WWAJC;ditto alice...I want to watch!!!!

Thanks for the sympathy both of you...I'm back on for more...I think I slipped a disc this morning...picked Alex up and something went ping and I was suddenly in some pain, tottered into the bedroom to put Alex down for his nap, took 2 paracetamol and had a rest, the phone went and I turned to pick it up and couldnt speak for pain...it took me half an hour to crawl back to the bedroom to see to Alex (fortunately still asleep)and cry down the phone to Dh to come home. Doctors wouldnt even fit me in for a telephone appointmentPharmacist has given me 300mg of Nurofen "back pain" every 8 hrs and I've been on my back all day......poor dh has really got his work cut out.......

WWaJC - excellent, you will tell us all about it of course... well done and enjoy your day

muppetgirl · 08/07/2008 08:06

Floria - you poor poor thing x How are you today?

WWAJC - LOLOLOLOL!!!!! Rather you than me though I think I would have trouble answering my name at the moment!!

Alice -Glad your confidence is getting better though I'm in awe that you can get up at 3am and operate on someone.

Well dh and I had a talk and he's going to deal with the IL's as I am at the end of my tether. I'm feeling a bit stressed at the mo as it's my first summer holiday with the 2 children and if I'm honest I'm a bit worried about how I'll cope. (I know I'm being a bit pathetic ) I have oprganised a lovely friends daughter to help out for a couple of hours on a Mon afternoon (she's a very sensible 17) so I can clean up the house as I'm quite on top of that at the mo but goodness knows what will happen with 2 children at home all the time and she's also going to babysit on Sat eve so dh and I can have a bit of time to ourselves and I can be away from the house without the children. Ollie is being okay and although tired his rash has gone, no runny tummy but he has started to get up at 5.30am... I'm just really glad he's on the mend.

Anyone got any tips for the hoildays?
I have;
Organised a few things for us to do with friends, on our own and with dh. We're doing one activity -pencil related a day so it's not a shock in sept when he has to do something like that every/every other day. We're writing a diary of what we do -I write what he says and we stick in anything he's drawn/coloured in/stuck/cut etc. Loys of playing outside, dog walks and playing with friedns after they've finished at school.

Anything else?

crochetdiva · 08/07/2008 08:08

FT - you poor thing! Hope your back feels better soon.

WWaJC - enjoy filming! fwiw my brain is having trouble with the intellectual level of heat magazine at the mo!

alice - sounds hectic at work, but you sound like you're enjoying it

muppetgirl - sorry to hear your MiL has started to be a pain again - she really is a very sad individual, isn't she!

Are you still coming up to Cardiff this weekend? Where are you staying? Email me, and perhaps we can meet up - or you can come round to mine for tea!

My lump in my boob is back - am trying to log in to the online appointments thingy at the mo, but it keeps crashing! May have to brave the phone!

Onthe Mairwen front, she spent 20 minutes yesterday putting a packet of tissues into one of my shoes, then tipping it out and laughing ... mad child

love to all

Dalrymps · 08/07/2008 08:12

I'm back!
Had a great time but was very tiring and i've now got a cold ... so has little Dylan .
He slept in our bed last night as I woke him up by coughing and made him jump out of his skin, he just wouldn't go back down after that so still quite tired, not anything near as bad as you though Floria so i'll stop moaning!
Floria - so sorry to hear about your poor sleep and your back, hope you recover quickly and the sleep improves very soon. Maybe it's your body's way of making you rest, maybe you should just sleep as you're on your back anyway?...if you can that is.
Alice - glad you're getting your confidence back at work and you caught up on your missed sleep.
WWAJC - I think you are very brave for agreeing to go on the quiz show, I'd make a total arse of myself for sure, sure you'll do great!
LLL- hope your shoulder is feeling better.
Muppet - hope your MIL stops pestering you with her mind games, just try to let her go over your head.
crochet - congratulations on the weight loss, your doing so well, I put ON 3lb over the weekend !
J20 - hope you enjoyed your brothers wedding
Well, i'm packing like mad as we;re on the go again on thurs, this time we've got to drive from Berwick to Cornwall!!! Doing it in 2 stages, to Peterborough (where my eldest bro lives) on thurs then on to Cornwall on fri, My bro is getting married there on sat, then were going to stay in a holiday house we have rented with eldest bro, sil and bros pils for the week after so it'll be nice but i'll miss you all! Had my bridesmaid dress fitting this weekend, it's lovely, a nice pale blur colour with (very flattering)pleats over my tummy and it's boned underneath so my wobbly baby belly is well and truly hidden , can't wait!
Off to give mr snot nose his bottle now, hi to Stefka, choc, mine, inzi and anyone i've forgotten, chat soon

muppetgirl · 08/07/2008 08:14

Hi Dal x
Anyone heard from tles at all??

