Natty.....I can only echo others.....success rates are very high....and there are plenty of benign conditions it is very likely to be.

Why the 5 week wait? Biopsy results should be available within a week - even 19 of them. Has he got to have other tests as well?

Sputnik · 04/06/2008 10:50

Hi Norty, been thinking about you too, hope you're ok. When are you off to Coventry?

LittleMissNorty · 04/06/2008 11:01

Hi Sputnik - I'm doing ok - just been for my pre-op assessment and it was fine - my BP was a bit low (amazing for me) - thats the ADs for you ....they're obviously doing the job physiologically, but I don't feel any less anxious . Also as I've got an afternoon op on Monday, it looks as though I'll be in overnight so DH had to book Tuesday off work as well....oh well...

Off to Coventry Friday morning, back Saturday...

This time next week, it'll all be over and I can reeeellllaaaaxxxxx

Right, better get on with some work - didn't get in till 10.30

Sputnik · 04/06/2008 12:34

Just focus on this time next week, you'll be fine

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/06/2008 12:49

Norty - good luck for next week. Sure it'll all be fine and in a week's time you'll be on the road to recovery.

lackaDAISYcal · 04/06/2008 14:42

I've got a new laptop

Mine was on its last legs and it gave up the ghost this morning. As I got paid loads more than I thought I would this month, I thought well it's free money

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 04/06/2008 14:48

Yay daisy! I can't wait for the day we can get a new pooter. Then I can chuck this piece of crap out of the window!

Norty, hope it all goes well and you feel right as rain afterwards!

lackaDAISYcal · 04/06/2008 14:53

quick developmental question for anyone who has a clue....

DD seems to have very short legs compared to the legth of her torso. I can't remember DS being like this at his age. Are all babies lke this and is she likely to even out or will she go through life with the ape index of a fecking gorilla. It looks very noticeable to me but DH thinks I'm nuts.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 04/06/2008 14:56

Um, not sure daisy, I think all babies are a bit disproportionate! My ds has exceedingly long arms, long sleeved tops are fine for length on his body, but the arms come up to his elbows! I think that's why he started crawling bear fashion! I suppose they just grow into themselves.

LittleMissNorty · 04/06/2008 15:50

mmm my DD has short arms and legs - sleeves and trousers constantly being rolled up, but I'm only 5ft myself, so I hadn't thought anything of it really....

lackaDAISYcal · 04/06/2008 15:57

her arms are fine and in proportion; it's just that her legs seem very very short in comparison......she still wears some 6-9mo trousers for example, but is in 12-18 month tops.

Aaaaargh, I can't get the hang of this new keyboard. I'll be typing away, look up and the cursor has jumped up three lines, or four, or ten, or back 20 characters (its very random) and my words are goblidigook. I can't see what I'm doing wrong, or what I'm pressing by mistake, but it is driving me potty. If it was the up key, it would only jump one line, but this is too random........aaargh.

Sputnik · 04/06/2008 16:22

Maybe the touchpad?

lackaDAISYcal · 04/06/2008 16:41

could be as it's only an area of dots on the casing, not a recessed touch pad like the one I'm used to. I'll get the hang of it at some point.

I'm trying to get my mailbox all set up as well and that is proving next to impossible, but I'm sure if I read the instructions.....

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/06/2008 17:31

I phoned a friend after lunch and she came over to go for a walk with us. We walked 5 miles, but it didn't feel that far with company

lackaDAISYcal · 04/06/2008 17:36

i hope the weather has been better down there Jammy. It's been lovely here today and so far the forecast for Sunday is sunny and hot. My good weather dance obviously worked

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/06/2008 17:51

It's been lovely here today too It's next Saturday (14th) we're having our party so you'll have to teach me your sun dance before then

andiem · 04/06/2008 17:54

me too daisy we are off camping next weekend

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/06/2008 18:09

where are you camping, andiem?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/06/2008 19:30

I just found this site this afternoon about walking with buggies. It says it gives routes suitable for walking with a pushchair. Thought I'd link to it in case anyone was interested.

lackaDAISYcal · 04/06/2008 19:41

I heart my new pooter

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 04/06/2008 20:13

Evening all

Natty, s sorry to hear about your DH. Fingers crossed for a positive diagnosis.

Daisy my touchpad is v sensitive and does the same thing as yours.

Well, another night, another bite here. DD wouldn't feed from me tonight, yet just next 8oz of cow's milk. But she did feed when I got in from work, so I don't know what has gotten in to her. I'm really pissed off and DH just doesn't understand. My worry is that the less she feeds the less milk there will be, the more frustrated she will get and the more she will bite.

lackaDAISYcal · 04/06/2008 20:20

bumper, you should be able to maintain two feeds a day for ever at this stage in the proceedings, but maybe ask for advice from tiktok et al.

Have finally added some more recent photos of DD on facebook. I hadn't uploaded anything since February! Have cleared the camera disc for tomorrow and Sunday.

I think we are going to wait and give DD her presents tomorrow afternoon once DS is home from school and have a little tea party, although she may get something to open in the morning!

FrazzledFairyFay · 04/06/2008 20:30

Happy Birthday to your DD for tomorrow Daisy

andiem · 04/06/2008 20:36

jammy we are off to the new forest

happy birthday to daisy boo for tomorrow

bumper I kept going morning and night for 5 months so it is possible we have a biting situation here too and it is better if I lie down to feed mind you I want to stop when ds reaches a year

justbeme · 04/06/2008 20:53

Evening!

Natty if you're around - so sorry to hear about the worries that you're going through. Like everyone says - even if it is bowel cancer - the ... oh I cant think of the word!!!! - (you know what I mean!) - theres a good chance of them being able to sort it!!
My Dad had bowel cancer - his must have been quite advanced as the day they did tests, they wouldnt let him go home! I would double check the 5 weeks and push for answers if I were you.

Happy birthday for tomorrow Daisy's DD!! ( I cant keep up with these birthdays - think I need to print the list out!).
