/07/2008 21:39

ok, whilst waiting for my gold strips to dry (all will become clear when I post photo later) I am about to play around on www.thehairstyler.com and find myself a new look.
Vino - choose a new style with me!

Lizzzombie · 19/07/2008 21:47

actually, scrap that. Its £7.95 to join up.
I need to find a free site where I can upload a photo of my face up and try out hair styles.

Lizzzombie · 19/07/2008 22:02

Morning all!

Crappy night here at IL's, Z woke up at 3am screaming and crying, really upset, wouldn't get into bed with us, wouldn't nurse. I lost my patience with him and then felt really bad when we discovered at 5 that he had done a poo in his nappy and his bum was really raw! He had a mad temperature spike as well, don't know how high as we don't keep a thermometer here, but he was boiling hot. Managed to force some Medised down him, and stripped him off to his nappy and he snuggled in and went to sleep. But he was obviously on a nurse-a-thon as he then nursed for about 2 hours solid. Had to keep switching sides so i didn't get too sore.

Anyway - he woke up at half 9 full of the joys of spring so i left him with MIL so we could get some more sleep but I can't sleep (typical!) so I've been looking at Eurostar/Easyjet prices to Amsterdam for the next few months and it's sooooo expensive. Really wanted to go over to Holland to see family but it's just not an option - especially when we'd have to pay £100 for Z's passport! Fuckers...

Why does everything have to be so expensive? It's not fair.

Lizzzombie · 20/07/2008 16:16

Good afternoon!

Lth - how much £££ did you make? How did it go?

Wilks - did the picnic go well?

UD - was talking to a lady the other day who pays £39 each way Eastbourne to Paris on the EuroStar and her DD is under 2 so goes free. But she books very far in advance. (what about flying from a random airport - Portsmouth or something?)

Well, we just cycled a local cycle route for the last 2 hours. My arse hurts soooooooooooooooo much! But, I know it will be worse tomorrow! Nice to get out and do something though iykwim.

Hope you all had good weekends x

eandh · 20/07/2008 16:40

LTH - thankd for your post and how did you get on at boot fair?

Lizz - nice warm bath for your bum

Wilkie - how did picnic go, was thinking baout you

Vin - I remember that 'uugh' feeling, maybe get your hair done and have pedicure or something as a treat, what time did DH get home?

UD bummer about sleeping, why is Z's passport a £100 think we paid £48 for Hatties?

Well DH fell alseep on sofa last night and tbh I couldnt care so got up with H at 6am (she was poking me from 5.30am) spoke to my Mum at 7.30 to see how Ellie was and I said that DH was 'ill' and I was going to take Hattie somewhere, Dad phoned back, he'd booked us on ferry and picked us up at 8.10 thankfully she was dressed and I'd had a shower so ran around like a mad woman getting bag ready and getting mine & H's passports, DH got up and his face was a picture when he asked where I was going, he was really pissded off but we had a great day (ellie still with my parents at restuarant having dinner but H was tetchy so we came home)

DH reckons he now hates his job (hasnt mentioned it before) and he is going to some open day for tesco distribution centre opening (he has hgv license) I havent said anything about it but will have to look at the package as he can not afford to move jobs for less wages and personally in the current climate he'd be better of staying where he is. I have spoken again about his drinking and made the point that in the last 6 weeks whenever he has wanted to go for a run, footie, see his mates I havent said a word (normally we'd have a bit of a row about lack of notice) and the fact that all of this is making me ill. I have given him the choice to stop drinking or move out.

No not harsh at all, thing is every 3/4 months I end up on here moaning about his drinking and then he makes promises and they never last. The longer it goes on the more bitter I become and in the end it'll affect his relationship with the dd's as I wouldnt let him have unsupervised access because I couldnt trust him not to drink.

I found baby clotehs didnt go that well at boot fairs but baby equipment and toys sold really well but £60 not bad profit what you going to spend it on?

Pi$$ing h£ll - never done it before then do it twice in a week. Just deleted my monster post before submitting. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH.

This time I'll try to recreate what I said to Eah...

((EAH)) Hope you had a lovely day today. When I read your posts, I always think how similar our dh's sound. My dh's favourite things are booze and sport (running, footie, golf, cricket, anything else).
DH used to drink loads, particularly binge drinking. He cut down a couple of years ago, when he got too old to play football, and started to take running more seriously. He realised he couldn't run well when he'd been drinking lots. Around the same time, he didn't believe how much he drank when I used to tell him, so I started recording both of our drinks consumption on a bar chart . I did this for three months (when he got back boozed up I used to aks him exactly what he drank and work it out - if he couldn't remember we'd do an educated guess between the two of us), and he was amazed how many units he had each week. Having said that, I really think it was the effect it had on his running that made him cut down. He still drinks quite a lot (he was c 15 units a week whilst training heavily, but now prob more like c 25) but no where like he used to. I like a drink too, but nowhere near his level, and in a way, it is part of who he is and his family culture. I hate to say it, but I am not convinced that your dh would fully give up the booze
This is not helpful in the slightest, and you all know this anyway, but I really can't get over how differently men are programmed. The lo is always my first priority, and I don't like going out all the time becuase I miss her. But dh has no qualms about being out and finds it hard to understand my reluctance to go out. Then I get angry that we don't have enough 'family' time and his idea of spending time with the lo whilst at home is with Sky Sports / CBeebies on in the background.
Enough...I'm not being helpful, just to say I do understand where you are coming from.

