I hope I manage to do this right...I'll kick everything off with a roll call if it does.

just realised i copied the 'way to go Anya' duh, didn't mean to, should have put it in my own words!

muppetgirl · 27/06/2008 10:52

Hi all!

Well done Anya! WWAJC - really pleased for you x

Crochet - so sorry to hear you're having a tough time, are you having any ther therapy apart from the AD's? Do you fancy meeting up in the hoildays?

J20 -yah on the boyfriend!

Just getting ready to go out for my exercise sesh with the lovely Darren. It's my assessment week so I will do the same session as my first and compare the results. Not lost any weight (at all in fact) but then my goal was to tone up and I've definately done that as my clothes are fitting so much better around the tummy than they did.

Did have a bit of a funny thing this morning as I was a little 'distracted' by a lovely looking man whilst parking at Henry's nursery amd I ended up driving into the fence!!!! Not much damage done but the girls in the office saw me and thought it was hilarious especially when I told them I was looking at a lovely man oh well, no one was hurt

Rainning here at the mo but at least the house is tidy -a bonus of having an exercise session at home!!!

Oh, and I almost forgot!!!!! Our friends (Ollie's Godfather and wife) who had the ectopic prcy and 2 further miscarriages are prgt again!!!! They told us yesterday and are 8 weeks tomorrow and going for an ealry scan today. Please can we all cross fingers and toes for them as they've never got passed 10 weeks. Those who pray, can you rememebr them in your prayers. We are so excited for them as theu would be fab parents. Thanks ayou lovely ladies xxxxx

muppetgirl · 27/06/2008 19:16

where is everyone?????

Just a quickie as we went to the Drs with Ollie again. This time we saw a Dr (even then it was going to be the nurse again despite me asking for a Dr -what do you have to do to see a Dr at our surgery????) She looked in his throat, took his temperature, looked in his ears, checked his glands and it turns out he has a bad ear infection and impatigo. She then said ALL his glands are up all over his body and this would indicate a rather nasty viral infection. She said that she thinks the rash is caused by the body trying to fight it and the runny tummy is due to the glands in his groin being up, they can push on the bowl to irritate it. She wants him to have a blood test as she thinks it could be glandula fever (sp?) we also have to try to get a stool sample.

My poor boy she thinks the teariness, tiredness and 'hormonal' type behaviour is typical of an ill little boy as they can't just tell us they're ill...

Really

But also bloody angry that we have seen 2 nurses AND a DR to get here and it's been 3 weeks since he first saw a nurse.

He is booked for a blood test next thur and the Dr is going to do it herself as nurses don't do children's blood tests. She says that they always scream and that we will need to hold him. Oh good god this is going to be awful. I know how I felt last time he had his jab and he screamed then....
DH is coming with me though so that will help.
Feel really crap that he's been ill for so long and I didn't insist I saw a Dr.

LisaLessLumpy · 27/06/2008 20:39

Oh muppet, how awful for poor little ollie

Can't believe he has been that ill and it was missed totally I would be spitting chips. Lets hope he can now start to get better, although I don't envy you having to take him to get blood

Sophus - nice to see you back

LisaLessLumpy · 27/06/2008 20:40

Oops wrong topic regarding sophus

FloriaTosca · 27/06/2008 23:39

Muppet; Poor, poor Ollie and poor you, both for his suffering and your worry and now guilt after being fobbed off for so long...we all tend to expect the health proffessionals to know best, you cant blame yourself... I am now even more grateful to have the incredible luck that my Dr is a paediatrician and will fit a child in for the least thing....at least your Dr is taking interest now and will be taking his blood herself, I hope that goes better than you expect (and that you dont chin the Dr like I nearly did when Alex had his last jabs)and that Ollie will be better very soon.Prayers going up tonight for Ollies godparents as requested.

J20;Having a boyfriend 4 yrs younger is a very hip thing to do...I should know, my Dh is 4 yrs my junior...so glad that things are going well. And hope Shannons teeth finally break through soon...Alex has been teething since Christmas and has only just cracked the one and sad to say it has made little difference to his lack of sleep pattern as yet

too late to post on our lack of news...sleep well all

mupet for you, poor baby! (Ollie i mean) dd1 had her blod taaken on wed, we had to book an appointment 4 weeks in advance for it, and they took her attention away from it, but may not work for Ollie with him being so young, imo you should explain prior to it, and tell him about how you needed yours done for when you where pg etc, to make sure everythings ok and he's going to get better, i felt that they didn't need to baby dd1 so much over it, but that is cos she is older, i always say to her 'its not pain, its just pressure! if that makes sense.

ok, am pretty drunk as i've been at a work do with a free bar with the toyboy, he is passed out upstairs, bless him, he started dancing when we got in, singing 'shake your bum bum now!!' to my mum who was bsbysitting, hmmm, i hope he'll regret it tommorrow when i take the micky, am counting on him being mortified, after all i've already got 2 kids, don't need a third!

better go to bed, am babbling, hi to everyone xx

J2O · 28/06/2008 14:23

oh dear, i really shouldn't go on the net when i've been drinking

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 28/06/2008 20:33

Have had a rubbish couple of nights - I know that's nothing compared with some of you but I'm really feeling it! Anya's got such a bad cold and although she's going down ok at night she wakes up a couple of hours later screaming the place down. I think lying down for that length of time just makes the snot all go to her head and make her feel crap. Anyway, once she's awake she won't go back in her cot - she just wants to be cuddled. Pick her up and she's instantly asleep in my arms, put her down and she's instantly screaming (or sometimes she'll leave it half an hour just until I've fallen asleep again!) There's only so much dozing on the sofa that I can do so when it gets to about 3am we've ended up bringing her into our bed. It does work - it keeps her quiet - hope she realises it's just until her cold clears up though! Don't want to have to spend the next week weaning her off co-sleeping!

