Do y'all think this might be a little OTT?

LittleMissNorty · 28/05/2008 21:38

Asda are doing some great T-shirts for those of you with DDs saying "I am 1" on the front, so DD has got that to wear on Sunday (a day early) with a pink ra-ra skirt ...just looked on the Asda website to see a pic - but the clothes there bear no resemblance to the ones in store

FrazzledFairyFay · 28/05/2008 21:39

Well Daisy, if you have a spare £965 then why not

LittleMissNorty · 28/05/2008 21:40

Hi Holly, Hi Fairy

Fairy, I agree, I bought a load of stuff at a boot fair on Sunday....she doesn't know any better....I may as well get away with it while I can......

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/05/2008 21:41

We got dd this for her first christmas. It is really cool.

Yes daisy, slightly ott!!

FrazzledFairyFay · 28/05/2008 21:44

DS would LOVE that, Holly. What I have got him cost £9.99 from TK Maxx and is far smaller

lackaDAISYcal · 28/05/2008 21:49

lol if we had a spare grand I'd be spending it on meeeeeeeeee

holly, I know.....it has whizzed by. Big scan in less then four weeks now!

that FP dinosaur look good, but is it noisy

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/05/2008 21:54

I love swings, but am slightly put out by the fact my arse is slightly too wide for them now! Oh to be 8 again!

The FP dinosaur is quite noisy, but it has 2 volume settings and doesn't have to have batteries in to work! The balls still roll down the slides, but there are no sounds. I am a meanie, I always take the batteries out of noisy toys!

justbeme · 28/05/2008 22:04

Thanks for the ideas - hadnt looked on the ELC or Toyr r us websites before.

justbeme · 28/05/2008 22:12

Does anyone have Leapfrog stuff - is it anygood?
here

LittleMissNorty · 28/05/2008 22:12

Right...off to bed...night all....and sorry about the moaning

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/05/2008 22:19

Noooooo jbm, don't get one of those, they are seriously crap! We have the Fisher Price version and it has been played with about twice. Complete waste of money!

I'm off too, ds is up again and is shouting at me!

Peace out xx

DKMA · 28/05/2008 22:21

Evening everyone

We met up with a couple from our NCT group on Monday for lunch (they are lovely we all went skiing together) and as all our lo's have birthdays around the same time (obviously!) we are doing the rounds of parties at the mo! I have bought all the girls a sparkly DKNY t shirt each and the boys a Timberland t shirt each. This lovely couple have bought everyone a small tree to be planted in our gardens to mark our babies 1st birthdays - how totally wonderful is that? I welled up a bit when they told me and then felt very very shallow LOL!

lackaDAISYcal · 28/05/2008 22:22

Norty....moan away; it's what we're here for . Have a good night and I hope tomorrow is better for you. Have you tried rescue remedy for the panic attacks?

I have a fear and loathing of all leapfrog stuff....tis noisy and unnecessary and a lot of it has nasty nasty tinny american voiced electronics.......imvho, obviously

lackaDAISYcal · 28/05/2008 22:27

Hey DKMA....the tree is a lovely idea , but so are the designer Ts......DD has a couple of designer bits that we were given which I love, but I'd never buy it myself so it's lurvely to get as a gift.

friends and family have been asking what DD wants for her birthday (erm, she's 1, she doesn't even know it's her birthday).......I think I shall respond some raspberry canes/blackcurrant bush/apple tree please

justbeme · 28/05/2008 22:30

Ok No to the Leapfrog!!! Thanks!!
Like the tree idea!
Right off to make sarnies for tomorrow!!
Night all xx

toofattoflounce · 29/05/2008 00:45

Hi, 'tis Ria. No time to catch up. Hope you are all ok.
I'm off on my hols tomorrow. Have a good weekend. Time I was in bed.

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 29/05/2008 08:18

Morning all

Loving all the presents I got DD this for her birthday, but I got it from ebay for £13 incl P&P, and I got her some puzzles from the NCT sale - I am that mean! I hate buying things new when I can get them 2nd hand. I spend £50 in mothercare last week on new sleepsuits, vests and pj's for DD in the next size up (these things are difficult to get 2nd hand as this age) and was gutted to hand over all that money on not a lot!

Norty, I', so sorry you are having a tough time. They will be fine without you, but I understand, it's totally scary to go away. Be kind to yourself, give yourself a nice treat or something, you deserve it.

Hi everyone else. Hope you are all ok. JBM great news on the potty stuff. I have thought of doing EC but TBH it all seems a lot more hassle than it's worth. Great if you can just do it when you need to though

HellHathNoFury · 29/05/2008 10:01

Morning bumper

DS gets all his clothes from Sainsburys. They do ok and are pretty cheap. Mini mode from Boots only last about 3 wears!

I have been naughty and got him loads for his birthday though, I got him a rocking horse, a duplo set, an ELC rocket with little people to go in it and a fisher price train thing with safari animals which I hate but I am sure he will love. Also the family will be spoiling him rotten. I feel bad for spoiling him now.

foxythesnowfox · 29/05/2008 10:13

Hi everyone

If you don't spoil them now, when can you? Don't think of it as spoiling them, think about it as investment for future children. Because it only happens the first time I think

HellHathNoFury · 29/05/2008 10:17

well I am torn, I feel bad for spoiling him on one hand, on the other hand I want to buy more, I love the ELC whizzy garage but can't justify another £40 lol

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 29/05/2008 10:35

It's not even the spoiling thing for me, I've seen loads of things I would love to get DD, and no dobt in a year or so i will. It's just she wouldn't appreciate them atm, she wouldn't know how to play with them. She just eats things at the moment, and is far more interested in our phones, remotes and the empty milk bottles in the recycling box!

HellHathNoFury · 29/05/2008 10:41

yes I'd agree with that - but DS is just beginning to learn how to play with 'toy' things now. No doubt he picks a lot of it up at nursery, they have a lot of the same sort of toys there.

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 29/05/2008 10:44

I'm just a miser!

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 29/05/2008 10:53

Right, I'm having lunch. I don't care that it's not even 11am, hopefully it'll stop DD whinging and my tummy rumbling!