Gonna post this before I lose it again...

Reggiee · 20/07/2008 18:05

Wilkie hope today went well. The weather was nice for once. Are you knackered now?

LTH not a bad return for the car boot. Hope you spend the remainder on yourself (as if you will, but you should).
I felt really queasy reading about ds pecked eye. Urgh. Hope he is ok.

Lizz Am impressed at your activity. Was that with DJ on the back of your bike too? Hope you are sat down stuffing your face with chocolate. All those calories....
PMSL at dickhead btw.

UD is an overnight ferry out of the question? Think they sometimes have really cheap deals too. I think expensive is the way it's gonna be for the next few years. Sigh.

Vino I thought your hair looked fab shorter. It looked really glossy and healthy.
I'll come on Wed pm instead if that's ok.
Didn't see your dh yesterday btw. It was really tedious and just glad I was there with lots of friends and that the weather was kind. Have quite a suntanned face today.

Had a nice couple of days here. PIL came round yesterday to babysit whilst dh and I were out for the day. Today we've all been to the farm and out for lunch. Lo so tired she was in bed at 5.10pm!
I got up yesterday at 4.30am to go to Next. Got loads of great stuff. Back in bed by 6am, and lo slept in until 8am . Am v pleased with all the clothes I've put away for next year.

eandh · 20/07/2008 18:08

rgee - you are psychic, I was just thinking about trying to work out his alcohol consumption for this weekend, I'm not sure if he has been drinking today, but just looked at his phone and he was sending crap text at 1am this morning so obviously woke up after I went to bed, he sent one to his mate this afternoon saying 'not good mate looking for big change going to stay at my mums for a bit call you tomorrow for a chat' this is his mate who has seperated from his wife and back living with his parents.

tbh I cant be arsed to confront him and deep down realise I dont really care what he does at the moment, if he can prove to me that things will change then maybe just maybe we could work it out but life as it is cannot continue this way for me or the girls, all he nneds to do is give me £600 a month (this will still leave him £1400 a month but he'll need to pay his loan and card) and I can do the rest on my own

laughalot · 20/07/2008 19:23

Bloody men maybe the lesbian option will be easier .

Eah I really dont know what to say you do seem to be going round and round in circles every few months and he did promise last time that it would stop be here we are again. I just dont understand men at times but I hope you two can work through it and come out at the other end. I dont want to defend c in anyway but when w was stressed out in his job he went a little bit pysco and dident want to tell me and let on how stressed he was but it all came to a head in the end do you think the work thing is getting him down ? Please ring me if you want to chat xxx

Vino glad the girls are ok and dont worry about feeling rubbush you havent long since had s so give yourself a little more time.

Lizz did you buy the shoes ?? Lol at your link.

Ud how is z now any better ? Things are always worse when your pg and tired.

Lth at least you made a bit of money. I also wouldnt worry about people replying to your posts people can be ever so funny and bitchy at times.

Rgee what keeps happening to your loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggg posts lol. Have you convinced dh to have another dc yet ?

Wilkie how was the picnic ?

We had a bbq in the garage today as it started to pee down just as we lit it lol. We are fine otherwise xx

Wilkiepedia · 20/07/2008 20:34

Hi All

Well picnic was bloody fantastic! Went really well (would you agree Vin?) and my dsis thinks Vino is once of the nicest people she has met (don't worry - I filled her in on all of her bad points ). The kids seemed to really enjoy themselves, the MN food police would have had a FIELD day as they were all high on choc, pizza, crisps and cookies by the end of it! Perfect

Not gonna do personals as too knackered but I hope everyone is OK.

xx

vinorouge · 20/07/2008 21:45

Yes the picnic was great!! Perfect party with lots of treat food and little people running everywhere. I want to host one now! I feel brighter for having had a nice day, not that yesterday wasn't nice but am sure you kwim.

DH got home 11.30ish last night as he got last bus home. I was asleep and we had already arranged for him to sleep in spare room where I had left his toothbrush so he could use the bathroom rather than ensuite. Anyway he got up and helped me get e&s ready this morning so not all that bad. He has worked on his presentatiuon fo rinterview today and i've helped him with it this evening ( I like doing things like that).

LTH - as i lay awake feeding Sylvie in the night all I could think was how I hadn't given you a personal so SORRY - hope that you manage to resolve things with DH / the will / etc. I hope you are in bed now after your early start.

Rgee - Weds cool, you are in my diary.

TMI - My front bottom hurts!!!!
I need to get a more padded seat. It feels like I've just given birth again! May have to dig out those femme pad things from the depths of the freezer!

Rgee - DP had DJ on the back this time as I've not ridden a bike for so long, apart from the one time when I first got it, it must have been about 10 years ago so I'm not terribly confident.

Took DJ to the park when I got back as he hadn't really done much apart from sit on the back of the bike. I've discovered how I will become rich. He is really good at kicking a football and dribbled it all over the park, like a mini pro! So, he will get a scholarship to a soccer school, then in 16 years be playing nationally for a championship league team and I will be brought a fab big house and car.
For now though, I need to change his nappy.

Off to a pirates party later. Adults have to dress up too, and I don't do horizontal stripes. Not sure what to wear....

x

theSuburbanDryad · 21/07/2008 08:03

Lizzz - have you got some capri pants or 3/4 length jeans? You could team them with a tatty old t-shirt, bandanna and eye patch!

eandh · 21/07/2008 08:54