Crochet - fab news on your weight loss - well done! Hopefully you'll feel better when you get back to work - usually the thought of something is worse than it actually happening. When you going back?

J2O - woohoo to you on the boyfriend front. Let us know more details! Lol at him singing to your mum.

Muppet - at Ollie still being ill - at least you have a possible diagnosis though, although at how long it's taken. Don't beat yourself up, although you are a mum so of course you will - but it's not your fault. At least dh will be supporting you through his blood test. btw lol at you crashing the car while suitably distracted. Hope your friends have better luck this time -keeping my fingers crossed.

Well Anya woke in the middle of that post after just half an hour's sleep, but had a big feed and is now back asleep. Fingers crossed it lasts!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 28/06/2008 20:35

Muppet - not sure that last post read very coherently. The last sentence related to Ollies godparents, but you probably worked that out eventually!

crochetdiva · 29/06/2008 08:19

omg omg omg omg ... have found a lump in my breast ... at 3am! It's big (really big), and my boob is v. painful ... please stop me from going into a flat spin!!

muppetgirl · 29/06/2008 09:14

Crochet - Trying to think of what to say but I know how I would be feeling in your shoes. Try not to worry (I sound stupid just saying this) make an app asap at your drs and learn from my recent experience -DON'T COME AWAY UNLESS YOU ARE TOTALLY SATISFIED YOU HAVE HAD YOUR CONCERNS LISTENED TOO!!!!

I am sure it'll be okay and am hoping it's a milk duct related thing?

Thinking of you toady try and keep busy as this might distract you xxxxxxx

J2O · 29/06/2008 09:48

Crochet-you're still bf aren't you? its prob as muppet says, but get checked out asap tommorrow, don't panic xxx

Dalrymps · 29/06/2008 09:54

crochet - just popped on to say i'm thinking of you, try to stay calm (I know, easier said than done) and just make sure you get yourself checked out asap. As the others say i'm sure it is related to bf, try to put anything other than that out of your mind until you have seen the gp. ((((hugs))))

FloriaTosca · 29/06/2008 11:05

Crotchet; I'm sure it will just be a milk duct, at worst an abcess that will be fixed with some abs...sorry if I'm being a bit obvious but are you feeling flu like symptoms? (that was my first sign of mastitis). Get yourself to a walk in clinic and get it checked out..
(((hugs))))

Mine · 29/06/2008 18:16

hi folks

I've not been on here for a while and it looks like i've missed sooo much.

We've just got back from our first family holiday... it was absolutely fantastic. taking a baby for the first time wasn;t as bad as i thought.
DS and dh loved it so much we're going back next year!!

Hope everyone is well. I'll try and skim through posts asap
xx

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 29/06/2008 21:07

crochet - it's almost certainly nothing to worry about. But get yourself checked out asap. Thinking of you hun, try not to worry (easier said than done I know). Big hugs.

Mine - hello, nice to see you back, glad you had a good holiday.

Well, had a better night last night. Fed madame at about midnight then she slept through until 5am and stayed in her cot without screaming. Her cold has been better today - she's still covered in snot but at least she can breathe while feeding/sucking her dummy. Hopefully we'll be back to a normal routine tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good night
x

Dalrymps · 29/06/2008 22:15

Hi everyone, haven't really got time to catch up properly but just popping on cause i'm at home alone and i'm worried about my fil. We were round there today and just as we were about to come home and put Dylan to bed he started coughing up blood. He was ill last year and had a problem with his intestines and had to have a big operation and it was really worrying for all of us, now it seems something else is wrong . He smokes, we keep telling him to give up and he says he will but doesn't, i'm really really worried it's something to do with that. He'd been smoking a fag out the back when he started coughing up the blood. He started saying he was sure it wasn't from his lungs but if you're coughing it up, where else can it be coming from?! He wasn't vomiting up... Dh has gone with them to the wansbeck hosptital about 50 miles away, bil has gone too. I hope i'm worrying about nothing and it's just something minor.

FloriaTosca · 29/06/2008 23:09

dal; no words of comfort I'm afraid...not much medical knowledge...but want you to know that you arent being ignored, that I'm thinking of you and the family and hope that it is something minor too...I'll be on in the morning and hope you can give us a more upbeat update (((hugs)))

Dalrymps · 29/06/2008 23:11

Thanks floria, not heard anything yet but they'll be in the hospital so won't be able to have their phones on. Will update as soon as there's news, am praying it's ok.

LisaLessLumpy · 30/06/2008 06:54

My thoughts are with you and your family Dal, I hope everything is ok this morning x

J2O · 30/06/2008 09:32

Dal-how's everything with fil? x

muppetgirl · 30/06/2008 10:14

Dal just hoping fil is getting better xxx

Dalrymps · 30/06/2008 10:33

Phew, fil is back home and ok. Dh got back with them at 3am, he was knackered when he went to work for 7.30 this morning. Fils chest xray was clear and so were his blood tests. They think his blood had been thinned cause he's been taking asprin, they think it might have been a urst blood vessl in his throat or something like that? Glad he's ok though, was fearing the worst and mil was in a right state . So, hows everyone else today?

Stefka · 30/06/2008 12:41

Hey all - sorry to have fallen off the face of the earth. Been having a few issues - you can read about it here:

My boy is well though. Not crawling but a very skilled roller!

I hope everyone is well and I will try and catch up soon.
