Glad we are not the only ones hanging on to the child trust fund voucher. DH has decided where he thinks we should put it (don't ask me where though) so we just need to get round to doing it.

Fury, sorry about your mouth syndrome thing, and stress.

Daisy for your sis. Never rains but it pours eh?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2008 18:12

OK. We have 2 mums, possibly 1 dad, and 3 or 4 children attending the jamlet's birthday tea next Saturday (plus me, DH and the jamlet of course). I'm thinking ask people round for 2pm, let the LOs fight / ignore each other / play nicely and then bring out food (sandwiches, strawberries, ice cream and cake) sometime around 3.30 or 4, and if people are still here at 6 make noises about needing to wind down for bedtime. For those who have experience of these things does this sound reasonable?

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 18:21

jammy, that sounds fine, but I'm sure people will wander off before that. Just make sure you don't get too hospitable

Our lot will still be here at bedtime I imagine. We will have 19 adults and 12 children, including us. I must be maaaaaaaaaad, mad I tell you. but, the good thing about it being a barbie is fire is mens' work so I don't have to cook! Just do all the prep on Friday as I've got my peer supporter course on Saturday! Great timing, hey

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2008 18:25

I suspect people will wander off before then. But thought it would be wise to have a back up plan. We can't really have (m)any more round as unless it's fine enough to use the garden we won't all fit in the living room! Am trying to get hold of 1 more friend though and see if her, her DH and DS want to come, but that's going to have to be it.

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 18:45

If the weather is bad here, we have no idea where we are going to put people

HellHathNoFury · 03/06/2008 19:40

ooh bejesus I have about 20-30 people coming, no idea where they are going to go if it rains!

I'll probably just call it off!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2008 19:50

Lawks, I am being domesticated tonight. Washing machine and dishwasher running, nursery bags emptied, (hopefully) lush dinner cooking, bread machine set up to bake overnight, and about to sit down and do a months grocery shopping online . If I follow through with cleaning up after dinner and reloading the washing machine before bed I won't have any chores to do tomorrow

BTW where in London are we thinking of meeting? Do we need wet and dry weather options?

HellHathNoFury · 03/06/2008 20:01

my vote is kew gardens if it's sunny!

Birthday photos are fab Norty

Your lawn looks fab. How do you manage to keep it looking so well groomed?

Kew sounds good Fury.....or Richmond Park?

lackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2008 20:12

hi trace

Don't worry about missing birthdays - you have enough on your plate . There is a list at the start of the thread, about 20 posts in!

That's great news about Chloe . She sounds like she is one determined little lady. I'm looking forward to meeting you both at the Yorkshire picnic. Are you bringing DS as well? Mine will be there and they are the same age so should get on well.

LittleMissNorty · 03/06/2008 20:14

Hornimans was nice as well

We had 11 adults and 11 children on Sunday and it was only JUST ok to be outside - would've been a nightmare if they'd all been indoors....

Thanks Daisy for making me feel better....I have to go to hospital in the morning for pre-op assessment so after that, I have one afternoon of work to get through and that's it (plus a conference Friday and Saturday), then a week off recuperating...

I feel SO much for your sister and BIL....did you see Panorama last night? I couldn't think of anything more stressful...

Ohh just remembered....its my anniversary on Thursday....now I wonder where I've put the card ....

trace2 · 03/06/2008 20:15

FrazzledFairyFay · 03/06/2008 20:35

Trace, you and the DCs are more than welcome to my spare room.

LittleMissNorty · 03/06/2008 20:39

Sounds like it'll be a good meet-up....just need to pin down a day to keep free / book off work.....shall I be bold? How about the Thursday 21st? Anyone can't make that?
