hi mhc, sounds like a good, but hectic weekend

thanks for your lovely offer of help for my sis .

natty, everything OK?

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 03/06/2008 21:41

not really
looks like dh might have bowel cancer
im in bits
i just dont know what to do with myself

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2008 21:42

Paris trip sounds good MHC. I'd love to go to Paris, but never made it yet. DH not keen either

LOL at being a source of food porn! So far we are planning pancakes spread with Philadelphia cheese and rolled up and cut into chunks; ham sandwiches; cherry tomatos; strawberries and ice cream; birthday cake. So nothing too exotic really.

Meant to be doing a training walk tomorrow, but as the P&T pushchair is broken I'll have to use the Oh Baby stroller, which means countryside rambling is off the cards and we'll have to plod the streets instead

foxythesnowfox · 03/06/2008 21:43

Oh Natty ((((((hugs)))))

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2008 21:44

and Natty. Has DH been to hospital about this? (prob daft question, sorry)

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 03/06/2008 21:47

yes he has tests and 19 (yes 19!) biopsys taken. we have to wait 5 weeks
i justfeel teearful all the time
how do i carry on the next few weeks?

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 21:47

Oh natty

there are positive stories of good outcomes for bowel cancer; if it's caught early enough it's very treatable.

{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} to you

foxythesnowfox · 03/06/2008 21:50

Yes, Daisy's right. I know someone who recently had it removed. Success rates are high.

But Natty, I'm so very sorry. You WILL get through this. You are made of tough stuff.

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 03/06/2008 21:52

so needless to say ive not been around much on here.. just too sad, cant stop crying

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 03/06/2008 21:54

why me? we have had somuch shit the last year, i cant take anymore. i feel the lord is punishing me.
we were right in th middle of trying for our third as well. that may never happen now

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2008 21:54

Natty, we'll keep everything crossed. Do come and vent if you need to, and we'll be thinking of you & DH if you're not around for a bit.

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 21:55

oh, natty, we're here for you if you need to talk, you know that.

and I agree with foxy; you have been through so much so young and are obviously a very strong woman. You and your DH will get through this and come out the other side stronger for it. If there's anything I can do....

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2008 21:57

I'm sure you're not being punished Natty.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2008 22:01

I have to go to bed. It's been a long day. Night all, and particularly hope you all get a good night's sleep natty.

natty, I'm sure you're not being punished. Try not to think like that.....that way madness lies

There are also lots of things that could be going on that aren't cancer, all of which are infinitely more treatable/manageable.

We always imagine the worst in these scenarios and it is rarely the case.

do you want to talk off board about his symptoms etc? I went through a lot of angst about this before I finally got my coeliac diagnosis so I can understand how worrying this must be. E-mail me if you want to chat.

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 03/06/2008 22:13

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 03/06/2008 22:35

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 22:51

I will do natty

Am off for the night. I hope you and DH can get some rest. xx

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 04/06/2008 08:20

Oh natty, you poor thing, how awful. I really don't know what to say, but I just hope your dh gets the all clear and it is not cancer. 5 weeks seems a long time to wait, you must be terrified .

Daisy, that is awful for your sister too. It just goes from bad to worse. I hope she and her dh are ok and can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

andiem · 04/06/2008 08:23

sad news on the thread at the mo
natty hope your dh is ok

daisy your poor sis

HellHathNoFury · 04/06/2008 09:01

Natty so sorry to hear your news
{{hugs}}
If it helps - my aunt was diagnosed with bowel cancer some years ago, she had it removed and had to watch her diet for a while, but now she is back to playing with her horses and guzzling back the wine and spicy food. Success rates are high x

FrazzledFairyFay · 04/06/2008 09:29

for you Natty. Try not to worry too much (easier said than done, I know). As has already been said, it might not be your worst fears and if it is then recovery rates are v high for bowel cancer. We'll all be keeping everything crossed for you.

Sputnik · 04/06/2008 09:37

Oh Natty, it must be so hard for you right now, sending lots of hugs your way and will be thinking of you and your family. 5 weeks is ages to have to wait too
