Thw week of the 18th sounds lovely for a meet up. Is that the week that Bumper is coming to stay with Foxy? If anyone else is coming and would like somewhere to stay, we have a spare room too.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/06/2008 12:33

at the idea of an underground map on my tum. My problem is that the map would just be far too contoured and un-flat. I am thinking of making a "skirt" out of some nice material to sew onto the bottom of the bra, so that I get material coverage of my tummy, but still blend in with the bra look from the boobs up. And I'd then decorate the bra itself to match whatever material I've used. Although I'll probably be cutting down the BF by then, I thought it might be nice to have a "milk" theme, so will be on the look out for something suitable.

Glad the party went well Norty. I can imagine that DD will be tired today after all the excitement. And good luck with the laundry.

Am Daisy - I "heart" Tropical World. Haven't been for years though (I used to live in Kirkstall and then Horsforth for a while)

Keep us informed about London meet up plans, would love to come!!

Seansgirlthesequel · 02/06/2008 12:45

HI All!! Just a quick hello, and hope you are all well. see you have been chatting for england (mainly about Hollys boobs!! and Furys DH wanting in!!) But am off to catch up in mammoth washing from hols then will try and properly catch up and chat. Love to all XXX

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 14:17

Afternoon all

Glad you had a lovely day yesterday Norty. I'm sure the grumpiness is an over-excitement hangover!

We had a lovely visit to Tropical World. DD was fascinated by the big fish and the ring-tailed lemurs and looked very surprised when a big butterfly landed on her knee, but thankfully it took off before she could grab it!

DS behaved really well and we were having a lovely time until he decided to run off and I couldn't find him. I was just making my way to the front entrance to summon help when he appeared. I was a little bit livid, but managed to keep a calm demeanour and explain how silly and irresponsible he was. He sulked all the way home so knew he was in the wrong. The funny thing is, if I'd gone off on one at him he would've shrugged it off and not been bothered. So, a small victory to mum this time .

We've had a good chat about it as well and he is now playing happily with our neighbour's grandson and DD is asleep after all the excitement, with her new baby of course.

Am debating whether to cut the lawn, or if it;s still a bit too wet. Might not get another chance this week.

Jammy, I'm sure you must have told me before you used to live in Leeds, but I can't remember. I lived in Armley years ago, so not too far from Kirkstall. The Bridge Inn was one of our favourite watering holes and was only a 20min walk from our flat. We love the Abbey and the Abbey House Museum.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/06/2008 15:16

Afternoon chicks.

Anyone with an isofix car email annie at M&B mag to test isofix car seats here. I'm doing travel system testing with them atm.

Fairy, watch you don't get landed on when you go to toys'r'us in woking! It is an infamous suicide spot. I used to live 5 mins walk from there and there were always people jumping off the top of the car park.

Happy birthday to babies norty and izzy, hope you have fab days xx

Daisy, sounds like you've had a fun day out. Hope the good behaviour from ds lasts x

Hi to everyone else, I am so up for a meet up too! It'll be fun!

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 15:27

holly....just the lady I need to talk to!

Tell me about Phil and Teds! Did you use yours when DS was a baby? Was it heavy for bumping up kerbs? How manoevarable is it fully loaded witha baby and a toddler....or two toddlers?

or anyone else who uses P&T double.

We looked at one in Toys R Us yesterday and with just DD in it....sitting high up with the seat down for the baby underneath....I could barely lift the front wheel off the floor. Am I just a weakling? (or with weak stomach muscles anyway). My concern is that if I have to have another section I won't be able to push the bloody thing!

Oh, and one McLaren Techno XT in burnt orange is for sale, if anyone is interested....one careful lady owner, low mileage, full service history and fully valetted prior to sale

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 15:30

looked at that link holly; tis for babies under 18kg! I think most of ours are bigger than that now aren't they?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/06/2008 15:37

Well...I don't find the P&T particularly heavy to push, even with dd and ds in (60lb+ of dead weight). I mean it is heavy, but not unmanageably so. I find it easy to steer as well because it has 3 pneumatic tyres, rather than just the back 2. It makes it easier to get up kerbs as you don't have to lift it so high, you can get away with sort of running it into the kerb and it will bounce up!

I used mine from day one with ds as I had it for a couple of months before he was born. He stayed in the baby part with dd on the top part until about 4 months, when he could support his head, then we switched them and dd was underneath and ds was on the top seat. It is much easier to do it this way if there is not much weight difference between the baby and toddler because then the toddler can just get in and out of the bottom seat when they want to walk or get tired.

If you get the Vibe I shall be very !

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/06/2008 15:39

18kg is about 40lbs daisy! Have you been feeding your dd up?

