Hello JBM. Early night for you maybe?

Gawd, sorry everyone for being so self-absorbed.

Daisy, I'd love to share some wonderful advice, but have none. The only tactic I can think of is not to play the game. If DS is on serious wind-up mode, stay chipper, say 'oops, never mind' and take a big, deep breath and grit your teeth. I'm guessing its an attention thing?

Welcome home Andiem, glad you had a lovely time.

Vanishing Oat cookies sound good. Bet they've all vanished by now.

Bumper, I'm sorry you are having a hard time. If she is self-weaning you might just have to go with it . I think that if you persevere you might get some feeding back, but I wonder if it might get complicated further down the track when you are ready? Have you spoken to a bfc?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/06/2008 21:08

OK I've got to change the cat litter adn then I'm off for a bath. I think a nice soak will restore me ready for work tomorrow.

Night all, here's wishing a good night for everybody.

foxythesnowfox · 01/06/2008 21:14

I'm off too.

Its amazing how much I get done when I don't MN during the day (much).

am going to read the papers, feel crap for making DS's feel crap, and for getting cranky with DD1.

Actually no, not the last bit. She woke me up at 7am wailing "I WAAANNNNAAAA PLAAAY FAAIIIIRRRYYY SNAAAAAAP. PLAAAAAAY WIIIIITH MEEEEEEEEE". And has wailed consistently until she fell asleep.

My head hurts.
My period must be due.
I am going now.

lackaDAISYcal · 01/06/2008 21:42

have I mised everyone?

thanks for the kind words re DS......apparently it was because I'd just brought him some toast and he didn't want it to go cold . A lot of what is going on with him is attention. DH and I (especially I have been trying to saty as calm as possible with him. I even managed to manage him well in toysrus this afternoon, and didn;t lose my temper with him. He even got a bedtime story from me! We are reading Paddington; it;s great

WE got DD's birthday present....this ride on. we tried her on it in the shop and she cried when ataken out, so looks like it's a hit! We also got her a dolly as requested by MIL. In the doll aisle, she started shouting baby an pointing, so we let her see the doll she was pointing at. Immediately it got a cuddle. anyhoo, DH tried to put it in the trolley and she started screaming.....she got it back. We then took it from her to sit her in an P&T sport and she started screaming.....she got it back. Then the same as we went through the checkout and as I tried to take it out of the box (we decided she could have ot as an early birthday present). she hasn't let the thing go since, and we have had to prise it out of her hands to get her in and out of buggies, the car, her clothes. So she has her cuddly cow on one side of the cot, and baby on the other...bless her.

foxy sorry about your bedtime woes. We get a lot of that here as well, and he still gets up at 6:30 regardless of when he finally gets to sleep.

7.5miles Jammy......am very impressed!

hope you got your early night jbm...Dd loves doing that scraping thing down the travel cot as well....drives me bonkers!

Izzybel · 01/06/2008 22:40

Hey everyone! I think I've missed you all
Just finished wrapping DD's presents for tomorrow.
Foxy, hope you have a good day tomorrow. Sorry that bedtimes are shit.
Jammy, 7.5 miles! You must be knackered. I walk a lot, but I don't think I've ever managed that far!
Annobal, hi good to see you!
Andiem, glad you had a great time in Greece! wished I was going on my holidays s'not fair!
Daisy, sorry about the way DS is being at the moment. Don't have any advice, but I hope it improves for you.
Bless your DD with her little dolly that sounds so cute! DD has just started cuddling her teddy to sleep and she says "aww babba." That ride on thingy looks good. My sister has got DD a smart trike for her birthday. She has stuck home made number plates on it saying 'Isabel 1'

I probably won't get chance to pop on tomorrow so I just want to say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" to Norty's DD.

Anyone I have missed - hope you and your little ones are well

lackaDAISYcal · 01/06/2008 23:25

Happy Birthday for I tomorrow Izzy

and to Norty's DD too.

thinks aloud.....

lackaDAISYcal · 01/06/2008 23:26

I won't be here till after bedtime tomorrow. training day at school and I've promised DS we will do something nice after DDs swimming (during which DS will need to sit quietly and watch by himself....am I mad for even considering going?)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/06/2008 07:16

Morning. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Norty's and Izzy's DDs.

