I hope I manage to do this right...I'll kick everything off with a roll call if it does.

Appologies for all the spelling mistakes.

muppetgirl · 22/07/2008 08:11

J20 ? He sounds fab. A lovely, young nubile young man?.oooo you lucky thing! Re the potty my Chinese friend swears by it and started her lo off very young apparently it is very common in China.

Inzi ? Great news on the stone that?s amazing!!! I bet you?re feeling great about yourself too. Lovely to hear pf the family time just sorry there are four teeth on the way at the mo.

Floria ? Alex sounds like a very big boy now. I hope your mums remodelling job goes well! ( I will never mention Henry?s sleeping again

LisaLessLumpy · 22/07/2008 08:47

muppet - it sounds like Henry has what Ben had a few weeks ago. its a form of gastroenteritis. Whatever Ben ate or drank for 8 days was vomited back up. He lost 1 pound 3 ounces in a week and dropped from the 91st to the 51st percentile. He has more than made up for it since though, I got him weighed last thursday ( 7 weeks after the sickness) and he has put 4lb on he is now a heft 23lb 5 ounces It can apparently last up to 9-10 days but as long as you can get plenty of milk down him some of it will stay down. Hope you are all better soon

muppetgirl · 22/07/2008 08:57

Thanks Lisa, yes he's drinking milk still and I'm just offering him more milk feeds. He was happy to have 4 yesterday but really didn't want one before bed so he went 13 1/2 hrs without anything but if he's keeping what he is having down then I suppose that's a bonus. There does seem to be something going round at nursery so maybe he's got that?

FloriaTosca · 22/07/2008 09:03

Oh dear Muppet! First Ollie and now Henry! You really are going through it at the moment. I hope H sorts himself out quickly, 2 sick los at once must be both worrying and exhausting for you. As to running..have you tried it with a buggy? There is a girl round here that jogs with her lo in her buggy..I've seen her run past just about every day for 6 months and watched her "shrinking".. now you'd never believe she'd ever had child if the evidence wasnt in the buggy before her...Just a thought, if it was feasible, it might be a way for you and Dh to spend more time together, with the boys too, doing something you both seem to enjoy. I have to say you have my admiration, I have never been able to jog (dodgy ankle)...good luck with the race for life training.

Dal; sounds like a fabulous time, what a lovely, emotional wedding and fab your bf is now your sil. What a lovely (and musical) family...I love Cornwall, spent all our holidays there when I was a child, and am going for a week in September, you have reignited my excitement about going again. And fab news about Dh being ready for #2......my dh is only just coming round to Alex and certainly wouldnt be up for a second even if it was feasible for us to have another...I love your plan to get the house sorted and lose weight before ttc..how much do you think will get done before you succumb?(if it was me..nothing would get done)

muppetgirl · 22/07/2008 09:15

Hi Floria - did run with the buggy 2 weeks ago and it wasn't that bad. The only thing I found difficult was that I couldn't swing my arms and they were a little high. I have taken Ollie on his scooter whilst I run but that's a good idea to run together (dh would complain I'm too slow but the stats reveal we are, in fact, quite similar in pace )

Dalrymps · 22/07/2008 10:06

Floria - yeah Cornwall is lovely, I want to move there everytime I visit! My bro and bf are moving there after their honeymoon and are getting a brand new house which is lovely !
I don't know how much i'll get done before ttc cause it's alredy been a year and we've hardly got anything done! The original plan was to have it all done before Dylan arrived but as you can imagine that was easier said than done with me heavily preggers and dh working 12hr shifts 60 miles away... Am determined though, gonna really go for it, have written a to do list and everything! The loosing weight might not come so easy, I have a serious lack of will power but really want to lose some cause i'm the heaviest i've ever been .
Oh Muppet - that must be worrying for you, I can certainly sympathise with the closed mouth thing, Dylan does this quite a lot and isn't even sick, just very fussy, very frustrating when he has a slow weight gain prob! Hope both your lovely boys are on the mend soon (((hugs))).

