looks like lots of 2004 weddings, us included.

Last year we did bugger all, no money, this year we are going to Rome. But we never really do the traditional gift thing anyway. Unless Ann Summers vouchers are one of them.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/05/2008 12:42

We don't usually do anything for our anniversary. The first few we went out for dinner, but not even that the past couple of years. Think we will do something this year though with it being 10. Possibly a night away somewhere nice without the jamlet?

Just invited a woman from work with her 2 DDs to come for birthday tea in a couple of weeks. Can't believe I'm organising a 1st birthday celebration!

HellHathNoFury · 27/05/2008 12:58

A night away sounds good - that was our original plan until I thought sod it, my frequesnt flier points were about to expire, so I used those for the flights and mum is having DS. It's all she has talked about for the last 6 months.

LittleMissNorty · 27/05/2008 13:25

Blimey, I'm lucky if I get a card....I have DD's birthday 3 days before our anniverary and DHs birthday 3 days later....

Rome sounds fab

LittleMissNorty · 27/05/2008 13:26

seems odd doesn't it Jammy....our birthday BBQ is Sunday....a year ago it was all kicking off....

BadZelda · 27/05/2008 14:04

Hey there

Just thought i'd pop in and say hello what with loads of birthdays coming up. Happy Birthday Ellen and MiniDaisy....can't believe they're all nearly one already!

Teeth: M's got seven! And is just about walking around. She says 'Ma TIL da', 'dada', 'ella' and 'cat' - no 'mama' though...oh well.

Must say all this permanent job stuff REALLY sucks...so I think I'll go back to being self-employed soon, and then I'm sure you'll hear much more from me. Right: better go, love to all especially foxy, holly, daisy and seansgirl xxz

DKMA · 27/05/2008 14:05

Hello.
Working at home today and have had a very productive morning..........then I decide to catch up with what is going on with you lot and before I know it - an hour has gone by!
Bugger!

lackaDAISYcal · 27/05/2008 14:35

PMSL...DD just said what sounded very much like, to both DH and I, Oh bugger

Am I being unreasonable to send my DS to a holiday playscheme on Thursday and Friday from 8 till 5:30, when there is no reason for us not to do something familywise as it's the school holidays? I feel really mean, but his friend who is here with us today and tomorrow (which is why I'm free to MN) is going and he asked if he could go too.

Hey Zelda, good to hear from you . We were wondering where you had got to, but I'd forgotten you had joined the daily grind.

Hi to DKMA as well . It's amazing how MN sucks you in

Rome, fury...you lucky thing. Are you taking DS or leaving him with granny?

Jammy, I think you should positively encourage your DH to get you some diamonds and don't breathe a word of tin or you'll get a tin opener or something.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 27/05/2008 14:54

Well done to baby daisy! Bugger was one of my dd first words too! She used to run around the house shouting it really loudly and laughing! Her first word was dog. She didn't say mama or dada for ages. Ds says "mum mum" and "dad", but that is it.

Hello Z! I've missed you! I was wondering where you were the other day. Hope you are well and work isn't too hellish. Lovely to hear from you xx

Hey MHC too. How is the BFC training going? Hope things are going well with the new pad.

Oh and hello DKMA!

I am writing my pushchair reviews. It's very boring!

foxythesnowfox · 27/05/2008 15:19

oh go on the Daisy, just for you I'll stay.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 27/05/2008 15:29

Yes foxy, stay and I'll give you cake!

foxythesnowfox · 27/05/2008 15:30

...what sort of cake? ....

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 27/05/2008 15:36

Well...I have some birthday cake left in the fridge (victoria sponge with fresh cream and peppa pig icing!), I also have mini choc covered swiss roll type thingies and some choc rice crispy cakes. I love cake!

foxythesnowfox · 27/05/2008 15:41

I love cake too.

I had two slices of Pizza Hut pepperoni pizza for lunch. Followed by a Fillet Burger and Chips from KFC

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 27/05/2008 15:47

I had 4 (yes 4) slices of cheese on toast and some cake!

No wonder I'm not a size 12 yet!

foxythesnowfox · 27/05/2008 16:52

I saw Tana Ramsey in Waitrose today (I was buying reduced meat, I don't think she was) and the woman who used to play Bev in the Bill in Next.

Its glamour all the way in my life!

Sputnik · 27/05/2008 17:09

Hi all. I am sitting on my porch with the portable as my DCs are both sleeping in the car, and I was too fed up to wake them and take them in (we are behind a gate and I can see the car btw).

DD has been doing music lessons where they sing, dance around, make funny noises etc, it's great and she really loves it but no way will she let me sit outside. Unfortunatly it's getting harder and harder to sit with the baby on my lap for an hour, today he pooed and I had to take him out for a nappy change, cue DD rushing out after me crying. So I have decided no more music lessons.

She has been super clingy for the last couple of months, cries at school drop off etc. Everyone thinks it's because of the baby, has anyone else had a delayed reaction like this? She was fine at first when he was bf for hours, so why now?

Oh ffs

Sputnik · 27/05/2008 17:17

It is too hot here.
Today was 34 degrees. Last week was 12. Wtf is going on?

Right, what else can I rant about.....

foxythesnowfox · 27/05/2008 17:48

Hi Sputnik! Whats up? Other than the temperature

What's going on at DDs school? Is she moving up a year? Now's about the time they are preparing them for the next school year. Could that be it?

She has just started there hasn't she? Someimes they realise that its for good they get bored and pissed off. Novelty has worn off.

Of course it could be the arrival of a new baby, it could be that the LOs have personalities now and are more demanding of us, but I think there are other factors which could be just as likely.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/05/2008 17:53

Hi Sputnik (though you've probably gone again by now). I have no experience of sibling rivalry really, but could it be something along the lines of when LO was tiny, yes BF took hours but didn't particularly take your attention from DD - you could still talk to her, listen to her, watch what she was doing, tell her how clever she was, etc etc. But now LO needs interaction too, which takes your attention away more. I might be spouting a load of jibberish of course! Whatever it is, hope you get some peace soon - and it seems a shame for DD to miss out on her music lessons, so can you use that as a bribe incentive?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/05/2008 17:56

Oooh, maybe I'm not as jibbering as I thought, Foxy said the same (among other good ideas)

lackaDAISYcal · 27/05/2008 18:14

sputnik, DS seems much more jealous of DD now than he ever did when she was a baby. I think it's because she is getting lots of positive attention with her words and mobility etc, but he only seems to get yelled at . He told my friend who was staying last week that he wished he was a baby as babies get lots of praise and cuddles. We are trying to be more positive and pro-active with him (hence me shipping him off the holiday play scheme for two days )