Daisy - big aw! for your DD and her doll I got a little doll in a sale for the jamlet at the weekend, but she hasn't taken to it like that yet. And I hope swimming goes well. Is it worth splashing out (excuse the pun) on a comic or something to occupy DS while you're with DD? Or playing on how grown up he is that he can sit by himself?

Thanks folks for the comments on my walking. I'm doing it as training for a half marathon walk in July to raise funds for breast cancer research. I'm doing the Bristol SunWalk and would appreciate it if anyone would like to sponsor me

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 08:00

A quick morning from me, bearing in mind I'm not here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Izzy and Norty's DDs

A new era here in the Daisy household. DS has got two new teeth. His two bottom back molars have come in; his first grown up teeth. Won't be long till his baby teeth start falling out now. I feel quite ; my baby is getting all grown up!

Jammy, I've just visited your fundraising page. Are you going to be wearing a decorated bra?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/06/2008 08:06

Thanks Daisy
Decorated bra? If I can conjure up some decoration that covers my tummy. And I mean properly cover - no wispy fringe hanging from the bra is going to cut it for me. This tummy needs total coverage! Suggestions please ladies

OK, time to go to work

HellHathNoFury · 02/06/2008 08:36

Happy Birthday to Izzy and Norty's DD's

Hope everyone is good, my foot is still buggered. Has anyone seen Tip of the Day? Love it.

"Tip of the Day

Don't set your house on fire. EDIT THIS AREA, SET PUBLICATION OPTIONS, THEN CLICK SAVE TO SAVE YOUR NEW TIP. IF YOU'VE CHANGED YOUR MIND, CLICK DELETE INSTEAD. (system) "

I am at work and I want to go home and play with DS and take him to Beale park. I don't feel like working today.

Or tomorrow.
I have been invited to some awards ceremony thing at the O2 Millenium Dome-thingo-whatever-it's-called.

HellHathNoFury · 02/06/2008 08:40

oooh A decorated bra! Yay!

I would go for london underground theme. Then I could draw pen all over my tummy stretch marks using the london underground map lines, that'd cover them up

Daisy, I got DS that ride on for Christmas, he loves it. He is just getting the hang of getting off it and on it himself, and he loves pushing it and whizzes around the house.

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 08:46

lol fury at your underground map

We liked the look of that ride on best. It seemed much sturdier than the others they had in toysrus.

shitey horrible rainy day here today We were going to go for a picnic in the Dales, but have opted for Tropical World instead as it's indoors and lovely and warm!!

HellHathNoFury · 02/06/2008 09:05

Daisy, how weird - we got this one - seems to be exactly the same only it's mothercare, not chicco!

HellHathNoFury · 02/06/2008 09:06

I would def recommend it, it's very good and copes well with being chucked around (by DS, not me, obviously).

andiem · 02/06/2008 09:37

morning all

happy birthday to Izzy's and Norty's girls

cannot believe they are 1 already has gone sooo fast

morning fury

ds2 got a fisher price ride on for xmas so he is getting a new paddling pool for his birthday

lackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2008 09:49

fury, big mfrs often make stuff for mothercare. My big pram is branded mothercare, but is essentially a hauck infinity with different livery

hey andie, glad you had a good holiday. My ILs have just come back from two weeks on Samos. Am feeling very and nostalgic as I spent five weeks island hopping after I graduated

I think the consensus on the meet up was the week commencing the 18th August? DH thinks I'm mad and shouldn't be gadding about London at 6months pregnant with a wayward six year old and a toddler in tow. I say parp to DH

FrazzledFairyFay · 02/06/2008 10:30

Happy Birthday to the birthday-babies. We are off to Toys R Us in Woking this afternoon to see if we can find something for DD to give DS for his birthday. DS has also grown out of his shoes already, so needs some more, so I have an excuse to have a look around the other shops while we're there.

Jammy - could you sew a bra onto the outseide of a white T-shirt, and then decorate it - to avoid showing your tum? That's what I think I'd probably do.

Have good days everyone

andiem · 02/06/2008 10:53

have fun shopping fairy

daisy the 18th is fine for me we will be coming back from hols on the sunday or monday do you still want to stay?