Dalrymps · 22/07/2008 14:42

tumbleweed blows by.........

Where has everyone gone? Probably out in the lovely sunshine. I'm off out for a walk soon, once Dylan wakes up that is . Gonna go to the beach when dh finishes work too .

muppetgirl · 22/07/2008 15:07

I'm here!!!

I couldn't find the link to your photos though.

AM pleased becasue Henry has eaten a whole pot of ambrosia custard and that's the only thing he's managed to keep down that wasn't milk since last week. He now doesn't want his milk!

Dalrymps · 22/07/2008 15:54

oh hooray, glad he's eaten something, hopefully he's turned a corner and is on the mend.
Did you type .com or co.uk when you looked for the photos? Just asking cause I accidentally typed .co.uk the other day and it came up with a whole other site!
I know, i'll just do a link, why didn't I think of that before???
Here are the wedding photos, enjoy

muppetgirl · 22/07/2008 18:09

Dal -It looks a lovely place to get married! The chapel was beautiful. Lovely colour for the bridesmaids too x

Dalrymps · 22/07/2008 18:32

Yeah it was magical

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 22/07/2008 22:05

Mine - hurrah on first tooth! Anya's still not got any, so J2O you are not alone.

J2O - your man sounds lovely. Hope it works out for you.

Inzi - sorry you were feeling down yesterday, as FT says, am sure it is normal - glad you're feeling better. Poor Jane suffering with her teeth. Hope they come through soon. Well done with the weight loss. And woohoo for Bob! Well done at Jane for pointing at things too - can't get Anya to do anything like that.

FT - I know, I've been on the receiving end of that stare - it's very serious!

Crochet - can't offer advice on your other thread but hope it works itself out.

Dal - your wedding trip sounds wonderful - so glad it went well and that Dylan behaved himself. Very at your dh wanting another lo.

Muppet - hope both boys get sorted out soon!

Nothing very new here. Anya is now clapping hands and is much happier sitting up and standing - we've got her first physio appointment tomorrow so I'm hoping she will be in a showing-off mood! Got home from work this afternoon and dh had her stood on the window sill watching for me so that she could wave - it was such a lovely welcome home .

FloriaTosca · 22/07/2008 22:51

Dal; those photos are fab..love the one of you and your bro & bf & dh & Dylan...he doesnt look such a wee man now,he looks just adorable!and the one of bride and her dad and bridesmaids is very moving...oh and the beautifully lit one of the couple taking their vows..wow!
Inzi; hope you are feeling more "yourself" today (hugs)...isnt Jane just brilliant pointing to things wanting to know what they are! Alex says Mummy and Daddy and we think Doggie but I'm not sure he knows what they are, in fact he isnt pointing yet, just clapping his own physical accomplishments
Muppet; Glad you got something more solid down Henry...hope you got the milk down him later too.
WWAJC; Hope the physio appt goes well tomorrow..and what a wonderful welcome home!
Well, I took Alex for his first weigh in since just before he was 8 mths..he is now just 4 days off being 10mths...and he has only put on 1 lb in all that time, dropping down the centiles from the 50th to just above the 25th...hv said not to worry it is just because he is so very, very active but a bit disheartening for me when I have tried so hard to keep his calorie intake high and am still bfing him at least 2-3 times during the night as well as 4-6 times a day...ho hum ..

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 22/07/2008 23:03

Floria - yeah the photos are great aren't they!
Try not to worry about the weigh in, I know just how you feel but it's perfectly nromal for them to slow down when weaning. There are lots of things you can try, you've probably tried already but i'll tell you what I do anyway... Add unsalted butter, double cream, cheese to things, give things that involve milk like mashed potato, things in cheese sauce, pasta in sacue, fish poaced in butter and milk with mash, cereals and milk, ice cream etc etc Oh and avocado is very high in good fat, goes well with banana and yoghurt. Thats all I can think of for now but try not to worry, he really is a very active boy!