Dalrymps · 08/07/2008 08:27

No, I haven't , saw her on facebook a while ago but sure she's popped on here since then...

LisaLessLumpy · 08/07/2008 08:29

muppet - sorry to hear about your mil troubles.
I too am dreading the holidays but luckily sam goes to two nurseries atm, he is breaking up from one on thursday after sports day he does two morning session at this one, but the other one he goes to all day on a thursday which is open all the time so I at least get one day to myself still. I need to organise some activities though.

Dal - glad you had a good time, hope your next venture is just as pleasant but I don't envy you all the travelling.

crochet - hope your boob is better soon, I remember how painful it can be.

Well my shoulder is finally on the mend, I managed to rest it all weekend in a sling so dh had to do everything ( well apart from cleaning and tidying). I think it was a shock to his system, he has said he would never in a million years do a job swap at least I know he appreciates what I do now

Well Sam is getting us up most mornings at 5.30am atm. He has had a cough which feels like months now but this past two weeks he starts coughing pretty much on the nose of 5.30 every morning and just doesn't stop. Bless him, his head and tummy must hurt from the pressure of it all. This morning he was going for two hours solid. So of course he then wakes Ben up too, so we are all up by 6am I hope it stops soon, there is nothing I can give him either, well the doc never suggested anything when I took him in two weeks ago. I'll have to start going to bed even earlier I think to combat the early starts

crochetdiva · 08/07/2008 13:43

I have a nasty case of mastitis ... am on ABs ... and have been told to take it easy - how on earth am I going to do that?

On the bright side, I've just booked a week away down at Lydstep Beach ... our usual favourite (wiseman's Bridge) was all booked up, so I've had to go somewhere else ... should be nice! It's something to look forward to before I go back to work ... (properly that is, I officially go back next Friday - the last day of term - how jammy is that? )

am going to see and watch tv now ... whislt making a bag for Rhydian's teacher.

love to all

E x

Dalrymps · 08/07/2008 17:54

Sorry you've got mastitis crochet , hope the ABs work quickly and it gets better soon. x

FloriaTosca · 08/07/2008 18:55

Crotchet; OOoh sorry about the mastitis..I had it in the 2nd week of bf, thought I'd got flu..not nice but the abs worked a treat. Hope they do the same for you.LOL at the ideaof rest with 2 los!and Lol at Mairwen and the tissues..how very industrious and patient of her..Alex would just eat them!Hope the new holiday venue is fabulous.

Muppet; glad Ollie is on the mend. You sound very organised for the hols..I'm sure you already cook with your los which is something we used to do over summer when we were little. One thing my mum used to do only during summer was have elevenses....at 11am , no matter where we were, who was visiting or what we were doing, everything stopped for milkshakes and either crumpets or potato cakes (dripping in butter..ooh..wicked!...I'm sure she'd do something healthier nowadays!) ...and once a week we went to a local cafe for cream cakes...that is what made Summer holidays for us...

LLL;glad the shoulder is getting better. hope sam recovers and gives you a break again soon...great that dh now appreciates what you manage every day...My dh is having a similar eye opener at the moment!

Well my back wasnt a disc thank heavens, it was one of the sticky out bits from the spine that stabilise it..and my gp manipulated it back into position this morning..still painful but not crippling and I'm on vertical or horizontal positions only today...no lifting, twisting etc Such a relief!!!
Dh has done dinner..got to go...every cloud has a silver lining!!!!

OP posts:
J2O · 09/07/2008 09:46

sorry, just on quickly to make sure i dont lose you

FT-poor you, hope dh is looking after you and you get better soon

Crochet-same for you, ouch, hope it clears up soon!

LLL-hope your shoulder improves and at dh, i love it when they realise quite how much you do, hope Sams better soon too.

Dal, glad you had fun, hope the colds are nearly gone.

right i've got to go shopping, got my uncles funeral tommorrow so need to get organised for that. oh and my brothers wedding was lovely, had a bit of an emotional moment when me and my bro told me he loved me, nothing to do with the 25 vodkas, honestly

will be back later to try and catch up properly xx

J2O · 09/07/2008 09:49

ps Alice-busy busy busy-can't you get pg again, so you can go on maternity and be on mn more we miss you!

WWAJF-how did it go???? which gameshow is it for, go on, tell us

alicet · 09/07/2008 14:49

Has anyone else noticed WWAJC has gone strangely silent since she announced she was going to be on a quiz show? Think she's avoiding us until it's been aired?!?!!