Sputnik · 02/06/2008 15:39

Don't think so Daisy, even mine is only 13kg

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 15:48

durr........kilos not lbs

off to send e-mail

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 16:08

my DD

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 16:55

oh, me and my slightly chubby DD have obviously scared everyone off

FrazzledFairyFay · 02/06/2008 17:41

Tee hee at Daisy's sumo baby! I have emailed as well, both mine are under 18kg.

I have a double P&T and find it fine. I found it lighter and more manouevrable than other doubles I looked at. DD and DS both still go in it - although DD sometimes walks of course - it is v useful for her to be able to hop in and out. Mine are 21 months apart. I know that Lilkel has one as well, and her DC's are closer in age - it might be worth asking her as well.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/06/2008 18:03

Only used the P&T in singles mode (only having the one LO) but I've found it easy to push, and yes it does "bump" up quite severe kerbs without much effort. Lifting it in and out of the car isn't so easy though as it is quite heavy. Ours is out of use at the moment though as one of the rear wheels has come off and the mechanism has broken so we need spare parts. Thankfully, we're about 2-3 weeks inside the 12 month guarantee I'm told they have really good after sales service, so hopefully will be sorted v.soon.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/06/2008 18:11

No daisy, that's my ds!

Yep, good after sales service with the p&t. My toddler seat ripped after about 6 months and they sent me a new one, no questions asked.

Hope you two get the car seat test. They usually choose 3-4 people, so fingers crossed.

I have my theory test tomorrow morning. I have a DVD thing with the questions on and I keep taking mock tests and failing! There are 46 questions and you have to get 40 correct. I keep getting 38-39. I shall be mighty pissed off if I fail tomorrow with a score of 39! The trouble is is that I've had no time to look through the book or the DVD properly and I've not had a quiet house for long enough for me to concentrate on anything!

I'm going to fail!

andiem · 02/06/2008 18:32

I have applied too wouldn't it be funny if we all ended up doing it

good luck for tomorrow holly it sounds as though you are so close last minute cramming tonight might do it for you

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/06/2008 18:40

I hope you three do get to test the car seats and not the knobs on that forum. I was browsing through it the other day and one mum was asking if she should start weaning her 10 week old baby! Everyone who replied was telling her to go for it! I nearly stuck my oar in, but thought I'd better not, these hun forums can get quite ugly if you disagree with them! I should have done really and got myself banned. Then I could have joined the looooong list of MNers who have got themselves banned from other forums!

This theory test stuff is seriously tedious. I seem to be getting better though. I was always good at exams at school/college and never used to do any revision until the day before, so fingers crossed!

FrazzledFairyFay · 02/06/2008 18:56

Good luck with the revising Holly.

DD and I were discussing birthdays on the way back from Toys R Us as she 'chose' a digger for DS' birthdays. She sad to me "Mummy, when it's your birthday, I'll buy you a present", excellent I thought and I asked "What will you buy me", she thought for a nano-second and replied "kitchen roll"

andiem · 02/06/2008 19:23

just what you have always wanted fairy

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 19:30

lol fairy, that is just so.....um......thoughtful of her

good Luck with the test holly. You'll do it no probs, although multiple choice really sucks; they are designed top trip people up!

DH isn't even sure whether he has isofix points in his car. He's going to check tonight. would be funny if I got picked and then couldn't even do the testing! Mind you, I'll be getting my new vehicle soonish so we can make sure that has isofix points in it.

All quiet here...DCs in bed nice and early, but bugger I have to actually iron tonight. I haven't used the iron since my last mammoth ironing session just before DD was born last year. DH normally does school uniform, but he isn't here tonight

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 02/06/2008 19:55

Hi all

Happy Birthday to baby Norty and baby Izzy! God, where has the time gone. Do you think all the attention will be on the LOs or will anyone spare us a thought as it was a year ago we were all going into incredibly painful labour?!

Andie so of your holiday!

Well done for being calm and rational with DS daisy. Maybe knowing it worked this time will give you more incentive to stay restrained in the future. It's harder if you think it's all for nowt.

Good luck with the theory test Holly. I had to take mine twice as the first one ran out before I manage to pass my practical test!

Back to work today after a week and a half off, which was a bit of a relief actually Off again tomorrow and next week though because of the tosscunts DH works for! I've stopped expressing at work though as I wasn't getting anything out any more. DD still biting making me very afraid to feed her. Not that she wants to stop, she wants it when she wants it but woe betide if I offer it when she doesn't As I am off though, tomorrow I'm going to go to my bfing group.

And in the evening I am going to see SATC movie!!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/06/2008 20:06

Holly, good luck for your theory test tomorrow. I feel quite old suddenly - they didn't have theory tests when I got my license.

I didn't express at work today either because I forgot the bottle. Was quite swollen by the time I got home but thankfully the jamlet was really hungry when she got back from nursery so we sorted each other out.

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 20:12

ha, you didn't even need to be able to do a parallel or reverse park when I sat my test....pulling in at the kerb was enough