LisaLessLumpy · 23/07/2008 07:38

Blimey, I wish Ben would slow down a bit on the weight gain he put on 4lb in 7 weeks

muppetgirl · 23/07/2008 07:38

HI all

Well Henry has eaten 2 petit filous as well as his milk this morning and seems in a better mood!!!! Ollie is still hoilding his arm and telling anyone who'll listen that he's broken it (he fell over yesterday and scraped his elbow) he even got the older boys of the street to feel sorry for him and clear up his toys

WWAJC -hope the physio goes well, Anya sounds like she's doing really well...

Floria - sorry to hear about the weight gain but they do plateau. I wish I could get rid of these weight charts somedays as they are such a worry. I go back to dh's cave analogy...they didn't have them then and we did survive. If you're happy with his weight, input/output and he's meetig his milesstones try not to worry -easier said than done I know.

LLL- am hoping that Hen has turned the corner and soon starts eating properly agina. Good to Know Ben more than made up what he lost

Inzi - glad Bob is back how are you feeling today?

J20 - xxxx

Crochet -how's the feeding going?

Alice -hope yor're having a good week

Tles -WHERE ARE YOU?

Choc - hoping the house is lovely for you all
xx

Dal -xxx

HI to all xxxx

Dalrymps · 23/07/2008 08:36

Muppet - glad to hear he's eating more
Dylan wouldn't finish his breakfast although he was up earlier than normal so maybe just wasn'r hungry enough. He did have over half of it though and I gave him some banana to chew on which he seemed to enjoy although he didn't actually eat a lot of it. I'm still feeding him purees to make sure he actually eats enouh each day but i'm giving him finger food at the end of every meal to try and get him interested in feeding himself. I'm hoping he'll decide he wants to feed himself all the time then I can leave him to it whilst we eat

LisaLessLumpy · 23/07/2008 08:45

I am having trouble getting Ben to eat finger foods. He will eat toast and bread/breadsticks but he isn 't interested in anything else and so far he actively dislikes banana, custard, strawberries, rice pudding, scrambled egg, but he will eat most veg if I feed it him mashed up as a meal.

Dalrymps · 23/07/2008 08:55

Hmm it is difficult isn't it, Dylan doesn't really eat a lot of any of the finger foods i give him but this past week he's at least started sucking and munching on thm, before he would just lick them or look at them then chuck them on the floor so at least we're making some progress.
I think one thing that has definately helped to get him interested is those organix corn snacks, his diatician recommended them. I said i'd seen them but just thought they were crisps in disguise but she said they aren't, they're corn snacks coated with vegetable powder and they're good for getting them used to finger foods cause they just disolve, you can get rice cake ones too. I got some in boots but they sell them in supermarkets too, he has a couple after his tea and really likes them.

J2O · 23/07/2008 09:04

Dal- you crazy pair! another lo? i'm still coming to terms with having this one!

Muppet- so glad Henry is looking like he's improving, and lol at Ollie, bless him.

FT-try not to worry too much, he is very active, and he's probably due for a growth spurt soon, I am so impressed you are still bf, well done you!

crochet-hows the feeding going? I hope its getting better.

well, the kids have broken up for 6 weeks, and i have got dd1 chattering to me, when i'm used to having this time as quiet time for myself, grr.

sorry to miss people out, will try and finish saying hi to everyone later when she leaves me alone for 5 minutes, its a lovely day here, so we're going to go for a walk.

oh and can we do a meet up again soon? Can't wait to see everyone again, I'm good for most days, would like to bring dd1 to meet you all

have a nice day all xxxxxxxxxx

J2O · 23/07/2008 09:08

oh LLL have you tried one of them food masher holder thingys?

here Shannon doesn't like banana unless it is in this. i got mine from Asda for about £3, it is very messy and horrible to clean, but she loves it, and cries when i take it off her to fill up again
