Baby Sputnik is probably getting one of these and maybe some of those peg puzzle things. We have loads of stuff from DD so won't be going crazy. Anything push-along or ride on is good at this age, plus noisy stuff. DD had 1 of these which is still going strong, plus a fisher price phone thing which was really useful as small and portable. Which reminds me, this must be 1 of the best value toys we have ever bought, especially as they were on offer and cost £1 at the time, we used to draw things to keep DD amused, now she uses it herself.

We have 1 of those leap pad things, got it when DD was 1, she played with it loads around 18 months, but just made randm noises really. It has gone through several revivals since, and she did finally "get" it, so have got value out of it (though books for it are hideously overpriced, you need indulgent relatives to buy them for you). No great educational value though really.

Hey everyone, check out this thread

PFBs are meant for spoiling fury

I did it with DS (in fact still do , showering him in all the range of whatever he is into at the moment), but where baby toys are concerned, we still have so much from DS that is in very good condition (I'm a bit precious about keeping things nice too ) and I just don't want to clutter up the house with (even more) stuff.....and DD doesn't know it isn't new.......

I think I'll get the duplo down from the attic and wrap that up

on the subject, DS got the previous incarnation of this toy for his 1st Christmas and DD is loving it at the moment. All sorts of things get put down the chute and she looks very funny when she is flat on the floor trying to see where things have gone.

DS has been packed off to the holiday playscheme today. DH was talking to him on the phone last night and asked him if he thought he had been well enough behaved to be allowed to go. DS replied, "but Daddy, I have to go, Mum said she can't take another day of this".....oops

IT is soooo warm here today, but still threatening rain. I might get in the garden later when DD is asleep, other than that I'm supposed to be doing housework, but as usual the lure of MN is irresistable.

lolling at your new name Ria, but I like your Ria names.....very you

lackaDAISYcal · 29/05/2008 11:36

lol at your link sputnik...my problem is that I know what to do to get my tummy back in shape....it's just the actual doing that I have an issue with. No self discipline me, unless it's for buying and eating chocolate. I'd get an olympic gold in that

I left the side of DD's cot down last night....bad mummy

My name is fury
and I am a kitkat-aholic
It has been 24 hours since my last kit kat

but I am fighting the urge to go and get one.

I would, but I had chips for lunch.

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 29/05/2008 14:06

You can resist fury

I on the other hand ate my lunch at 11 and I have been up since about 6 so that means I will probably have to fit an extra meal in!

DD is wearing a vintage 70's dress that my SIL gave her! With that and the 2 seconds I could get her to wear her new sunnies she looked fab!

lackaDAISYcal · 29/05/2008 14:16

hey mhc

I need to go to the dentist. My gum has receeded so far over one of my teeth you can see where the root starts to separate . Is there anything that can be done about receeding gums, or is this the beginnin of the end for that tooth?

I'm having gardeining angst. My tomatoes have gone all yellow and papery and the courgette flowers are rotting on the stems. Not sure what I've done wrong.

foxythesnowfox · 29/05/2008 15:38

you can get them filled Daisy. Luckily you have another year of maternity exemption , everyone else had better get to their dentist sharpish They aren't keen to do them as white fillings are more expensive.

lackaDAISYcal · 29/05/2008 16:45

they looked at filling it before foxy, but said it won't work.

tbh it wouldn't bother me if the tooth did have to come out as it's the only first molar I have left. the others were removed so I could have a brace fitted to straighten my teeth as my mouth is too small for all my teeth and they are wonky. That one wasn't done as I had problems and the brace was removed, and I never plucked up the courage to go back. As a result my wisdom tooth on that side is impacted and gives me grief. If the molar came out then my wisdom tooth would have room to come in, like the others have been able to......although my dentist doesn't believe me; he is convinced that my other three wisdom teeth have yet to break through and that my actual wisdom teeth are the 2nd molars

yawn.....tooth bore or what.

foxythesnowfox · 29/05/2008 17:03

F*ck. Objectivity's thread is awful

lackaDAISYcal · 29/05/2008 17:17

isn't it foxy

It seems like she is getting help though. MNHQ stepped in and have contacted a family member. SS now involved as well I think. And of course, even after knowing that MN are involved and that it is a real poster, the inevitable troll accusations are coming out. I hate the way everyone shouts troll on here when these things happen.

foxythesnowfox · 29/05/2008 17:20

I hope they are OK, whoever she is.

Its heartbreaking, isn't it?

lackaDAISYcal · 29/05/2008 17:28

there have been a few threads like that recently No doubt we'll find out at some point.

Right, gotta go and pick up DS......do something productive since I've wasted the whole day titting about on the pooter.......again

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I am on my 2nd G&T already - my 2 have pushed my patience to the limit today - mostly 'boundary-pushing' by both of them. My being pre-menstrual hasn't helped. There has been too much shouting in the Fairy household today

HellHathNoFury · 29/05/2008 20:08

FARRRRKKKKKKK

my toe FARKING well hurts
ARSE

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/05/2008 20:16

Fury - how did you break it?

HellHathNoFury · 29/05/2008 20:18

walking into the high chair at speed

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/05/2008 20:19

Arse! I have broken/cracked my little one several times and it does FARKING HURT. Try putting some ice on it.

HellHathNoFury · 29/05/2008 20:21

it's the one next to my big toe.
ouchy ouchy.

I have broken toes countless times but this one is smarting quite a lot! Never mind, DH has brought me biscuits

lackaDAISYcal · 29/05/2008 20:23

what have you done to your toe fury?

mhc, it's from over vigourous brushing over the years. I try to be gentle, but I think too much damage has been done.

I picked DS up from playscheme...he was in the house for less than 10 minutes before he started with his carrying on and screeching and crying and shouting. they had a bath together and he was constantly mum, mum, look at me mum, so I know most of it is attention seeking. He was going to get a story, but he started on me again after I'd put DD to bed...I sent him up to read whilst she had her bottle and got settled as she won't if he is up...saying I'd taken too long and carrying on, so no story....but I think that was probably totally counter-productive. I am going to take him out just the two of us over the weekend and (hopefully) have a nice time......

lackaDAISYcal · 29/05/2008 20:25

tooo slow and cross posted. I cracked my little toe into the leg of the sofa last week and it bloody hurt, but thankfully I didn't break it.

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/05/2008 20:25

Oh dear Daisy, it sounds exhausting. I'm sure that I have this to come.

lackaDAISYcal · 29/05/2008 20:25

gawd, where are my manners.....meant to say poor you