Floria sorry to hear about your back honey but glad it wasn't as serious as you thought...

LLL glad too that your shoulder is on the mend.

My dh also had a weekend flying (mostly) solo with me on call - I think it certainly doesn't do them any harm to appreciate it's not all fun and coffee!!

As for how to manage with them all the time I think you have some fab ideas muppet. I will wrack my brains.... We tend to go to the park a lot, on the metro trains which is only 5 mins walk from my house and Sam LOVES, and to soft play. Swimming too with dh. So nothing desperately imaginative but all my appreciated. Another gen is the library - it's great for small children as it has loads of toys too. Sam loves his books but you wouldn't know it as whenever we go there he just plays!

Oh and I had meant to say a while back that the BBQ is off for now until we work out what is happening with our extension. Didn't engage brain before offering that one - if we get going soon then we won't have anywhere to host it!!!! So maybe another time as it would certainly be great to see you all up here!

Anyway boys will probably wake soon so hello to everyone I haven't mentioned personally and I'll try to get back on here tonight...

muppetgirl · 09/07/2008 19:58

I have just run 4k in 23.47
WWWOOOOHHHOOOOOOOOO!

I never thought I would be able to do that!!!

I wanted to run further but had to come back so dh could go to tennis but couldn't

Love to all
xx

alicet · 09/07/2008 20:11

Bloody hell you put me to shame muppet! Well done!

LisaLessLumpy · 09/07/2008 20:38

Great going there muppet, I certainly couldn't do it that quick

muppetgirl · 09/07/2008 20:38

I know I'm being a little up my own arse but I'm so chuffed!!

How are you doing Alice it's great to hear from you...x

muppetgirl · 09/07/2008 20:39

...and Lisa too x

alicet · 09/07/2008 21:14

A bit shattered and full of cold but basically OK - ta for asking! Both boys are being absolutely gorgeous at the mo - think I fall in love with them a little more every day which makes the tiredness easier to deal with! Both sleeping pretty well now so the tiredness is more down to me going out last night with work before I get too much unwarranted sympathy !

Hello inzi you have been missed! Top tip for swimming is to take 2 towels - one to take into the pool with you to wrap her in when you get out so she doesn't get cold and another to dry her with as the first one will get soaked by her swimsuit.

Dalrymps · 10/07/2008 00:14

Hey all just popping in quickly before I go to bed to say hi. Have just about finished packing and will be setting off to my bros wedding tomorrow and then on my holiday in cornwall , will be back a week on sunday...
Hope you all have a nice week and i'll 'see' you soon x x x

crochetdiva · 10/07/2008 08:51

hiya, very quickly, inzi, you go girl!!

As for swimming, don't under estimate how tired Jane will get - aim to bring her out before she gets too tired, or you will have a screaming baby while you are getting changed! She may only last 15 - 20 minutes the first time to take her!

Got to run - Mairwen has just woken from her morning nap ....

I dream of 7-7 ... was up 3 hours with M again last night ... and am feeling horrendous as the ABs have given me a dodgy tum!

love to all. E x

ChocolateHobnob · 10/07/2008 13:58

Hello everyone! Just a flying visit from me as we aren't online yet and am posting from my parents computer. They are away but I've cheekily invaded their house to check my email!!! Anyway I have read through everything but no way will I have time to say hi to everyone personally... until our connection is back, anyway, but I'll try:

Alice, fab news on the extension! when are you moving?
Floria, with you on the sleep, honey - about which more in a bit.
Crochet, OUCH! How are you doing? are the ABs working?
Jaffa and white wine, which quiz was it??? and how did you do?
Enjoy the wedding Dal!
Muppet, my PILs can be pretty awkward too so am with you too.
Inzi, swimming with los is great! I recommend not going when they are tired/hungry otherwise it's easy.
Hi J20! Any love life goss??

OK, so we moved 2 weeks ago exactly, but then we had to go away for a big work event I was running(scary stuff). I had to wear proper clothes and pretend to be serious. R and DH came with me as did PILs. R was very good and took milk from a cup (expressed) while I was away and I came back to feed her too.

The house is clearly still a mess as you can imagine, but it's getting there. Sleep is a disaster. Oddly the first night we moved we stayed at my parents and R slept in her travel cot next to my bed and she slept really well!!! only woke up once between 7.30 and 1. She wasnt so bad when we were away either. Since then though it's been downhill again - back to every 45 mins and it's awful having her across the hall as it requires much more effort to keep jumping out of bed. My annoying SIL keeps on about how we've created this problem and we should shut the door and leave her to cry (she thinks she's an expert as she has 2 toddlers) and that irritates me even more.

OK, better move as she's bored! see you all soon when we're back online!
