FFFay hit the nail on the head there! I do think (and believe me, I learnt this the hard way) that we leave them to be respnsible for their job. Hard as it is, and of course it has a direct impact, we have to leave them to it and trust them to sort it out and not leave us destitute.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/05/2008 19:54

Mind, I think I might have something to say if (as I was just reading on another thread) DH quit his job without consulting me and only told me 5 days later

HellHathNoFury · 26/05/2008 20:16

I just ate a bowl of strawberries with cream and crushed up chocolate digestives.

Sooooo bad... but divine

foxythesnowfox · 26/05/2008 20:19

that sounds gooooooooood!

lackaDAISYcal · 26/05/2008 20:40

we had strawberries and cream for breakfast on Friday....was divine

you can keep the digestive biccies for me though!

FrazzledFairyFay · 26/05/2008 21:06

Mmmmmmm strawberries and cream

Dh is watching Rocky and I've been ironing - we know how to have fun

foxythesnowfox · 26/05/2008 21:16

mmm Rocky ... rocky road ...mmm

Have you had a Hotel Chocolate tasting box FFFay for this month with the strawberry and mint one in. Absolutely rank!

FrazzledFairyFay · 26/05/2008 21:21

No Foxy I haven't had this months' box yet - I get the solids/bars box rather than the individual chocs though (I really don't like alcoholic chocs and there always seemed to be so many in their Classic box) - but strawberry and mint does sound vile.

lackaDAISYcal · 26/05/2008 21:40

have been looking on HC website. they now have info on GF chocs etc, but still can't do the tasting club ....although I suppose I can give the non GF ones to DH or DS

lackaDAISYcal · 26/05/2008 21:45

and LOL at my lovely DD. she has reached the "If I can't have it, you're not getting it either" stage of development, and throws away things she has hold of that she shouldn't.

and she said poo today . I had been changing her nappy and going on about stinky poo. she kept on repeating the word poo for ages!

Sputnik · 26/05/2008 22:01

She's really clever Daisy.
Mine just says gwa.
Though the other day he completely randomly came out with a perfect hello, we both heard it, but I think it was just coincidence.

lackaDAISYcal · 26/05/2008 22:28

she just has the art of mimicry down to a fine art. she can also do a pretty passable purr

DH just asked if I wanted a drink of something......I replied milk please, in a bowl with some rice crispies added

He bought me a lovely stainless steel trowel and some pink leather gardening gloves for our anniversary....bless him.

All he got was two coronas and two miniatures of Jamieson's whiskey

hi mhc, and thanks

I saw chilli plants for sale in homebase or B&Q last year, so no doubt they will have them again/

It was our third anniverary. What is that meant to be?

HellHathNoFury · 27/05/2008 10:22

Morning all!

Hope everyone is good.
I am hoping to go to Aus this year to visit the IL's, but OMG the cost of flights is scary.

Sputnik · 27/05/2008 10:24

Hi MHC, my DD didn't get teeth til about 1, so I shouldn't worry. I think she would do anything for a tea party with Tigger, you are a great mum

Not sure about Baby Sputnik's birthday, I think maybe SIL and BIL are away, which leaves us with MIL as a guest, so not a huge party. It's a sunday though, so we might well end up going to the beach. He's shown a liking for pizza too, so maybe it'll be pizza at the beach

HellHathNoFury · 27/05/2008 10:29

I am having a bbq for DS. I invited lots of people but everyone either didn't respond or said no, so it will just be family.

foxythesnowfox · 27/05/2008 11:02

ummm, didn't I email you earlier this week Fury? Confused

foxythesnowfox · 27/05/2008 11:06

Happy anniversary Daisy!

We forgot ours this year. Remembered about 2 days later. But we haven't got a wedding anniversary to remember, but I do like to acknowledge the day we met.

I'd love to do Disneyland with the LOs. Might wait until next year, I think they'll all get into it then.

I decided yesterday I should take a break from MN as I'm getting too stuck into it at the moment. Obviously I just had to come and check inbefore I go

I am rubbish!

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 27/05/2008 11:09

Why is it than when you are having a fight with your partner the mum is the one who has to deal with the kids while the man can storm out or sulk in the bedroom?

LittleMissNorty · 27/05/2008 11:29

Ummm my 4th Anniversary is next week, and the card I bought says paper ....

HellHathNoFury · 27/05/2008 11:30

Hey Foxy

I got a FB message from you on the 19th saying 'where are you?' but I haven't heard from you since...?

lackaDAISYcal · 27/05/2008 11:33

oh, bumper things still not good?

....but here it's usually me that storms out

foxy...don't go, I'll miss you too much

lackaDAISYcal · 27/05/2008 11:36

I thought paper was your 1st anniversary.

I found out that 3rd is leather from this site

looks like DH got it right with my leather gardening gloves

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/05/2008 12:21

Ooooh, 10 years (us in September) is tradiationally aluminium or tin, or diamond jeweellry if you're feeling contemporary. So What reaction do you think I'll get if I suggest that I am traditional and buy DH a new saucepan, say, and he goes down the contemporary route and gets me something sparkly?

MHC, only just got 2 littles stubs of teeth here. Sharp though!
